Hey, stampers! We are having another swap!

We will be having a get together on Saturday August 25th. This will be a 'you choose the occasion for your card' swap.

This will be another super, super, casual swap.

Bring a card kit, $5.00 to help cover the cost of the facilities, a brown bag lunch and drink of choice. If you don't want to bring food, there is pizza, Skyline, McDonalds, Oriental, and a Subway near by.

There is a fridge, m/w, and stove/oven if needed.

Since we need to know when to stop making card kits, we are going to limit the participants to 10.

Let me know if you can make it so we can reserve your spot.

TIME: 10AM until about 5PM

LOCATION:
Loins Club
2160 Lamplight Dr
Bright IN 47025

Bring all supplies needed to create your masterpiece (quality pre-cut card stock, stamps, ink, embellishments, etc).

Bring along a little extra for any oopisies. Please make two samples of your card so it is easier for everyone to see your wonderful creation. Also, please include written instructions as necessary. Don't forget to add your name, we love to direct our ooohs and aaahs to the correct person.

Please mark all supplies you bring so we know who to contact when things are left behind!

You do NOT need to include envelopes if your card is the standard size (5 1/2 x 4 1/4). If you are making an odd size card, we would LOVE it if there is a envelope for that size!

Space will be provided for a garage sale items. HOWEVER: YOU will be responsible for any items you bring and for collecting your own money. Please let us know ASAP as space is limited.

DIRECTIONS
Take 275 WEST to exit #16 (State Route 50/Greendale/Lawrenceburg/Aurora). Go straight thru the light at the end of the ramp. You will need to get in the right-hand lane in order to go straight.

Turn right at the next light. (You will see a sign for Perfect North Slopes pointing the way to go)

At the T-intersection, turn left onto Indiana State Route 1 NORTH. You do not stop at this intersection. (You will see another sign for Perfect North Slopes pointing the way to go. It was sure nice of them to help us out !! LOL!)

Go approx 3 miles and turn right onto Salt Fork. Just before you get to Salt Fork, you will pass a red barn next to a two-story white house. You will see a metal Lions sign as soon as you turn onto Salt Fork. This road has a lot of trees on it. Hopefully by October 1st, you will have some lovely fall color to enjoy!

Go approx 4.5 miles until you reach a stop sign and turn left onto Jackson Ridge (there will be a NO OUTLET sign directly across from you at this stop sign).

Go approx 1/2 mile passing a graveyard on your left to another stop sign. Turn right onto Salt Fork (yep, same street name as before).

Go approx 3/10 of a mile passing St Teresa's on the right. Turn right onto Lamplight Drive. If you pass the firehouse, you have gone too far.

The Bright Lion's Club will be the second gravel drive on your left. The parking lot is next to the building which is cream color and has a flag pole out front.

Can't seem to come up with something clever this time. I did notice the week of May 13-19 is National Women's Health Week and what could be a better stress reliever than getting together with other stampers and having a grand time?

Also saw that 5/19 was National Devil's Food Cake Day. What better way to end a week dedicated to your health? Chocolate-YUM! LOL!

sandlmax 04-20-2012 05:11 AM

Put me down please. National Devil's Food Cake Day! What could be better than that???

Hi Ladies! Subscribing so I can keep up with you gals...
Lately, I started catching up on some srapbooking (so far behind) with digital.
Still trying to decide if I like the looks and "feel" of it. I think I must be more of a "hybrid" scrapper.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Hugs,
Betty

Pam,

Thanks for setting up the thread - I'm looking forward to getting together with everyone. Now that all my political stuff is almost finished, I can start thinking about my card.

Ladies!
I need some help.
I am cleaning out my craft room and I have these powdered (paints?) .
I have 2 size of jars and they are all loose powder. I don't think they are Twinkling H2O's .
The brand name (or company) is LuminArte
They say pure color and then give name .
Then, I have these bottle of shimmering mists called Radiant Rain.
Also is 2 bottles of primary elements coloring sytem simple solutions, which I assume is a mixing agent, plus some cute little spoons and a dropper.

I have no idea why I purchased these items!!!!

Could any one use them? I will sell cheap!!!!

Pictures attached.

Thanks, Betty Todd

It's way too soon to think about my card! I am working on a scrapbook for our grandson's graduation present. By the time I get done it will probably cost more than the party his mom is having!
Sorry Betty, I wouldn't know what to do with any of those items.
Linda

Pam -- my "glitch" with attending on May 19th has now been resolved !!! Hallelujia!

My grandaughter's graduation time has been changed. It now starts at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th -- I should be able to attend all of the Card Swap and go to graduation right from there!

mcost 05-04-2012 11:18 AM

I just realized that I never signed up for the swap! Can you add my name to the list please?

I'm so happy that you were able to work this out. We'll still need to watch the clock to make sure that you'll get finished in time.

Vic

sadiejane929 05-05-2012 06:45 AM

Betty - Sorry, I don't think I can use these items. I inherited a bunch of the H2O's when a dear friend passed away a few years ago. I have made a couple of cards with it and now they are just sitting there. Maybe I should search for more ides on this site.

This is sooooo cool! I was going to miss you if you could not make it! So, if the party starts at 3PM, what time would you need to leave the swap?

