Are you serious, people go OUTSIDE in that temperature? Can't you just stay inside and stamp? I mean, isn't that like instant frozen parts that aren't covered? Like a nose, or fingers or something?

And not going to worry about overage minutes. LJ-even though you say Brett is flirty w/all the girls--he always seems to notice when you aren't some place he expects you to be. Isn't this like the 3rd time he's mentioned, "Hey where were you last night?" What does that tell you girl. Also I agree w/Roberta--even if this turns into a great friendship--those happen to be priceless--go for it!

YUP we work here.....It's got to be about 25-30 below air temperature (without windchill) for poeple around here to actually stay home from work. It's called scarves, hats, mittens, and a very warm down coat

So when ya'll wanna start raving how cold 32-35 is, just remember, we start wearing shorts when it gets that warm in the winter here

hiya ladies!!!

So I taught my very first class on Sat. & it was sooo fun!!! The DT coordinator said that it was unheard of for a first timer to have more than 1 sign up for a class & I had 4!!! Woo hoo!!!!
But on a sad note, the DH took the camera to Vegas for the weekend, so I didn't take any pics... I can't wait for the next round of class... I hope I get more signups!

ok so I thought it would be fun to ask your opinions on this:
My dh is really busy at work and it doesn't look like it will slow down before Christmas so I thought I would make him an offer to make his life easier (he may not go for it but I will present him with it anyway) I thought I would offer to do his shopping for him if he gives me a $ amount or I could give him style #;s and web sites where he could get what I really want so my dilemma:

I want nestabilities but i can never figure which ones, hence i habven't gotten any I know I want oval scallop and non scallop but what size set is best? some are petite don't know what that means. any suggestions. I may want circles also.

I want some copics, we are cutting back alot this year so I don't think I can get a whole color set what colors should I get if I was to get maybe 12 -15?

Need to have Gina's paper if I am using copics I believe, she has 2 weights which one? and I think I remember black su ink isn't best with copics, so which one?

what have I forgotten?
thanks for the sale on the nesties Yoorah that might come in handy.
I am guessing I would get more if I let him shop, but it wouldn't be what I really want right now.
He will probably say about $100

Su, def. go for the large in the nesties

for copics, get colors you know you will use a lot-1 of each- like black, gray, red, blue, yellow, orange, pink, purple- . and then when you start using them, you can start getting the different shades.

as for the Gina K paper, I have no idea, LJ would know I'm sure!

Pm'ing you Yoorah

I may want circles also. The difference between large and petite has to do w/the size of the scallop. In the large scallop whether oval, circle, square, etc. it is referring to the size of the hump, so the large scallop has a bigger hump than the petite scallop. I didn't understand the difference either and had to read a lot of reviews before I finally stumbled across it. However, please, please, please, when you are ready to purchase any set of Nesties--go to www.Cutathome.com, sign up for the 40% VIP member coupon and w/shipping the set of 4 is $56 or $57. That is the best buy around.

I want some copics, we are cutting back alot this year so I don't think I can get a whole color set what colors should I get if I was to get maybe 12 -15?

Need to have Gina's paper if I am using copics I believe, she has 2 weights which one? Someone did a test on the 80 lb and I think that is okay. I can check my delete blog files or just go on her blog and look. and I think I remember black su ink isn't best with copics, so which one? For a really good explanation about copics and ink, go to www.whippersnapperdesigns.com, there is a really good explanation regarding alcohol inks and water based inks. Only the site is down for planned maintenance. Go back on Tuesday, really, it's very interesting. According to the WishRAK rules, the inks that can be used for Copics are: Adirondack Dye Ink, Brilliance Pigment Ink (you will need to heat set this ink.)

what have I forgotten?

Also, Gabby is the expert on copic's--she's given me lots of advice.

Ms. S,

Have you checked this out?
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capt...faq/index.html

Fairly comprehensive info on the nestiblilities and the size difference and what they look like - small and large. Having said that, I love having the whole set and use both big and small sets.

I prob. like the ovals a tiny bit more then the circles. My favorite set however is the rectangles.

Cheapest for a whole set is via cutathome.com with their 40% off coupon you can sign up for. Comes to about $60 for the whole large, small, plain and scalloped set (circles, ovals, squares, rectangles, long rectangles).

If you want fewer, Joann per info above is prob. the best deal I've seen so far.

Don't know what to tell you about copics. Got a few. Like them. But mostly use prisma markers.

Found as long as I use momento ink on Papertrey white or Georgia Pacific, neither copics (or prismas) blead past the lines (it will bled through the back with all papers)

Hey Su!

You definitely want to get Memento Tuxedo Black Ink or Adirondack Pitch Black ink when you use Copic or Prisma markers. The inks will not bleed or smear and you will not need to heat-set them first either. I've used Copic markers on PTI and SU cardstocks with no problem.

If I can advise a couple of colors: Skin White, Cool Shadow, Warm Gray #1Lipstick Red, Raw Silk, Light Walnut or Sepia, Pale Olive, Yellow-Green, Nile Green, Mustard, Antwerp Blue, and Sugared Almond Pink are some of my favorite colors.

MWAH!

Dadgum, I got you two mixed up again, it should read Sue!
And of course like an idiot, I ran out and bought some of this miracle paper. . .

I am trying to sign up again for the coupn and when the send the confirming email the password is left blank so I cannot sign in to my account on the site.
I know they are supposed to send monthly but they seemed to have forgotten me after the first email.

hi ladies~ I hope everyone is doing well. I am having major computer problems so I have MIA for a couple days. I am hoping to be up and running tomorrow but I will probably have a new e-mail address. In an effort to save money, DH screwed up the phone and computer so I haven't had both for several days now.

Hello all,

120lb Gina K card-stock is WONDERFUL. I'll never buy SU WW again. It's that good, smooth and thick, oh it's called LUXURY for a reason.

Nesties - I love my ovals, I have the petite ones, the rectangle ones are on my wish-list to santa...I also have the circles (love those too) and the square scallops (I Just cut the straight squares to the size I Need),

Oh and the label holder nesties are really nice too ($12 at HL plus I used my 40% coupon for those and got em under $10) I go the ones that have the holes on the ends for brads. Been using them like crazy.

As far as inkpads, I've found the SU Basic Black to work really good on the GinaK paper with Prismacolor markers, no bleeding at all

ok thanks to all your imput here is my christmas:
14 copic markiers from icopic.com
scallop and straight edge rectangle nesties large. from JoAnn.com with the sale the price was the same as cutathome with the discount but joann has free shipping so that made it cheaper.
well of course i need the blender and Gina k was the only one who had it so I had to place an order there. I got a blender pen for the copic ganola glazed brads, pure luxery card stock , and crystal lacquer applicator bottles.
So I still have $6 to spend What do you think?

Oh shoot I forgot to get the black ink from Gina K.
