Good morning peeps! Happy FRIDAY - WOOT!!!

I'll have to pass on Marineland in July. With DD in summer school everyday, outings will be at a minimum. That weekend is out too. That's the World Cup finale - Miss Di, we're coming to your place on the Sunday!!!

I got notification that my pre-order shipped - WOOT!!! And only one day after I ordered, despite the fact that the site was saying 2 to 4 days for shipping. Can you say ecstatic? The only thing back-ordered was the wallpaper folder. AND, yesterday my Caroline gave me my own copy of the catty because she had two - DOUBLE WOOT!!

Right now I'm chilling with game 2 of the day and then (in between games), I'm going to try to get some creating in! There's only 7 more school days (not counting weekends) and I haven't even begun to work on teacher gifts - YIKES!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Teresa- how long does it take to get to my place from yours (or Marineland if you know)?
...Great Plan, except you would have to go initially that "special" weekend with your tickets from RBC then pay the upgrade on the day of the visit (that's what the "flyer" says)
I have a pass for the zoo though if anyone is planning to go there?! I can go for free and probably get kids in too. My pass covers 4 kids up to 15 or 16 I think.

I'm off to a cottage this weekend...This was supposed to be my best friends wedding (tomorrow) but they ended up eloping a couple of weeks ago....so now it's just a weekend at the cottage! They will stay until the end of next weekend as their honeymoon.

I cannot remember how long it takes to go to your house. Guess I better take a trip to you so I can refresh my memory.

Kristine, I can't believe you didn't make him a card. My friend even made a card for her kids to give to her ex-husband! Glad you got to have lunch with him.
Janet, I really miss my dad too and he passed away in June too, but that was in 1994.....16 years ago. He was such a gentle, wise man with a really great sense of humour!

Good morning peeps!!! Hope everyone had a FABULOUS weekend!

Krissie, I didn't make my DH or dad a card either. I've been crazy busy getting end of year teacher gifts. I called my dad (he lives in Nova Scotia) and spoiled my DH all day. He didn't have to lift a finger. I made oatmeal muffins for breakfast and for dinner we had T-bone steak, new potatoes and green beans. DD made cupcakes for dessert that looked like little BBQ grills! They're in my mobile uploads on FB if you want to check them out.

Today, DD is off school as it's her "spare" at school, so she doesn't have to write an exam. The dudes are off to school in a bit. I need to finish off the teacher gifts. I can't believe I leave it this later every year, but there you have it!

In other news, I did receive my There She Goes stamps on Friday and made DH a card with the set I won in the Blog Hop. I'll have to take a pic and share it with all of you later. If you go to the site, I refuse to be held responsible if you place an order...the stamps are HYSTERICAL!!! If you're going to purchase, I own "A Woman's Place", "Domestic Goddess" and "Loads of Fun", so don't order those as we can share whenever we get together.

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS day!!!

Well, I went on a murderous killing spree this weekend. Knocked off a bird that flew in front of the car on hwy 20, then about 8 hours later slaughtered a racoon. The racoon took out the grill, a fog light and something underneath the car is hanging. What a mess! It's not my fault because they were both kamikaze but I still feel terrible.

It was nuts but this is what you get for driving out in the country at 4 am. We later saw some deer but it was day time so I was able to avoid that easily.

Teresa, you killer, you! I didn't know you had it in you! Sorry about your car!
Today, we are doing the local sights. My cousins are here from Holland, so they are used to rain. We'll just carry some umbrellas!

Teresa- you're welcome to remind yourself of how long it takes to get to my place any time!! Sorry to hear about your car and the animals. That's unfortunate...I killed an animal once, I don't know what it is but I remember being scared out of my wits!

Ina- have fun with your visiting cousins! Let me know when you want to hold the copics class.

Ladies- Suzanne and I were talking about doing a stamping retreat. We can rent a cottage somewhere, relax, eat, enjoy each other's company, and stamp to our heart's desire. We were thinking maybe a 3 day weekend in September since prices for the summer season is high and most only do weekly rentals, and for those of us with little ones that won't be possible. What do you think??? Any takers??

A cottage sounds interesting. What would be the cost? I'd need to budget that.

well depending on how many of us are going, I don't see it costing more than $150 each. Suzanne was looking at some places so she'll be a better person to answer but I think the cost of the cottage averages about $500 for a weekend in September and if there's at least 4 of us then it would be $125 +taxes.

Sorry I wouldn't be able to make it in September. Work every other weekend, and doing the cottage thing Labour Day weekend and the other free weekend I have a nursing class reunion. Never missed one yet in 42 years, so I don't intend to miss this year. (No we don't have a reunion every year, but we've been graduated 42 years)

Teresa, are you from Dutch heritage? I didn't know that. Do you speak and write it, or do you write in English?

WHOA, you girls are light weights! LOL
I was thinking something a little more rustic, no spa (funding factors!)
And somewhere we can prep our own food so we don't have
to eat restaurant food every meal...Looking to go on the "cheap"

Maybe something like this....$300 for a weekend in September and if we make it a long weekend (just stay the Thurs or Monday) I'm sure it can't be that much more in cost...
with 5 people it would probably be under $100 for the "weekend". Add to that some gas and food.....and you have to eat no matter where you are!

This one is really nice looking, but the off season rate isn't posted. $800 per week during peak season makes me think that this is easily affordable for us for 3 days or whatever in Sept!
I have emailed this person to see what the cost would be for time time we are looking....

Yes, I am glad you are looking into something more reasonably priced. Most of us have 'funding' issues.
Theresa, you do have a Dutch heritage then. My second cousin was here a few years ago to attend Sherbrooke University in Quebec and really hit it off with my DD. They also correspond in English.

I think Suzanne has the right idea! I don't think we'll have time for "spa" 'cause we'll be too busy crafting!

And, if we each cook a meal or two, that'll get us through the weekend...I'll even bring my stand mixer and make the bread!

I like the second one that you found Suzanne..hopefully the owner gets back to you on the price for a weekend.

K...we're off to a baby/toddler birthday party. Catch up with all of you later!

I think Suzanne has the right idea! I don't think we'll have time for "spa" 'cause we'll be too busy crafting!

And, if we each cook a meal or two, that'll get us through the weekend...I'll even bring my stand mixer and make the bread!
OMG...Homemade bread! I can't promise that I won't follow you home Christyne! YUMMY!

LOL! It would be an awfully tight fit in my 892 sq. ft. condo!!!!

I volunteer to make the bread for the weekend!!! That'll be my contribution...I can make cinnamon buns too...and they're better than Cinnabon. Just sayin'.

That's OK Christyne, me and the bread maker will just live in the kitchen! LOL
My condo is about the same size, it would be tight for sure....unless we get rid of the hubby and kids! LOL

I could get rid of the kids...but I'll keep the hubby. He's good in bed.

I didn't even notice the quake! I was here....but don't know how I "missed" it! Maybe my chair has such good shocks that it absorbed the quake movement?! LMAO

And there is no response yet from cottage lady....POOPIE DOO!!
