Yes, Rhonda and Amanda, thanks for the Christmas cards too! It was so nice to find them in the mail last night! I'm still working on mine but I should be getting them out this week sometime!

I know you will do better next year Mary, you're the Christmas Card Challenge Lady! You have to set a good example for us!

You're welcome! LOL! I know the feeling, I've been to Hallmark myself. This year I didn't stamp near as many, some family members don't appreciate the homemade so they get store bought!

I am sending out photo cards to most people this year. I will send real stamped cards to stampers and a few family member who I know will appreciate them. Actually, I will send my brother a photo card and his wife a stamped a card. She saves all the cards I make, so I have to send her one, and they each mail out their own cards each year. She has him well trained

With the girls I think a photo card is a must! That's great that your SIL keeps your cards! Neat!

Maybe after Christmas we can hit Rocky Run for lunch! I could go for one of their Cuban sandwiches!

That sounds fantastic! When we lived in Puerto Rico they had a sandwich called the Cubano....wonder if it's made the same, kind of a toasted, sub-style sandwich with pork and ham.

No problem. Mackenzie saw them on the counter that morning and says...
Mack: Ooooh mommy good job.
Me: Good job what?
Mack: Good job making presents. Ooooh. Nice ribbon.

All I had done was wrap a piece of ribbon around a stamp box. She's easily impressed. Her head is going to explode on Christmas.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

I was so tired saturday after shopping all day. I did nothing but veg sunday. We missed you Rhonda!

Today, I went and wrapped gifts for the 5th grade fundraiser and of course there was no real business today, so I was able to wrap up several of my own personal gifts while sitting around and I hit the post office which was busy this morning and again this afternoon. Trying to get all my packages out so I can write out my Christmas cards and get them mailed before it's too late.

Plus DS should be bringing home the stuff to finish up his science fair report, so we can make changes to the final mess and get it turned in by friday. Better run for now, need to get several more boxed packed and taped up for the post office tomorrow. Hope you all are having a great day!

Yep- that's it! Rocky Run's Cuban has pork, cheese, Jalepeno mustart and pickle. Not sure if there's ham on it or not, but it sure is good- especially with the sweet potato fries and cinnamon butter! YUMMM!!!

Default Santa

I've been listening to sirens for the past 30 minutes. Here in Bowie, the fire dept. has kind of a mini-parade in each neighborhood, every night for about 2 weeks before Christmas. Every year. An emergency vehicle leads the pack, with the big fire truck next, with Santa on top, waving at everyone, and two ambulances bringing up the rear. It's pretty cool. They collect food for the local food bank, so the firefighters and EMT's are the "elves". They have the hard job, collecting all the bags, while Santa gets to ride the big truck. Heck, they are still out there, our street is only 1 block long and they've been up here twice. It's pretty warm outside and the kids are absolutely loving it! Sirens going and lights flashing. I love it! They will do this every night until the 22nd. This is the small town feel I like about Bowie. It's the big city crazy drivers during the day that ruin it.

Hmmmmm...I bet that's what they were doing here. We saw the truck with Santa on the back, but it was further up the neighborhood, when we were getting home. We went tonight to Baugher's Restaurant to see Santa. He came bye each table and the girls got a little plastic puzzle and a coloring book, and a cookie with their hot dog and ice cream for dessert. It was the perfect night out in their world. Mr. Baugher himself was walking around playing Christmas songs on the harmonica, and sat down with us and chatted a bit. He asked where we were from....I guess we still stand out as outsiders in these parts especially since I got the girls dressed up in their Christmas dresses hehehe.

That's really cool! Ever since I was born and probably before that even (which was a VERY long time ago), on Christmas Eve, Santa rides around Glen Burnie giving out treats to the kids and reminding them they need to go to bed early so he can come to their house later. I still remember how excited we would get knowing he was coming! Then years later it was fun watching my own kids waiting for him to come down our street!
