Default Will it come off??

I used some stazon yesterday and then did what I was told NOT to do on this forum......I used my stampin' scrub pad to clean my stamp, and then today when I went to clean my stamp and re- stamped with versamark of all pads, it stained my versamark pad with the ink from yesterday's stazon! THEN when I went to wash out my stampin' scrub pad, it didn't seem to come all the way off! Will it come off my scrub pad? And is there any way to clean my versamark pad????
Feeling really stupid.

I don't know if this helps really but my versamark looks terrible it has ink on it and even glitter in it and it never seems to affect the stamped image when I versamark!

It sounds like now you'll need to reink your versamark though!!

Search on here for ways to clean it I think there were some posts a few months ago about a similiar situation!

Good luck!

LOL! Not at you, but with you! I did this very thing. My versamark pad still works fine, just has a big black flower on it I cleaned my scrubber, but just to be safe, I use it as the "dry" side. If you are fussy about it and can't get it cleaned, you can order just a set of inserts for it if it's the Stampin' Scrub from Stampin' Up!

HTH! You sure helped me - now I know it's not just me!

No, it probably won't come off of your scrub pad (BTW, how can you see it on a black scrub pad?)

You can "clean" your VersaMark by dabbing where the ink is with a dry kleenex or paper towel, re-inking the pad and repeating. It probably won't come all of the way off, though. It also shouldn't affect your image.

Just thing of you "decorated" items as loved

Heather - she might have an older one? My upline has a few from SU! that have white pads that you can't swap out. I've only had mine for 2 years, and it has the black pads. (This is probably why they switched it! LOL!)

Edited to add:

I always giggle when I use my versamark. That flower! It kills me every time!

I have heard of other demos talking about this stuff you buy at the Dollar Store called Awesome Cleaner and it takes anything off, even Staz On. Try that.

Talking about the Awesome cleaner from the dollar store...which one do you use? When I went to buy some, there were different "types" i. e. clear liquid, citrus orange, blue liquid etc. Which works best for removing stubborn ink stains?
Thanks, Chris

My first instinct would be clear liquid so that you won't smell it forever. I have never bought any, but I should. I've heard it's ..... AWESOME! Yes, I amuse myself!

I DO have a black scrubber, and if you look at it from the side, you can see the 'sheen' of the stazon. I'm glad that I gave Angela a chuckle, it's good to be able to look back and know you aren't the only one who does silly things! I used to have the white scrubber, but liked the black ones because you can't see how dirty they are! :-) Thank you to all of you who helped me. I will dab at the versamark and chuckle at the design that is now on there! And add some more versamark to the pad. I really LOVE it, and I kind of freaked out when I thought I had messed it up. I know I could always buy more, but I want to spend my money on stamps!!! Thanks again to all who have helped me!

I have used the Awsome...it took lipstick out of my carpet. However a better one is Spot Shot...you can get it at Wal Mart. That one took the Staz on out of my white shirt and red wine out of my carpet!!! good luck.

Ok, I probably missed this post somewhere....
What do you use to clean a stamp that has Stazon on it if you don't use the Stampin Scrub? I've done it several times without a problem, but I have used the stamp on other things before using versamark.

Do you just use the Awesome Cleaner and a paper towel or something?

I use mineral spirits to get staz on off my stamps. I just wait until I have a "batch" that are dirty then clean them all at once. Just pour some minieral spirits onto a towel and scrub away. Works every time for me.

Honestly, I've tried the Awesome cleaner and it did not clean my stamps any better than the Stampin' Mist does. And it really reeks! I decided to save it for cleaning other stuff.

To get Stazon off of my rubber stamps I use a permanent ink cleaner by Judikins. Commotion also sells a similar product. It takes Stazon off, removes Basic Black off of stamps, as well as the metallic pigment inks that sometimes refuse to budge with anything else.

However, you can also buy an extra Yoyo Yellow. That will take the Basic Black ink off your stamps without any problem...there's something about that yellow dye that dissolves the black ink. Always, always clean the black ink completely off your stamps before using them with Yoyo Yellow for that reason alone!

I always use my scrubber pad to clean off the staz-on. That night, when I am done stamping, I throw it in the kitchen sink w/ a little dish soap and some bleach. I scrub it in w/ my hand and let it sit over night. In the morning, I rinse it out very well. By the time the kids head off to school, it is almost dry!
