Yep. Bummer, but Trent's an uber workaholic now that he's clean ( says it keeps him sober, last interview I read ), so I imagine that the schedule is a lot for anyone.
They'll be a loss, but I'm sure that whoever replaces them will be equally as talented.
...and front row is the ONLY place to see a NIN show. ;-)
Kudos to your DH!!!
I've not had floor tickets for two gigs out of nineteen, and one of those I ended up there anyhow.
The other, the ticket was a gift and I was recouperating from a major surgery, so she thought it best that we sit.... had it been MY choice, I'd have risked those stitches, darn it! LOL
Heard this might be his last go-round w/ an album! :( at least that's what the dh took away from the last concert... he said that trent said "well, that's it for me. nothing left" WHAT?!?!

Bah... kick your hubby. Both for the blatant disregard for his awesome wife, and for having so little faith in Trent.
The post from 12/17 on the NIN site implied that something is in the works... whatever it is, it'll be awesome.

Anybody wanna come clean my house?
Will trade services for cookies, fudge or deep tissue reiki massages, or if you prefer something from the male in my house, he makes fabulous gumbo, cajun shrimp skewers and grilled chicken with spinach pesto. ;)
As I was sitting here, feeling sorry for myself because I have this insane amount of shopping to still do, in spite of my months and months of preparation, cussing out my irresponsible brother ( he didn't even attempt to set aside any funds to buy gifts for his kids! I realize that he's just about jobless at the moment due to weather and the economy, but if he can afford to smoke, he can afford presents IMO... nevertheless, Chris and I are intervening and getting a few things for the two youngest. My nephew is only three and wouldn't understand, and my niece is a spoiled brat who will somehow use this as an opportunity to aid her mother in attempting to have my brother put in jail ), and my boss ( for throwing this half arsed last minute adopted family project at me. I'd considered her just doing it, but she's broke at the moment, and I honestly fear that she will spend the money that was donated and just buy a few small things for the family, and the kids don't deserve that ) as I'm rushing around trying to get crap done.... something occured to me...
I have gift cards!!!
I don't need to sulk - I can SHOP, and it's guilt free! LOL
I took some similar-type photos for ya, too, Kash. Gotta get them off the camera. All told we got somewhere between 12 and 14 inches. Maine is still getting hammered (lucky ducks!)
Good morning Gael..how is your eye? Sketch Challenge Round 2 is open...along w/some other swaps not due until March.--No pressure, just info. Okay, I'm gonna go weigh myself, take a shower, eat some breakfast, go to Curves, the PO and someplace to purchase wrapping paper.

And I'm wondering if there is ice on windsheild w/18 degree weather. BRRRR! I just can't imagine how northernerns brave this nonsense. Hats and scarves off to y'all!

eyes are ok, no pokes lately.
Alafair is bummed this AM, every school bordering our town has either 90 min or 2 hour delay. We got nothing. She is in the shower now... I admit, I was hoping to go back to bed, too!
Wow, busy day. I have to call my LL (who kinda creeps me out) cuz the bathroom ceiling has a huge crack in it - all of a sudden - wasn't there yesterday morning. (Fortunately Alafair forgot cuz last night she was refusing to take a shower because of it - yeah, wee drama queen is right!)

Not just the windshield, darlin, there is ice on everything... but my photos are just snow... and the snow princess of course ;)

When does Alafair get out? My guys finished Friday and are out until the 5th.

LJ's pic looks a lot like our area, except her roads are clearer.
We got another 2-3" last night, and 4" throughout the day yesterday. MI and WI are taking turns, I swear. One gets nailed, and then within hours, the other is getting it.
This is the worst winter in ages... we've had wicked snowstorms, but nothing this severe for this long since I can't remember when... according to my weather geek father ( the man needs a new hobby, I swear ), there's been nothing even close to it it since he moved back ( 1996 ) and the archived pattern says that the last winter that we had in comparison was in 1978.

awww... Kash, are you sure you don't wanna relocate? ;)
It really isn't this bad all the time.... but 18 degree is commonplace from mid December through about the first week of February ( usually colder ).
Us northeren folk don't think of this as 'north'. At least not in MI anyhow. Our UP has had imapssable roads since Thanksgiving, depending on which sid eof the penninsula they're on, and the upper mitten has had more than a foot of snow since October.
Now THAT is cold!! LOL
I'm off to get ready for work... and slip slide my way to the office and holiday shopping.
Usually I hate driving the POS Lumina, but today I'd be grateful for it - it handles this crud better than my lighweight Ford!
HI girls my cell phone woke me up! My DR called and I have some swelling in my spine! He is now refuring me to a Spine DR. So have to wait on that phone call now.
Now I think I am headed back to bed for a bit. Have a good day!

