Join us for an entire day of stamping fun!
Hope youre planning to join us at our next Central New York Stampin' Get Together. Heres the info:
Cost $20.00 per person. Your registration must be paid no later than 5 pm on Saturday, August, 14th. Mail your registration form and payment to Meg Deck. There are no refunds, but you may offer your spot to someone else. Heres whats planned.
Mandatory Swap(s) (just one of these is mandatory) Youll know how many to make when we post the final counts, and youll have plenty of notice. Participating in at least one of these six swaps is part of the price of admission so everyone must participate in a swap (plus the shoebox table project is also required). You can, however, participate in any one, some or all of these swaps. Each of these swaps will include a +1 for a door prize.
Card Front Swap - Final Count - XX Arlene (Arlenevita) will give you some guidance on this swap. See Post #7.
Recipe Swap Final Count - XX Pat (scraphead) will provide more information about 6x6 recipes. Info is in Post #9.
ATC Swap Final Count - XX Nancy (njbaker) will tell you more about Artist Trading Cards. Check Post #6.
Twisted/Humor Cardfront Swap Final Count - XX Check with Michelle (tillyhead) on this. See Post #8.
3D Swap Final Count - XX Gayla (snowcountry311) will tell you about this one in Post #2
6x6 Technique Card Swap Final Count - XX Diane (diane617) is going to tell you about this in Post #10.
Mandatory Shoebox (Table) Project Bring your idea and all the supplies (precut but not prestamped or prepunched) needed for making your project with EVERYONE. Quality products are mandatory. There are several threads that discuss quality of swaps. Please read them if you are unsure. ALL the shoebox projects will be set out in the morning. You will proceed "round robin" to each of them and do ALL PROJECTS. YOU will move, YOUR PROJECT will not. GOOD DIRECTIONS WILL NEED TO BE POSTED ON YOUR SHOEBOX, you will not demo or be around for everyone to ask questions. When our final count is in, you will know how many kits to make. You will need to bring THREE extra completed shoebox projects (which includes hostess thank yous, and one for your table so that everyone can follow it for directions). Participation in the table shoebox project is mandatory. This project will generally be a full card, with layers and embellishment(s) or a simple 3D item. Please provide any special adhesive that's needed. Make these something youd be thrilled to get yourself.
Food Please indicate on the registration sheet the food item you will bring to share. Please be specific; dont just say food! Ideas: breakfast items, lunch items, including salads, desserts, snacks, canned soda ON ICE and water ON ICE. We love to try your food specialties! We will not have coffee, please plan ahead and bring it along.
Make & Take for All Our CNY gatherings always feature several large group Make & Takes, so if you would prefer to provide one instead of making a food item or along with one, please PM Meg (momoffive) or Nancy (njbaker).
Garage Sale Bring your stamps and stamping supplies to sell or trade. Current Stampin Up! items must be offered for trade only; you can sell retired items. Sorry but we cant be responsible for missing items so bring things at your own risk.
Goodie Bags for everyone! Everyone will leave with a bag of fabulous goodies. The goodie bags will all have the same value with some variations in colors, etc.
Door Prizes Donations from our own group are always welcome so let Meg (momoffive) know if youd like to make a door prize donation and what it is. We will be awarding the +1s from all of the swaps as well.
Gift Swap You dont have to sign up for this one, but if you would like to participate, bring a wrapped gift related to our stamping passion. We will draw for those so that everyone who brings one will also leave with one. Value on these should be in the $5-10 range, and stamped projects are always appreciated! If its something youd like to take home, its probably perfect! Be sure to include your name somewhere inside so the lucky winner knows who to thank. REMEMBER: Stamping-related!!!
Other Stuff Please bring your own labeled items for your personal stamping needs, including your favorite adhesive. These are the items you just cant stamp without, like: bone folder, paper cutter/scorer, scissors, straight edge, stamp cleaner and whatever else you can't stamp without! Did I say adhesive????? Adhesive! You will likely need lots of it.
Make and wear a nametag with your name and your SCS name so that we know you on sight.
Don't forget your camera!
Complete the registration form and forward with your $20 payment by 5 pm on Saturday, August 14th. All funds collected will be spent on the event. Your registration is complete when your payment is received. If you have any questions, please ask! Looking forward to seeing you in September.

