oops...my bad, mapquest says that they are 1 hour and 25 minutes apart.
Dolgeville is just 6 miles from Little Falls.

I've traveled from Schenectady to Dolgeville for years (and years...) and taking the NYS Thruway from Schenectady (exit #26) to Little Falls (exit 29A) and then the remaining 7 or so miles to Dolgeville takes about 1.25 hrs., keeping within the speed limit, of course!;)
I would love to be able to join you all on 8/18 in Dolgeville for your "party." I also have 3 or 4 others that may want to join in on the fun as well, but I need some more information from you all on exactly what it is we need to bring. I am embarassed to say I am not quite sure what you mean by "shoeboxes" and "card fronts" although we are, I would say, intermediate to (maybe?) advanced stampers. Would someone please post a description of all the things that you will be doing on the 18th? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
Hi Annette!
How exciting, we would love to meet you and your friends. This is our 5th central NY Gathering, and we have so much fun, but always like meeting new people.
Here are a few descriptions:
Shoebox: you would design a card or some sort of project, provide all the supplies for everyone at your table to make it....you have everything cut so that all p[eople have to do when we gather is put it together. You would in turn make one of everyone else's project who is at your table.
cardfront:
this is just simply the front piece of your card, you make it a little smaller than the size of a regular card front, you have all of these made in advance and just trade with everyone else when we are at the gathering. It is made slightly smaller that the card so everyone can take theirs home and mount it on a card.
ATC:
stands for Artist Trading Card, these are 2.5 in. x 3.5 in. and are basically the same as the card front in that they don't open like a regular card. Think of a sports trading card, basically that is all you use them for, kinda to collect them.
doorprize swap:
this is just something you have made with approximately a $5 value, you only need one, we ask everyone to bring their doorprize wrapped so no one can see it, then we have fun drawing numbers and opening the prize we go home with.
recipe swap:
these are basically 6x6 scrapbook pages only decorated with a recipe instead of a photograph.
we would love to see you and your friends there...hope you can make it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for all the information. I will be sure to pass it along to my family/friends and will let you know as soon as possible whether or not we can all make it on the 18th.
Did you make it to Dolgeville for the Violet Fest? I was there for the weekend's festivities and my family all had a good time.

Annette
no, I usually try and make it up there too, I love the feel of the town when the Violet Festival is in town. I had 2 bus trips that weekend though so I didn't make it this year.

Hi everyone! Just poppin' in to let the ladies in the Vestal area know.....the new stamp store there will be closing it's doors already the beginning of July. :( Everything in the store is 30% off now and the paper is 50%. So sad.

That IS sad. Hard to compete in the world of "big box".

That is SO true!! We dont even have a local store in Utica to support even if we wanted to! :(
Welcome Annette, hope to see you and a few of your friends in August! Do you live in Schenectady? My friend Jen does, but she can't come this time because she will be working at camp then. I used to live in Cohoes, then Cobleskill, now I'm out here in CNY. Anyway, hope to meet you and chat withyou soon!
mornig gals and happy father day to all you dads.....
i sadly have no news!!!
although kirstin has given her go ahead...
so i will do my best to oblige...
i am going to go get some pineapple.....and scarf that down...
perhaps i will goto jenn's and take a ride on her 4 wheeler...
well if that's all it takes you better be reporting shortly.
did the pineapple help?
how about a ride on the 4x4 and then michele's hot tub.
after that you could ride over to nancy's and take a swim to cool off and relax.
Kari, yes I do live in Schenectady (not the City, though) and my family/friends live in Montgomery and (southern) Herkimer Counties. We try to get together once every two months or so to stamp, but lately we've been going through withdrawals, at least I have, because we have all been too busy with that time consuming thing called - life! We are going to be planning to get together very soon and I can't wait!
I am originally from Dolgeville, and was sooo excited to see that you were going to have a gathering there. I nearly fell off my chair when I first read
it--, little 'ole Dolgeville, "my" town!! Woohoo! Just had to share my excitement with you all and I am looking foward to meeting you August 18th!

Save the date | February 2, 2008!!!!
I realize it is a long ways away at this point, but mark your calendars for February 2, 2008 for a gathering in the Elmira area. Details to follow as it gets closer.