YUCK!! I wanna move to Florida!! LOL
It's a dad thing, I think, Roberta. Mine is glued to the Weather Channel all the time... Well, not all the time, the man is in constant motion with construction projects and the like, but during his down time it is all weather channel all the time

Does this mean relief is on its way? I sure hope so!!
Yes, I made it to work despite the -30 windchill and -8 temp ;) Troopers we are up here! Now, get this, we already broke our December record for snowfall, and there is another 10-13" coming our way before Christmas. YIKES. I have to be here (as everyone else is on vacation) so this will be an interesting 96 hours to say the least. I will probably be sporadically on. Tomorrow night I have a basketball game (yes during the snowstorm, I am going it's just a mile from home). but it doesn't start until 8:30 CST (gotta love those late prime-time ESPN broadcasts - NOT)
The picture mcfadden posted is the view outside my patio doors. Lovely isn't it????
The only sad news of the day, is I didn't make the team charter to orlando, so he's gonna have to explain to me when he gets back why he didn't tell me when we were leaving. The funny thing, is as we were driving to work (Mel picked me up) the buses passed us headed to to campus. We know it was for the team cause they said "UW Football" on the front. I Told mel she needed to do a U-turn and follow them to the stadium.....but I'm here so you know that didn't happen LOL!

It's a "LJ" thing too ;) I'm glued to that station during weather storms....

I usually just go on www.noaa.com since they feed TWC. Of course I do watch during violent thunderstorms/tornados for as long as the satellite is working.

LOL.. that could very well be.
My father watches three things: TWC, Sc-Fi channel and golf ( and he is not a golfer ).
Quirky little man. Speaks several Asian languages, is a grill ninja, but on many days cannot remember where he left a shoe or how to program his VCR ( forget DVD player! My sister and I bought him one three years ago and it just collects dust and knick knacks )
Whacha doing? Reading my mind? Yeah, you sound sweet and southern!
I cannot get my photo thing to open the photos so I can resize. It is just opening them as blanks, though I know they are truly there.
AAAAAARRRGGHHH, Kenny Rogers and his destruction of one of my favorite carols came on the radio! His version of the Carol of the Bells gave birth to my theory that just because you have the means to record a Christmas album does not mean you should! UGH!!
Back to photo problem... I searched for other programs and seem to have none. I will change my avie right now and then restart computer and hopefully that will take care of the problem...
Picture was taken through the window after she cleared off some of the snowballs she had been hurling at me (inside and warm of course)
OK popping in here real quick before I head up to shop in the frozen Tundra...
LJ That picture is very pretty but I though Wisconsin would have WAY more snow by now... We are at 24" and still snowing, they are forecasting for "more" on Wednesday...they just dont understand there are other people in the State besides Seattle....
Did I tell you all we had a tree come to visit? Yep, fell on the house, no damage or injuries... it just had too much snow on it and fell over...

OK, off to do some shopping
Later Taters!
Some places to have more, perhaps I will take my camera along with me tomorrow and hit some of the big spots downtown. We are waiting for another 10-13" to fall before Christmas.
I thought of you yesterday, while watching the Jets/Seahawks game which was in Seattle. Snowy all game. Amazing amount of snow you got (and not used to it) yet they were able to get the game underway.....
Do you have enough equipment there to remove all that snow even?
Whacha doing? Reading my mind? Yeah, you sound sweet and southern! Yes, I have ESPn and ESPn2 (get it? ESP)

It's warmed up to 28 degrees at 12:30--isn't that considered cold?

- Baby It's Cold Outside Lyrics
I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
well Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour
The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
C'mon baby
I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so delicious
My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look delicious
Well maybe just a half a drink more - Never such a blizzard before
I've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your comb - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now
But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that old out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
Baby it's cold outside
Brr its cold.
It's cold out there
Cant you stay awhile longer baby
Well..I really shouldn't...alright
Make it worth your while baby
Ahh, do that again.

First one is a snow angel I made for you after I hung up the phone. (see fuchsia and lime green really are my fave colors. All my jackets/coats are this color and my scarf is Lime - not sure if you can see that in the photo...
This here is my front door. I knocked the snow off the bush so the lights would shine through, though they are not visible in the photo...
Close up of Roger (snowman) and Osbert (penguin)
Penguin was named after a character in a book. It is very cute and good to use to explain why your kids don't get everything they ask for at Christmas. Might want to check it out, Scrappy! ;)
A couple more... here is Alafair on Sunday, the snow was still coming down, almost non-stop since Friday, though not always terribly heavily...
This one is my back yard (The reason we actually live here) taken from the backstep. I am actually still inside while taking this. On the other side of that hill way in the back is an almost mirror image to what you can see, except it is treed and instead of a parking lot and apartments, there is the river. The red "dot" about one third of the way in, from the left side is Alafair.
The basketball hoop is not usually facing that way, we moved it so the plow lady could get that whole side without worrying about hitting it...
Hooray for photos! Your snow is prettier than LJ's--and so much of it. I've actually made snow angels--in college. That's when I realized you get wet playing in the snow. It's high enough to cover penquin--my goodness. I would be wearing my flannels (like I am now), wool socks and a sweater inside under a blanket reading a book if there was that much snow outside.
And I think you look cute in your pink and green--easy to spot!
Okay, I've really got to go this time. I'm hungry and I'm going to wrap presents while watching Holiday Inn and White Christmas.
