Last weekend I bought the last peice of white pegboard our Home Depot had, AND it fit in my car--Wrigley, a VB new beetle, AND last night my sweetie helped me hang it, o Joy!
The handpunches were hung on their little pegs with care, in hopes that...
!BLINK!
okay, back to regularly scheduled stamp programming!

Hey Artful past:
ApproX how big is the pegboard from Home depot? In your opinion is it Big enuf for all the stuff you could hang on it?
another (dumb ?) question: what did you buy to hang off the board to hang stuff on? what kind of hooks?
If I walked into the bedroom right now and told my husband that I wanted pegboard up in my craft room he would faint. He has one whole wall of the garage lined with that stuff to hold all his woodworking tools and stuff. I give him such a hard time about it. HAHAHA...I might do it just to see the reaction!

My DH put pegboard up in the closet in my office/stamp room, and I love it. I've got lots of ribbon hanging, my wheels and handles, and various other goodies. Very handy!

I have a peg board in my craft/office room and love it. I painted it the color of the wall so that it wouldn't look so garage-like. The plier holders are perfect for scissors, hole punches and also for wheel handles and I even have my Creative memories templates hanging on it.

Ask me about TAC.
I love my peg board. I got it at Home Depot and it's white so it doesn't look to "garage" looking. I had so much fun playing with all the hooks to see what tools fit just right. I also added the white shelves to the bottom for more storage. My husband just rolled his eyes after hanging it for me.
Sandy Beach:
I would guess the peg board is 2 ft x 4 ft, and it does not come near to what I really want, but it is a great start. Home Depot has a selection of hooks, I bought curved ones to hang scissors, straight hooks for my rulers and t-squares and aprons, the ones they say are for pliers hold my hand punches--the kind with grips like pliers, and they have cool hooks that will hold a shelf. I bought a couple of sets of the shelf hooks but have not had time to make a shelf for them so I have my roll of craft paper and decorated wrapping paper laying across them.
I also bought the mounting hardware that has the spacers--you need to leave room behind the peg board when you mount so that the hooks will fit in! If your guy is handy you can mount the board with strips of lathe or something that will provide space, but in my case that would make my wait longer so these spacer mounters were just the ticket.

The wall behind my craft desk has been left blank for almost a year now cuz I'm trying to decide on best storage method...i.e. pegboard vs. a product from KeepsSake Creation Station that has the "tracks" that hold clear acrylic bins...I thought this might give me more versatility in store large punches, markers, etc. that can't be hung on a hook??
I haven't priced them yet, but does anyone out there have this system that could give there opinion as to the usefulness, etc.
My DH is quite anal and would probably go along with anything that would result in more organization
Thanks for any input you may have!
P.S. was interested to see that you could put shelves on the pegboard which my sovle my big punch/marker storage needs?

I have drooled over pix of the modular shelving stuff, but I thought it would probably be too expensive for me, plus my studio is in my unfinished basement and does not have proper walls, I've got framing on two sides. I'll try to take pictures of my set up to give you an idea for those of you that are considering the pegboard option.

I've been wanting pegboard for the LONGEST time but haven't worked up the nerve to ask DH to buy and hang it for me. I stamp in my unfinished basement. I painted the concrete walls and the concrete floor to make it look more like a room, but he gave me so much crap about drilling holes into the "foundation" of our house for my shelving that I think he we faint if I asked him to drill more holes for pegboard.
But then again, even if he did faint...at least he would wake up.
Hey, go for it, pegboard is CHEAP! I spent about $5.50 for my board and probably another $6 or 8 in hooks. Only stamps can give you more instantaneous gratification (but the cost is a bit more)!

I bought one of those over the door white coated wire hangers at Walmart, I think no more than $15. It came with four vertical sections about 2 ft. each and five baskets that are 15" by 5". Instead of hanging the verticals one under the other, my husband put them across the wall in front of my desk. The baskets hold lots of stuff, and can be spaced any way you like along the vertical strips.

I love mine. I did the same thing. I painted it, then stamped it with Bold Butterflies. Now all my punches are just begging to be used! I have a photo in the stamping spaces gallery.
I just bought a piece of 2x4 pegboard for my craft show this weekend. I covered the back side (non white side) with white felt and punched holes where I was going to use the pegs.
I'm hanging my glass ornaments from it and my wine glass charms! Very professional looking, if I do say so myself. I printed out some nice headers on cardstock and then velcro'd them above the items I am displaying. I am actually going to hang it with wire from the top bar of my craft tent.
Jamie....have your husband glue up a couple 2x2 or 2x4 boards onto your foundation walls and then drill your pegboard screws onto that. They make the heavy duty glue for that reason. Like those that want to drywall their basement glue up the studs first instead of drilling right into the cement.
