You know you're a 'Desperate Stamper' when.......
You know you're a Desperate Stamper when you need to change colors in a hurry and you LICK your stamp to clean it off, rather than chasing down your Stampin' Scrub and mist!
(Take it from me, this is ICKY.)
Any other Desperate Stampers out there?????

Renee,
I just read that thread about the licking...that is too nasty!! :P
After reading the thread that had to do with the licking I can't help buy say that you know that you are a desperate SU stamping adict when......you have to have your Easter eggs coordinate with SU's 48 colors.

Okay....now to qualify that, I don't NEED to have my eggs in SU colors. I just think it would be REALLY COOL! Is there anyone who doesn't?
Huh. In reading what I just wrote, I think this throws me into the Desperate Stampers catagory again. Is anyone going to make me feel better by trumping me in my depesperation????

I have licked my fingers and then cleaned my stamp with them, but I've never gone so far as to lick my stamps! Too funny!
Last night though, I cleaned my craft scissors with nail polish remover, then licked my fingers. Ugggh! Gross!

Hmmm. Adding flavors to stamping pads . . . imagine the possibilities. Baskin Robbins only has 31.

You ladies are toooo funny! You crack me up! (No pun intended with the
egg coloring with reinkers thread) This is one of the reasons I don't get
much done during the day (or nite), because I love these threads! REALLY
loved the "you know you're addicted" one & wanted to find it again but
can't seem to locate it. Talk about PIP!!
As far as "desperate", OK, I have ALSO wiped a stamp on my jeans! I
agree you need to draw the line somewhere!
THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT LAUGHS!!!!

Once I caught my friend and fellow demo licking a stamp (quickly, when she thought no one was looking)...and it was MY stamp! Well, I love her dearly, and I love my stamps dearly, so I figured if my stamp didn't object I wouldn't either. But I had to give her a healthy dose of grief just for fun

You know you're a Desperate Stamper when...
Buy a stamp that says "Complete and Utter Bullsh#t" just because it is a stamp and you really don't have a use for it. Yet. (I bought it yesterday at my *fave* Geneva boutique...Cocoon. They don't have this line online, but you may enjoy the store at www.Cocoononline.com ) ~ K

I am an SU demo and that licking comment just cracked me up! I use anything anywhere and I own two stampin scrubs. I will say that I got out of the licking habit becuase I also teach cake decorating for another company and saw too many girls lick their frosting tips while making a cake others would then eat. At least no one will eat your stamped creations.
One other story about licking... As fast as I can be.
True Story!!!!
A friend went to a home for dinner as a missionary. Mom put the rolls on the table. The young son came out and there was just my friend, this boy and my friends mission companion in the room. the little boy licked his finger and proceded to touch each roll and then relick the finger and do it over and over as he said, "this one is mine, and this one is mine, and this one is mine." My friend did not miss a beat with adults out of the room and followed the boy by licking his own finger repeatedly to touch each roll and said, "you can have it, you can have it, you can have it." the boy was astonished and when everyone came in for dinner none of the original three would even touch a roll as they were passed to the rest of the family!
So consider them YOUR stamps! You can have them!
Oh and to the woman with the quote, "Couln't you just pee your pants?" Now that is girl funny and had me ROTFLMBO!!![/quote]

When you're trying the acetate & tissue technique for the first time and get to the last step of putting the tissue onto the acetate....and realize that you don't have any rubber gloves....but you do it anyway. Then you take your son to the Dr. for nasty bug bites and he wants to check the palms of your hands because they are spotted like the skin of someone with meningitis. Try explaining that one to a guy who's never seen a handmade card in his life. I think he was ready to have me committed.
One more story about saliva on food:
Before I married into my DH's family, it was apparently a game to steal food from each other's plates at the table. You would distract someone and then swipe something. So, my DH's GF took to spitting over his whole plate (just lightly). I couldn't believe my eyes at my first dinner with their family.

I had to add to this thread. . .
When I'm stamping at home, it is usually in my stampin' uniform - old sweatshirt and black sweat pants, so I feel free to rub ink anywhere I want.
This just happened a couple of days ago. I had just cleaned ALL my stamp scrubbers and they were dripping in the sink. Of course I just had to sit back down when the inspiration struck to make a card. I would lick my finger then rub it on the stamp, then rub the stamp on my pants. I did it a little too absent-mindedly and licked the stamp. And, suddenly. . . I was somehow turned on. . .
NO NO NO just kidding. It was a big ewwwwwwwwww. Rubber and ink, while two of my personal favorite things on earth, are not on my dietary regimen.

OK - I know I'm a desperate stamper because I always want to bring ALL my stamping stuff with me to work on stuff...when we go camping, when we go anywhere that requires a wait - time wasted is stamping time missed! LOL!

Ya know, Diane, I don't think another scrubber would have made any difference. Sad, but true! I still would have been in a rush and still would have been too lazy to go get the scrub. And I say WOULD HAVE BEEN because it only happened that once and will never happen again! Yuck-E.

Hehe, you are all so FUNNY!
I hope the ink you "accidentally" licked was Classic and not Craft, ooooooooh, just the thought is making me shudder. Not that dye is any better but...
Also, my favorite desparation stamp that I just HAD to have is a 1" square with a 1 millimeter square in the bottom right corner. The rest of the stamp is filled with:
Complaints department: please note your complaint here. Scream, I love it. (And the Whatever, I need that one, too!)

i almost bought a stamp along those lines--something about being a handmade card and deserving a place of honor in your home rather than ending up in the trash like all the cards everyone else sends!
i use the su signature stamps for the backs of my cards, but still think i'd like having something like this for the envelopes!

I worked at a bank and I loved stamping so much I would take my
stamps to work and stamp the money envelopes and the receipts just
because I thought they were to boring and plain.

As the person responsible for starting the "you know you're addicted when" craziness, I have a vested interest in seeing the thread continue! It's so nice to hear that you've enjoyed it!! My kids and their friends have been getting a real kick watching the responses/views go up - makes us feel like we helped bring smiles to faces across the country!
So...there may be an easier way to find it, but you can click on search, then enter "you and know and you're and addicted and when" and a list will come up. Scroll down; this thread is in "General Discussion".
