• This will be a Halloween/Fall themed Shoebox Swap! It’s never too early to start on them!
• Card Expectations: Halloween/Fall designs only please! There aren’t any vendor requirements for this swap, but please make sure that you use good quality cardstock, stamps and ink.
o Due to the size of the tables, it would be helpful if you would make (2) samples of your card.
o Be sure to include a few extra’s of everything in case of boo boo’s.
o Envelopes aren’t required, so if you want to design them to match your card, you will need to include them in each kit.
o Make sure that you provide all tools/supplies to make your cards. That will include brads, glue dots, dimensionals etc. That will NOT include general adhesive (i.e. mono/SNAIL/big honker ATG guns etc.)
o If want some sparkle or glitter on your cards: since we are tight on space/outlets, you may want to limit the embossing etc, or have that part of your card pre-made for everyone.
o You can add written directions for your card (if needed) in your box. This is really helpful if you are using a special technique or your card needs to be assembled in a certain order.
o A “recipe” for colors, vendors, stamps etc. is a nice touch too…We will all want to re-create these later!
• “Tricks or Treats” – bring a little something for each “ghoul’s” treat bag. Anything goes! Let Pat or Beth know what you are planning, so that we can keep duplicates to a minimum!
o Examples: brads, candy, small altered notebook, stickles, ribbon, small stamps – the possibilities are endless!
• Trick Or Treat Bag, Box or Container Challenge – how can you go trick or treating without something to put all the goodies in? This challenge is up to you to be creative. Your BB or C (bag, box or container) should be at least the size of a coffee mug and no bigger than a basketball. (thanks Vic!) We will be giving out awards again for this challenge…..
• Supplies: Adhesive, scissors and any other items you can’t stamp without. Stamp cleaner and/or cleaning pad is a good idea….make sure that your tools are labeled too! We all seem to buy the same supplies and need to be able to tell them apart.
• Optional 6x6 Scrapbook Swap – you will need to create a (2) page layout for every member who signed up for this swap. No vendor requirements, but please make sure that you are using quality materials and at least 3 different embellishments on your pages. (ribbon, Jolee’s, Brads etc.) There is also no requirements on a theme…you can use any event or holiday you want. BUT - Please let Pat or Beth know what you are planning for your pages so that we don’t have any duplicates. The idea would be that each person has a good start on a 6x6 album and can start placing pictures in it immediately!
• Camera – you’ll want to have yours. We will be posting pix on SCS after the event.
• Nametags – Will be supplied, but feel free to wear one of your own if you have one.
• Garage Sale: We will have a table set aside if you have any stamps/supplies/crafts to sell. Make sure that you have your name and price on everything. Pat and I are not responsible for these items.
• Demo’s: Per SCS rules, we are not supposed to make this a “party” type of event. But, if you would like to bring in your catalogs/brochures etc. we can get them out after the swap is over!
• FEEL FREE TO BRING A SWEET TREAT TO SHARE! Chocolate is ALWAYS welcome!
Pat- Just a suggestion, maybe for the 6x6 scrapbook swap each swapper could sign up for a different holiday that way we could come out of it with a entire scrapbook! That would be awesome! Also in the old post I commented that I just found out from my mom our family reunion is the same day as the swap. Still hold my place for the swap if you would. I am not sure what I will do yet. If I do go do you think I could make up the kits and additional swap items to send through Beth? I really really don't want to miss out on this.

Joann,
Absolutely!! We wouldn't want to miss out on your clever creations. I will defer all scrapbook questions to Beth cause I know nothing:cool:
I will DEFINITELY be there this time! I'm going to make my husband bring me so I don't get lost again.
Not to be picky, ;) but the registration form still says Christmas in July Swap. You might want to update it.
Karen
Karen, We all have those "moments" and I for one - always get lost (or my car breaks down) LOL
Beth was teasing me about "Hobby Lobby" - I mentioned I can't shop in those stores because I just get overwhelmed with mix and matching stuff -- too much to choose from and I certainly wouldn't drive without my Tom-tom

You were missed and hope you enjoyed your cards!
Betty...whenever you want to go to Hobby Lobby, you just let me know! I would be more than happy to be your escort around that store - LUV IT!

Whoever signs up for the scrapbook page, will pick a holiday or event and let Pat or I know what they chose. We can make sure that there aren't any duplicates. Also, all of the pages don't need to be the exact same, but you do need to stick to one theme. That way all of the scrapbooks are fairly similar and equal. I LOVE Halloween...but would hate to have a whole scrapbook with Halloween layouts! I don't take enough pix for that!

Thanks Beth- That answers a lot of questions I want to do the Christmas pages. I'll add that to the 1st post.
I just saw a commercial for the 8/8 stamping convention at the Sharonville Convention Center..I'm going- anyone else?
I've gone several times and last year Pam & I went, but I don't think I'll make it this year. There is so much stuff, it is great fun and there are lots of "Make & Takes", but you have to be willing to wait. I've always gone on the Friday night Private Show, so I don't know what it will be like on Sat, but I suspect it will be very busy - but it should be worth the trouble.
I will be picked up in the morning by Mr. Postman. They only come to this location once a day. So I probably won't be first.
Vic
Let me correct this - I will not be picked up in the morning by Mr. Postman - the registration will. I'm sure that if Pam has read the original post, she is still rolling on the floor laughing, while others of you ladies may wonder just what kind of a woman I am. HAHAHA!

I saw it and was not going to comment. Thought you and your hubby were playing 'post office' and figured it was TMI for me!

I'm not saying a word because I married my mailman;)
On my registration form I put that I wasn't sure about doing a Scrapbook page, but after I sealed the envelope I decided that I would, so on the back of the envelope I wrote that I'd like to do this and I'd like Valentine's Day, if it isn't already spoken for.
All this birthday talk reminded me to call my sister today and wish her a happy birthday. It's the first time in about 10 yrs that I actually remembered on the exact day..Thanks guys!!
