hahhaha! I think she's already there in her head!

She has one little school friend who's a bit of a drama queen, and this little child showed up at school in a bunny costume.. not BUGS BUNNEY ~ as I, like you, in my 30's (i'm 31) would prefer.. but in satin bunny ears.... *ugh* I can't belive it! She didn't wear provocative clothing. Probably because the school would never allow it, but the satin bunny ears were enough to guage the effect she was after. Luckily dsd prefers to be anything "dead' every year. Dead cheerleader, zombie girl, whatever.. anything with lots of fake bloody makeup and fabric.. lol

I dunno how it ill be like if and when I have my own children. I will definately be a strict one I think.. lol

Hey Ladies...hope everyone is doing well.

Grrr...so it hasn't been my week! I was prepping for my workshop Sunday night and my paper trimmer broke. It just died!!! So my dear sweet DH called home from work yesterday and asked how I was, I told him I was upset and told him about the paper trimmer. Anyhoo, he went to Michael's and picked one up for me after work. I used it last night to continue prepping and absolutely HATE it!!!! It's the Fiskers one with the guillotine arm and for the life of me I can't keep the paper from shifting if I try cutting more than 3-4 sheets at a time. Time for another trip back to Michael's, gonna get a rotary blade one (I had the Making Memories one I liked it a lot better than this one even though this one's more expensive, go figure!)

Any thoughts ladies??? Which one do you guys have? There are a couple at Staples and Office Depot too that I might check out....

I have the fiskars desktop rotary one. my SCS sisters bought it for me for my bday a couple years ago. I love it! But I have heard that the Making Memories one is great! So I was thinking of getting that one with the 50% coupy that mike's has right now....!

I don't personally like guillotine ones....

My DD is a Drama Queen...she lives for that crap...I told her to put it to good use and take drama in school and the look she gave me...LOL...I felt my skin cool with her stare...I laughed and shook my head and walked away...I didn't say a word...

Last year she took Drama! LOL

Gosh.. kids grow up so fast these days. I remember i was napping in the back room at our cottage and the kids didn't know I was there, they were all hanging out in the licing room and woke me up with thier screaming and laughing and ... SWEARING!!!! I woke up and came out and was like "what the heck is going on here"?? The look on thier little faces.. priceless!

And yeah, she's mature for her age. She hasn't ordered off the kids menu since she was like... 8? LOL

Thanks for the input ladies...think I'm gonna head out to Michael's and get the MM one since it's the one I had and know....the guillotine arm is just not working for me.

I don't have any girls, so I can only imagine what it's like to deal with the hormones...I was a HORRIBLE teenager so it's probably a good thing there's not a female mini me at there. But let me tell you, boys can be equally as horrible!!! My 11yo has attitude coming of all parts of his body on some days...sometimes I just want to poke out his eyes at some of the looks he gives. Ahhh...to have back the good old days where they just listened to us regardless of anything else....

Maybe its because she didn't come out of MY womb, but there are many a time I roll my eyes. It just wasn't the same way when I was a kid, and I have my own ideas about how children should act and treat adults.

I don't want her to feel left out, and I don't want her to feel unwelcome. but I think sometimes bf doesn't teach her the difference between parents who are together, and parents who are apart. It feels sometimes like he has two different families. She borrows my things without asking, like my laptop, and my hairbrush, etc. And bf never says anything. I just think she needs to learn a little more respect towards me.

Holy moly.. did that just come out? sorry.. didn't mean to vent but apprently that has been bothering me! lOL

A friend of mine has three boys and she tell me the stories...but she does spoil them because of guilt...she works two jobs and is hardly ever home...so they know how to work her pretty well...

haha.
I think bf lets his dd get away with anything because of guilt too.
But i hear ya.. I do all the crap at home, so you're right! It should go through me!!

I told bf that he has to tell her to take it easy on the laptop.
Its not that i don't want her to play on the computer, its just that I have all my business stuff on there, as well as photos and other things. If she acidentally opens up an email or something with a virus or downloads something too big, its ME who has to deal with the consequences.. and I'm not willing.

He has a lappy - he can let her use HIS.

I banned the kids from using mine...as soon as I got a virus I was that's it! No one but me goes on my laptop. If something goes wrong with it I can only blame myself...

I love the whole "I'm not stupid I know what I'm doing" phrase Meanwhile they start clicking on this and that and the next thing you know, you've got Viagra Pop ups everytime you go into your email..lol...then you really start to wonder! WTH...

LOL...I dont mean to scare you...I hope I'm not scaring you
I do all my business stuff on my Laptop too.

Well I have a 16yr old, my DH has 16yr old, and a son of 13. All teenagers...all hormonal...lol...And all are treated equally by me in my household. No one gets away with anything...LOL...I'm strict. But mine is the worst...she has ODD which is not pleasant to deal with...that's a story in itself.

my 2 step kids live in another province but are here in the summer...so what should be summer vacation turns into a UFC tourny every other day...good lord!

No don't...you sit her down and say... "I'm sorry but you'll no longer be able to use my laptop and will have to use your fathers. The reason isn't because I don't trust you it's because I'm afraid of others using it. I'm afraid of getting a virus and lose my work, photos etc. I want to be the only one responsible if that does happen...then I am the only one to blame, not you or anyone else"

I was afraid too at first when letting my step daughter use my laptop but that is pretty much what I told her years ago and even though she was a little hurt she was fine with it the next day.

I think kids need to be taught respect whether they are your flesh and blood or not. I have a gf who sometimes stays over with her 11 yo son and while he's here, I treat him as if he's one of mine (even though his mom is here too). As long as they're in MY house they will follow the rules of MY house regardless if those rules apply at their house (obviously to a certain extent). Ie. there are certain shows that he's allowed to watch and my kids are not, therefore he doesn't get to watch it here. OR my kids are only allowed x # of hours in front of the tv (whether it be watching shows or playing games), that still applies if they have friends here. There are exceptions of course, my kids are expected to finish everything on their plate before leaving the table, but I will not force someone else's kid to eat. But he knows now that when he's here he has to also listen and respect me and DH.

Holy cow, I sound really MEAN!!! lol...I just think that kids are really smart and will try and push their boundaries. As long as you can back up your rules/restrictions with a reason that they can understand then they will learn to accept and respect it (although they might be upset at first).

I was afraid too at first when letting my step daughter use my laptop but that is pretty much what I told her years ago and even though she was a little hurt she was fine with it the next day.

I wish we had a "normal" custody schedule. Ours is all over the place, and her mother signs her up for everything under the sun and then expects that we will go and pick her up and drop her off. Her mother shows up to pick her up in a mini skirt, then realizes I'm there and say "oh - sorry, I'm a mess, I just put on the first thing I saw" (uh huh). She also either emails, calls or texts my bf almost every day. In the beginning it was EVERY day. Its always related to either schedule, or $$. But she could do without the extra commentary. Sometimes i wonder what the heck is wrong with her. She's a good looking european blondie. I don't know why she's not found some other sucker to .... sucker.....lol

*sigh*

Hopefully your bf sees the game she's playing. Some women give the rest of us such a bad name.

Well, for the most part, I think he does.
I think alot of his actions come out of guilt and inexperience too though.

Well, enough about my pathetic emotions. Table that for another night with a bottle of wine! LOL!!

This 1 I can answer! Because she had the #1 Pawn....her kid...and you'll never get rid of her.....
I know the kind and taught a few of them a lesson.
The best weapon you have against a deviant parent is to love their child! More than they ever expect you could.
It's sounds bad or evil but it isn't...it's just the way it looks by how it's typed out...
