Just got done with my first experiment with shaving cream. What a mess - but oh so fun! Not so sure about the results this time (I used Baroque Burgundy, Pink Pirouette and Gold Metallic); I will play more later with different colors.

Stacy, do you have one of those Dysons that's supposed to be so good with pet hair? If so, how do you like it? I hate my vacuum, it's heavy and bulky.

What a neat idea to try metalic paints, I might have to give that a try!

Hugs!

Cindy, I know you told us this before so please forgive me for asking again. Where do you work? Sounds like it's kind of out in the country, especially with you talking about all the sunflowers.

Can I be next in line after you??? With this house though I don't know if even a magic wand would help! I have really gotten lazy the last few weeks!

I have one of the Dyson Animal ones. And, let me tell you - by the hair it picks up - Haiku ought to be bald!!! I love mine. It was our first purchase when we moved here, in '07. My mom vacuumed her house with her high-end vacuum. Then, she borrowed the neighbor's new Dyson Animal one. She said she ended up filling the canister more than once, even after she had already used hers. That sold me!! It is a little heavy, but not too bad to carry up the stairs - but it does have some weight behind it. It is lighter to push/pull than my old one was.

Thanks Cindy! He is the love of my life! (but don't tell my DH, I like to let him think HE is!) I bought a magnet this weekend at the doggie event, it's a big paw print and in the middle it says "My Dog is my B.F.F." Right now it's on the fridge but it will probably go on the car with the rest of them! DH says my car is a moving billboard!

Wow! Sounds exactly like what I need around here! It's funny, with Rusty as hairy as he is, he isn't the problem. It's Sadie our Yellow Lab, she sheds much worse than he does! And the little ones shed quite a bit too, along with the cats.

Haiku doesn't look like he would be a bad shedder - he has a very short top coat. However, he has a 2-3 inch long white under coat! You can spend hours brushing him, and raking him with your fingers - and the fluff just keeps coming out. Sometimes, he gets these tufts of white fur poking out - like 1 inch thick - you just pluck it, kind of like the inside of a particular reed-plant that ends in the word willow (yeah, starred the first word in the name of the plant...). I have never seen anything like it! The vacuum comes with tools, too. Love the pet hair one for the furniture.

LOVE my Dyson Pet Vacuum. I got it as a Christmas present two years ago and I still love it. Maggie used to blow her coat a couple times a year. We would take her to get groomed on post (PetSmart does it too) and they would do a Furminator treatment. I swear she would loose 5 pounds each time and would shed much less for the next 8 weeks. We would usually go 3-4 months between treatments, but boy it was worth every penny, especially when the girls were babies and crawling around.

OH Buttercup is our little blonde shedder, you know its time for the grooming when they leave fur on your shirt. I agree Kimmee, it is so worth the costs, beats the heck out of using one of those coat combs those work too, but I'm all about less work!

Those are the brushes we use - Furminators. And, they are awesome.

They use a shampoo and conditioner that loosens the undercoat as well. Then they will use their dryers and brush along and get all the loose hair out. They shed some for about a day, just brush them normally and then after it all works out they really don't shed at all. They always said they could make 3 dogs from what came out of Maggie.

I do! I really like it...of course I think Ariel is even challenging it LOL I think any other vacuum would have rolled over and died by now though

Well it sounds from all the positive feedback from you guys that a Dyson Pet Vacuum needs to be in my future! Thanks for all the responses!

*****GAG ALERT********

Try turning it over and making sure that there isn't a ton of hair wrapped around the spinny brush (technical term ) You will be amazed at how much better it works after you cut all that carp out of it. With all those girlies in your house I'm sure there is a fair share of hair stuck in it.

Good morning! Just a bit chilly this morning!! It's sure looking like fall now- the leaves are starting to turn and some (my dogwoods) are already dropping their leaves!

Hope you all have a great day! Only one more day this week after today!!

I work in White Hall for an electrical contractor. Last exit in MD on 83. And yep, we are out in the country - corn and sunflower fields and lots of cows. Some days it smells like Amish Country.

Some of the trees on 83 are changing, and when the sun hits just right, it really brings the red/orange out in them. So pretty!

Just did my Christmas shopping for my dd. She is a Team Jacob freak - I mean, fan Hot Topic never seems to bring anything in for Team Jacob - so just ordered it on-line. I can already hear the shrieking now!

Cherie - what is Team Jacob? I know Im old (and knowing it more and more).
Have a great day everyone. No work tomorrow! yay!
She is referencing the Twilight books...have them if you wanna read, they appeal to young and old....Team Jacob references one of the boys the young heroine must choose between (he is a werewolf) and then there is Team Edward (he is a vampire) - if you have seen odd stamp sets with a truck and a dog and a vampire this is where they are coming from
