I like the sketches, too. And, like you, don't know why I don't use them more. I wish someone would tell me what stamp set to use, too!!! LOL! Kinda like research papers - I LOVE doing them - but I want to be told what my topic is!!

actually that is a nice blog although the finished products frighten me with all their ruffles and frills heheheh. I am a complete dunce when it comes to visualizing stuff so I need Tracy to show me what to do grab a sketch.

Thanks for the concern girls. I happened to be in Reisterstown last night at my parents' house granny sitting, so they could have a nice dinner out. The storm was awful. I surely thought we'd have to head for the basement and kept wondering how in the world I'd get my grandmom down all those steps. It resembled a hurricane outside. We lost power at 6:00 p.m. and they still don't have it back on as of noon when I talked to Mom.

Yep, I'm south of Perry Hall inside the beltway. We most not have had the storm that Mom and Dad did, because they weren't any branches or trees down like in their area. 795 was awful having to dodge trees and branches while coming home that way.

The rainbow ribbon challenge cards are really good. When I heard rainbow ribbon, I think my mind went where Tracy's went. LOL

Anyone else want ATG tape? I have already heard from Kimme and Loretta. It is $3.74/roll for Gold (acid free) OR $2.70/roll for non-acid free, including shipping (that's shipping to me - you can pick it up at my house or I will bring it to one of our gatherings). I will call in the order probably tonight or tomorrow morning. PM me if interested - thanks!

Default Brothers and Sisters

It so sweet to see you guys chatting about your brothers and sisters.

Makes me reminance a bit about growing up with my little sister, Barbara. Still so sad she died so young, there was alot of un-seen potential. She was 1 year and 15 days younger than I and even more strange is she died on her 42nd birthday.

It is really an odd feeling to loose a sibling. Even though we where not close, it was sad to see her life end. PS before you ask, she died of an accidental fentanyl poisioning. The cornoner deemed it accidental death. Just so sad!

So, call those siblings, tell them you love them and be thankful!

Maybe when I go to the co-missary tomorrow, I'll grab some rope and herd those rain clowds to my house. We are still dry as a bone!

Cindy; Glad you're ok with the storms, do you have power back yet?
DM; Hope you can make the class!
Amanda; The ribbon challenge was fun!

Just got caught up with you chatty girls!

My nephew got married Saturday at Chesapeake Beach. It was a beautiful setting and a wonderful day. My mom looked so nice - at the last minute she did get a new dress! It was great to see friends and family especially my sister who is here from Florida.

Stacy - Happy Anniversary! I think I've got all of you beat - DH and I will celebrate our 40th anniversary on Aug. 10. Now that's a long time!

Love the challenge cards. Guess I'd better get busy and make mine.

Loretta & Cherie - It was nice to meet you gals. Loretta I'm sorry I can't come to your class but I'll be at the beach. Maybe another time - I've always wanted to make a never-ending card.

Kimme - I liked your layout and I voted for it. I hope to meet you someday!

Think I'll go work on my bright card! Talk to you later.

You all know that you can print all the sketch challenges from the master thread on here, right? You can print them with or without a sample for more detail. I print off a few pages every couple of months and keep them all in a binder. I have the color challenges printed as well, but don't usually get as stumped in that area any more. I look at my dsp or ribbon and pull my colors to coordinate from there.

DM~If you look at the sketch and not the sample sometimes it is easier. If nothing else, use it as a starting point for your layers. Not every image is going to fit every sketch perfectly, but you can usually adjust enough to make it work. I will usually start with an image and then go through my book until I find a sketch that works for me.

Kimmie;

I so understand where you are coming from. I have to get an idea in the head and stay with it until it works out. I have a few days where I have brilliance and they just come to me the rest of the time... not so much.

Now I feel the need for a sketch challenge!

I do this too Kimme! I print a lot of sketch challenges from all the blogs I subscribe to, my binder is so full I can't get anything else in there, I need a bigger one! I love using sketches, simply because there's not an ounce of creativity in this old brain of mine and it's nice to have someone at least do that part for me! I do much better with coordinating colors too. I'm sure there is some word for my functional limitation with layouts but I'll be darned if I know what is is!

Hmmm. Planes breaking while still on ground...Much better than while in the air. DH was supposed to have flown out 2am today, his time. It is now going on noon his time, and they still haven't left...

He is in Ethiopia, they don't keep planes on the ground for long...His flight was 2 hrs late in arriving. 2 hrs later, they attempted to back away from the terminal...then the plane went completely black. They sat on the plane, in the dark, for 3.5 hrs - he says I will not believe what happened during that time...He is still waiting for a departing plane to come...I hope everyone has a good day.
