I thought I'd start a thread so we can chat about hotel, shopping, and travel information for Tracy's gathering!! It's kind of silly for people that don't need to know to have to read all of our MANY posts!!

I think it looks great. I'll send the link to the hotel and this thread to everyone in our group. I'm sure they'll be OK with it. By the way I like the looks of the heated pool...hehehe.
If anyone wants to help with researching a hotel, PLEASE jump in. I've already spent hours. And, unfortunately, you get what you pay for. So, what is our upper limit? I'd be happy to spend more to get more. I just know that we are all on a budget these days.
And, truthfully, you can go crazy reading reviews. We all have different levels of acceptance. What's OK with some may not be OK with others. And many people won't leave a good review, but after a bad experience are quick to tell everyone... KWIM??

I know, Nancy, because I spent hours last Fall looking for a room for a Nov. stay in Buffalo and they all seemed bad if you read the ratings! I do appreciate your time! It really is difficult to find something reasonable $$ that is clean, doesn't smell, and where you can't hear everyone else in the hotel.

Btw, weren't you guys thinking about the motel/hotel that is down the street from last year's? Or did you already check that out?
I don't get a vote, but I didn't have any problem with last year's, but then again, I'll sleep in a tent. Hey, now there's an idea!

I've actually stayed at this Comfort Inn (just a few months ago)... when we went to Buffalo for a concert. It's very nice, right across from the airport. I'd have no qualms staying there again or recommending it.
But it is higher than we normally pay.

Hah - I slept in my tent in Tracy's back yard 2 years ago and the wind blew it over! Thanks to Tracy's husband, Greg, my stuff ended up neatly packed in their garage when I got back from the day of stamping!

The comfort in is nice. It has an indoor pool and a decent workout room right next to it. There is a bar/restaurant attached. There's a coffee shop right next door..... Tim Horton's. I've asked about using the breakfast area, don't have that answer yet.

Okay...thought I would pop in real quick. Still trying to convince DH to go to Lions Convention w/o me & I can go to Buffalo.....sigh......
There's still time and spots so just keep after him. I saw your Couple's Black & White Card that Barbaralynn posted...its' so elegant. I put it in my favorites. You should do that for a shoebox sometime.
Let me chime in here. Lou Ann, I checked out both the sites, doesn't matter to me. I see the Comfort Inn is a bit more but I'm sure that must be nice. The Comfort is 20 min from the church and the Motel is 11 min. I'll get into AAA & see what they might say. Will let you know what I find.
OK, in my AAA books, can't seem to find the correct Comfort Inn but the Lord Amherst Hotel is 2-diamond rating out of 5. The Comfort Inn "University" in Amherst has 3-diamond (not sure why the other isn't listed). I'll call AAA in Wysox tomorrow. I see VERY few in this book above a 3-diamond. Sorry I'm not much help yet. Try again tomorrow night. Night!!

Just went into Hotels.com & found a lot of negative reviews on Hotel.
I read a few of them. Of course some people are just extremely picky but you usually get what you pay for. It's inexpensive but maybe it would be better to stay at the Comfort Inn. Let us know what you find out from AAA.
Good morning, Ladies....we decided that the Microtel isn't an option? I think when I did the research it was around $60 for a night. Not bad if 2 or more are staying in a room.