Artist Trading Cards
(miniature works of Art, traded between Artists. Yes, that's you!)
ATCs are 2.5" x 3.5".
Please be certain to use quality cardstock.
At least two layers
One embellishment or dimensional addition is nice, but NOT mandatory.
They should be made with care. Something you are proud to trade and would enjoy receiving. Be sure to make one for yourself. If you have others that you have made before, bring them along as there are many who enjoy trading.
For any that don't know the following is a link to a diagram of how to get 10 ATCs cut from 1 8.5x11 sheet of card stock:
Cardfronts - Final Count 18 8/27/10 - ADDITIONAL THOUGHT: Including a "recipe" with the supplies you've used on your cardfront will be appreciated! "Guidelines" (with a little "borrowing" from Linda and other pals): Please do QUALITY WORK - with clearly stamped images - that you are proud of and would want to receive. This isn't about the number of layers or embellishments (using at least one embellishment and two layers would be great!), or whether you are new at this or not. "Quality" means straight cuts with no crooked, fuzzy edges, tears, wrinkles, etc. (unless that is part of the design), attaching your layers straight (again, unless part of your design), stamping images clearly with fully inked stamps, no edge of the stamp marks, no blobs of extra glue, etc. If you make a noticeable mistake while stamping your swaps, turn the cardstock over, cover with another layer, or start over. If the design looks fine without an embellishment, then an embellishment is not required. Even single layer cards can be incredible sometimes. Last of all, quality means to use cardstock that is a nice weight...not some flimsy stuff that feels like construction paper. No special venders are required. Most of all have fun and enjoy the creative process!

Reason: update
C'mon get twisted.... It's a Twisted/Humor Cardfront swap:twisted: (anyone know why I got this one, lol)
Put your big girl panties on and make a funny card!! The swap was posted as a cardfront swap, but I have a feeling that most swappers will require a full card to get their humor in. Where else will the punch line go beside inside the card? As it was originally listed as a cardfront swap, if you can do what you need to do to make a twisted/humor card with just a front, you won't be beaten up by the other swappers. If you need an inside to make your card complete, by all means do it up! See Arlene's post above in regards to paper/embellishment requirements for Cardfronts. here's a link to the "twisted" cards in my gallery. (I guess I don't post nearly as many as I make, lol).

Reason: more twisted people in CNY!
Receipe Swap.
6 x 6 receipe, made from "strong" card stock, not flimsy DSP, must of course include a receipe, and at least 1 embelishment, more would be great, stamp somewhere on the card. NVR on everything.
So lets make this a winner and sign up.
,
****note*** for those who do not know me, I am from England, and recipe is spelled receipe, so no, I am not spelling incorrectly, just differently. As I lived most of my adult life there, spelling of certain words just comes out of me with an English accent.
OH, LOOK the TECHNIQUE SWAP! Participating in this gives you an easy set of references for some new and different techniques.
We are making 6 by 6 inch pages, like a mini scrapbook, with instructions for the technique and a sample of the finished techique somewhere on the page. An ATC sized sample works well. I ask that you PM me with your choice. I will take dibs on a first come first served basis.

sounds like you'll be having a ball. I wish I could be there but by then I'll be way far away. I'll let Eileen, Mad and Edna know about this but you may be too far away for them.

I KNOW I'll regret this... but I'm in for all swaps.
My technique will be paper piecing.
For an "almost complete" list of techniques already used see POST 14 in this thread... Forums at Splitcoaststampers ~~ Unmentioned in that list, but already done are ... black magic, dryer sheets, and blank embossing.
It'd be great if we can avoid duplication... at least I think that's what Diane617 would say??? LOL
Diane is having some computer issues and will update as soon as she can. In the mean time, please post your technique on the thread as well as PM Diane. THANKS for your understanding.
