Toni, those 2 photo mats went in the mail this morning. Sorry not sooner. Just hate leaving the house any more. I'm turning in to such a hermit LOL Good thing I have enough stuff here to occupy me :-D

Just wanted to say Thank you to all of you and to Toni.
As we started calling Baleigh 'Peanut' in the beginning... the nickname has stuck with me and I am now using it in my current book until Jessie finds out what she is having. I didn't really want to be gender specific before she's even had her first prenatal appointment. LOL So you guys helped a lot. :-)

I call my youngest grandson tiny peanut. He wasn't even 6 pounds when he was born. I want to do a scrapbook page for his book with Elephants when I get to it, and title it You're My Favorite Tiny Peanut. Corny, I know, but I like corny! lol

I think it's ADORABLE!

Charli's nick name is ducki, and Brandi I called Banny or Bran. She never picked up anything nickname wise like Charli did with the land before time movies.

That's what I'm hoping too but thought maybe someone on here talked to her onther than on SCS. I know there are several people I've met on here that we text back and forth too. Well, update us if you know anything.....
Hiya, girls!! So sorry to make anyone worry!!! I was in the hospital for a week and have spent the last week TRYING to get into some kind of routine and get used to all this newness! lol! I finally logged onto my laptop 2 nights ago to order pictures, but am just now finding time to catch up on everything! Peanut was born with low blood sugar due to the meds I was on for the gestational diabetes, so she spent her first several hours in the special care unit. I didn't even get to see her until about 2 in the afternoon the day she was born! (I was still numb from the c section and hooked up to catheter, IV, etc so I couldn't get up to see her) That was tues (the 17th); we were supposed to be released on Fri (the 20th), but they discovered she was jaundiced...levels of 14.4, so they kept us another night to keep her under the UV lights. We were finally released on Sat (the 21st) around 4 in the afternoon...her levels came down to 9.9 overnight and had dropped more to 9 by the time they let us leave - whew!
It's been absolutely crazy! We weren't really prepared for it to happen this fast, but I guess you're never really ready, right? ;) Of course she has her nights/days mixed up....awake and 'fussy' all night and sleeps all day, no matter how I try to keep her up during the day. I've also had some concerns about constipation. She went from having bowel movements about 3x a day to skipping 2 days, and now she hasn't had one since Fri night. I called the pediatrician and she recommended rectal stimulation (using a qtip or my little finger and insert into her rectum using vaseline), but I'm REALLY not comfortable/afraid to do that!! I don't want to hurt her! Anyway, they want me to try that first and if that doesn't work, insert 1/3 of a glycerine tablet like a suppository. Ugh! So I guess if she doesn't poop by tomorrow (which will be 4 days), I won't have a choice...I know...TMI, right?? lol!
Anyway, here are a couple more pics...and if you have a few minutes, there are some really cute ones on the hospital website - Dublin Methodist Hospital, Dublin, Ohio - under my name, of course...
Toni, she is BEEEEAUUUUTIFUL!!! Sounds like everything is going well for you. Thrust right into the motherhood thing lol. I wish you lived next door so I could bring all my baby girl clothes for you to look through! I've got to find a good home for this stuff. Enjoy every day!
OH MY! Check out the little smirk on her face while she is sleeping. THAT is an awesome picture! It is really common for babies to be jaunice here in CO. We had a "tanning bed" at home that looked like a suit case that was propped open that she slept in for some time.. The little mask that your peanut has on is better than the one my little miss had. It was velcroed to the side of her head and a little round sticker on the middle ofher forehead.
Oh, Toni, she is beautiful! That last picture of her just tugged at my heart. I hope that's your announcement picture because it is the most precious thing I've ever seen.
as to the bowel issue... are you breastfeeding or formula? The reason I ask is my dd used formula on both of the girls. She just couldn't get breast feed. They discovered it was an issue with the formula. When they changed formulas (and added a supplement drop to the bottle for better digestion with Abby), they were fine.

She is absolutely gorgeous!
She HATED those goggles! And they left a nasty red mark around her eyes...took forever to go away. I understood the need but still hated seeing her like that!

She's on formula...we already switched from similac advanced to similac sensitive. She finally had another movement late last night....I'm probably just too focused on it! lol
Hahahahaha!!! Ya'll are sooo right! The nurses were concerned with my 'gas' and movements! Hmmm...wish I'd had those pretty leopard print depends rather than those cute lil granny panties made of paper that they give you in the hospital!!! What do they call those anyway??
Does anyone have any experience with DDH (developmental displaysia of the hips)? Baleigh had an ultrasound on her hips last week and this week the pediatrician called to
refer us to an orthopedic surgeon! Said her left hip was within normal range but not her right. Guess this is a common issue in firstborn girls in the breech position...especially those where the feet were up by the shoulders. I had a crying jag, then sucked it up and figured there has to be a treatment and hopefully there won't be any issues down the road when she's learning to walk...
I don't know much about that Toni, sorry, but it is good they have caught it now and that there is obviously a specialist to talk to about it! I am sure you will be able to work through it!
Hey, Toni... Yes I know it well. DS was breech and resulted in a c-section. He had one leg folded below him and the other foot over his head. His left hip joint was affected. I cried too! Our pediatrician found it right after birth and I was terrified, but she probably will have to wear a little harness/brace for a few weeks. DS wore his for about 6 weeks! Find a pediatric orthopedic surgeon! I really stress that you find one that deals with peds regularly! You can email/call me if you want. Just pm me.

My one cousin had the hip problem when she was born. This was 30 years ago so I'm sure things have advanced now but I gotta tell you a lil story. She had surgery and was in a cast from waist down on her 1 leg for several weeks. Of course cloth diapers were the popular thing back then, but all she had was a cut out in the cast for clean up diapering purposes so couldn't use a regular or disposable diaper without a big mess. My aunt used Maxi pads and it worked great. I was probably 12 or 13 then but I know we teased her when she was older and had to use them that she was the youngest one in the family to ever use feminine hygiene products!
Second tale about the same cousin and the cast. I was staying over with my other cousins - her 2 older sisters (had a brother too) one night. We were down stairs in my cousins bedroom that was just a couple years younger than me and there was a bang noise upstairs. It wasn't loud just sounded weird. I asked her what that noise was and before she could answer, her younger sister we tolerated hanging out with us said, "Mom just dropped the baby again it's okay." Then the older cousin explained that when she laid her on the table to change her the cast would bang and that was the noise I heard!