I am glad you brought this to our attention so we could make sure you get done in time.

sadiejane929 05-05-2012 06:54 AM

Mary Ann - I have added you to the list.

We have six so far. Does anyone know of anyone else that might be coming?

Guess what?!!?!? My hubby bought me some of the Touch Twin markers! I am thrilled to bits! Found out SU and the Versafine ink I have does not work with them, so off to SCS I went to see what everyone uses with their alcohol markers. I bought the Memento ink they recommended and will be trying it out today.

Guess we are all ready for this Saturday's SWAP? 6 people attending + extras?

Have my card done -- working today and tomorrow on the 'kits' -- see you all on Saturday @ 9:00 a.m.

Just a reminder --- I have time constraints and need to leave at 2:30 to attend my grandaughter's 'graduation' from Preschool to Kindergarden to be held in Greendale -- looking forward to this BIG event as well! Then there's her dance recital on Sunday at L'burg H.S. -- big weekend!!

See you all on Saturday!

ISO RETIRED STAMPIN UP BUTTERFLY PUNCH

Do any of you ladies have a Retired SU Butterfly punch you would be interested in selling to me?

It can be either the handle punch or the flat rectangle punch.

Just forgot to get one before they retired and I have a LOT of the old style butterfly stamps!

Thanks!

Sorry, Carol, I don't have one I want to part with. :( What about e-bay or craig's list? I will check with Gina, she knows a lot of SU demo people. Maybe one of them wants to sell one since they are discontinued.

How has everyone's summer been? I have been BUSY! Had my daughter's graduation from U.C. on June 9, then I had a very relaxing and fun vacation with all my kids and grandkids for two weeks in North Carolina, and this past weekend I got to see my grandkids again because my son and his wife came up from South Carolina and had my grandson baptized at the church they used to go to in Batesville. So except for this ridiculously HOT and DRY weather we have been having, I have had a wonderful summer so far.

When are we getting together again next? Wasn't it some time in August? I miss everybody!

CAO427 07-17-2012 03:10 PM

I miss you all too!!!

Been busy here as well -- similarly, with family events and grandkids.

Yes, the heat is unbelievable!! I believe the next get-together is Aug 25th.

Is that what everyone else has??

Yes, Carol, you do have the date correct. Which brings me to another question. Do you ladies like to see a new thread started with each new date or is it OK to use one thread for a couple of swaps and start a new one when the amount of comments get too long? I can revise the first post so it reflects the new date. On one hand, a new thread per date is cleaner but on the other hand, you don't have to go searching for the new thread every time.

Its fine with me to keep it in the same thread -- its easy to go to the end of all the comments to read the most recent posts. On the first "page" of the thread in the upper left corner, just click "view first unread" and it will take you to the last message in the thread that you read.

CAO427 07-18-2012 05:45 AM

I'm fine with using the old thread (with updated header)!

And thanks Mary Ann for the tip on getting to the first unread msg quicker! I didn't know about that tool!! :)

Carol

sadiejane929 07-18-2012 10:13 AM

Thanks for the input, ladies! I blew up my computer and had to drag the cheap one out of my crafting area (I really miss it down there). Trouble is, it is not very good for a lot of typing. I have never noticed this before because I usually just use it for surfin' stamping sites and playing instructional videos. Here is hoping DH gets it fixed soon!

sadiejane929 07-18-2012 10:34 AM

I have fixed the first post to reflect the new August date and I assumed Mary Ann and Carol were going to make it. I will see Linda tomorrow and ask her. Vicky has already told me she will be there.

Carol, don't know how often Louise gets on here, will she be able to come?

sadiejane929 08-09-2012 05:16 AM

Bumping this to the top! We only have 5 people so far?

CAO427 08-09-2012 06:34 AM

Pam -- Louise is coming as well for the Aug 25th Swap! Thanks!

Carol

sadiejane929 08-09-2012 07:03 AM

I added Louise!

linda44 08-15-2012 03:59 AM

I am thinking I might make a baby card. I am helping host a baby shower for my first great grandchild (due in Nov) and all I have running through my head is baby stuff! And, yes, I am much too young to be a great grandmother!!!!!!! At least that is what I hope everyone is thinking!

It will be great to see everyone again.
Linda

CAO427 08-15-2012 06:23 PM

Linda -- Yes, you are too young to be a great grandmother !! LOL

I look forward to making a baby card at our swap -- I currently have none in my collection!! Mine will be an all occasion card with emphasis on the fall season.

See you all in just a short time -- 10 days!!

Carol

mcost 08-19-2012 08:45 PM

I hope you all won't be furious with me...but I cannot make the card swap this Saturday. I am going down to South Carolina to visit my son and my grandkids. One of the accounts that I do transcription for is moving to a new building and I just found out on Friday that they are going to be closed on Monday and Tuesday (Aug 27-28), so that gives me a four day weekend. Since my son's home is an 8 hour trip, its not something I like to attempt over a weekend, so I want to take advantage of my unexpected time off work. Since I also have an unexpected loss of pay with this time off, I figure I might as well do something I would enjoy to make up for my loss of pay -- and nothing would make me happier than to see my grandkids (although going to the card swap would also make me happy -- but I can't have both and had to make a choice).

So I hope you all understand!

How many people are we now expecting on Saturday -- my "finger count" is 5 -- is this correct?
