I've been up for a while, but have to admitt I haven't slept well the last few nights. SO I'm tending toward trying to sleep in the morning or take a nap in the afternoon.
Today I'm working on a bts project for my little neighbor who starts first grade, her name is 'Candy' and she is so cute and sweet, I'll show you guys what I come up with later on today.
Amanda, did you find the stamps at the Laurel Michaels? I'll have to check it out!
Despite the Thunderstorm BWI lists the flight( IN THREE HOURS:mrgreen as being on time.
but we can't have my day go smooth.. not at all
went to turn the car on. Dead battery. Oh joy. Call AAA. AAA shows up( he actually lives around the corner!) and we have a bit of a hard time getting Mr Battery and Ms 8 month old Gas to play nice. but it finally comes to life and he tries to drive it out of the garage so I don't you know, flood the place with Carbon monoxide. only the car makes this gawd awful lurch/scrunching sound and he declares it unsafe to drive as the right rear wheel is not turning. got a lovely tire tread print on the drove way to prove it. .
soo of course I am freaking out that car is now broken and his first full day back is going to be spent trying to get a tow truck/repair/rental.
so he calls when he lands in Atlanta and I am like.. Please don't be pissed..
and do you know what that brat said?!. "check.. the PARKING BREAK."
that little So and So had set the parking break and NEITHER one of us caught it. So all my Freaking out was for nothing.
I am dressed, all I need to do is brush the teeth and fix my face...
Any one for lunch next Thrusday? Kid will be in school and hubby will be in NJ
I'm not picky. But if you haven't tried the Cactus willies in laurel, its a pizza buffett, maybe we cna go there. Its like Cici's but I think the salad bar is much better!
omg lol i now have to wipe off my monitor - the yummy frozen coffee I was drinking is now all over it hahahahaha I just hope they tipped that cabbie extra good

 yup -- Oh my! Told that one to the DH he nearly spat his soda all over the computer while we where watching a movie!
Morning!!! What a dreary morning!!! I WAS going to scrub the bathroom floor but my knees are killing me this morning, so that'll have to wait! I DO need to work on my card for next week's swap! I have an idea, but that's it- just an idea!
I did have some good news last night- I WON the Nautical Theme Contest over on Bombshell stamps!! I win 3 tropical background stamps and a bag of blue 'goodies' from Gauche Alchemy. Woo Hoo! Here's the card I won with:
the easiest part was getting the pass to meet him at the gate. 20 minutes late( no big deal).
Bucket seats in the cab.. not as easy to get reacquainted there.
this morning, however.. disaster after disaster.
waiting on AAA to jump car ( again). still aren't sure if it is actually driveable. he spent any minutes trying to set up the wireless router but was having HUGE issues with the information he had.. and after being on hold for like half an hour got that part fixed but still wasn't able to connect his laptop.
supposedly that was also Troubleshooted sufficiently.
but basically NOTHING he has attempted since he got up this morning has worked first attempt. except maybe the coffee....

We flew through some gorgeous lightening, last night, into BWI. Landed at 18 min past midnight...Had to call DH at 12:30 - asking where he was...Asleep in his chair!! He picked us up at 1am. Hit the sack at 2am. I am t-i-r-e-d. Am going to head to the coma-misery shortly.
Thanks to those who offered supplies. But, my order shipped and will be here Wednesday.
I used to be at Marley Glen, which is right next door to the new Marley Elemenatary. I was in ECI and Pre-K for 14 years there. Now I'm at Jacobsville in Pasadena. Good luck!
I LOVE Marley Glen!!!! That is my true comfort zone. I worked there all last summer, in the Senior Medically Fragile room. I worked most of the previous school year in that room, too. I took this summer off, though.

I worked with the Intermediate aged kids for one year, but the other 13 years I was there I was with the little guys and I loved it! I'm really good friends with the secretary's- Jenny and Chris. Jen lives right across the street from me. There are quite a few stampers at Marley Glen- Diane, who used to be principal there before Shauna, is an SU demo. We get together occasionally for a mini SBS or stamp camp. I'm actually missing the next one because I'm going to Cindy's SCS next Saturday.
Stacy, I missed the mail this morning (it came before 10am! That NEVER happens!!) so I'll get the check for my PC order in the mail on Monday. You should have it Tuesday. Thanks, again, for ordering for me!!

Congratulations Mary! I just love that card and can totally see why you won the contest! I tell ya, you're definitely on your way to stardom!

very stressful morning for both of us.
Yea, what ARE you doing outta bed???????????
Mary, what a delightful card. I just love it. So creative and the coloring is wonderful. I can totally see why you won. Congratulations. Dawnmarie, having your husband back and safe puts all the "issues" you have faced this past two days in perspective. Remember, it's good to have him safe. I hope you all have a good week-end and Cherie, I am glad you are back and safe and your supplies will be here in time. Of course, for me, in time is a month ago because I am so not like you all and I can't think on the fly.....obviously! I need longer to get the brain to work and produce. That is why I am always behind in the swaps. Have a great week-end.

Yeah, seems we missed all the storms, thankfully. It had just stopped raining there, as we flew into Chicago. And, then here, too. For once, luck was on our side I took DD to get some Bermuda shorts and a belt, for school. Then, we just did the 20-items lane at the commissary. I have a scrapbook crop to go to tomorrow. Me thinks I will be going to bed eeeeeaaarrrlllyyy tonight!!! LOL!!!
Mary; Beautiful card and congrats!
DM; Glad DH is home, hope you're having fun!
Cherrie; Welcome home!
Jane; Hi and (.) (.) hugs!
Amanda; FOund some great deals at the AAM Michaels, thanks for the tip!
Kathi; Hope you are doing well, how is Rusty with all the storms?
Kiddo is with ex until sometime late tomorrow. Think we'll scoot off and watch tv or a movie.
GO SEE Julie and Julia -- so worth the watch, its fantastic!
Greetings from Maine! Just came "home" from a dinner on the waterfront in the fog. Had lobster and steamed clams (for you Jane!) Went to an auction this afternoon. It's foggy and cool here (although the folks here say it is HOT)
welcome home everyone!! Cherie, your flight home sounds like mine from when I went to OHIO I thought we were going down at least twice, then they re-routed us north! Not a great time!
DM Get back in bed girl LOL car will be there Monday =0)
Ok ladies, I've given some thought to what our next challenge card should be and I decided that since our second favorite activity is eating, how appropriate that we should create a card with a food item!
So my challenge to you is to use a food image on your card! You have until next Sunday (8/30) at midnight to create your card and post it here for everyone to see. Once all the cards are posted you will then cast your votes up until 7 p.m. on Monday (8/31). You may vote for two cards but you can only vote for your own card once. I'll tally the votes and announce the winner on Monday evening!
