I'm a brand new demo. I signed up so that I could get my products at discount. I buy alot of craft stuff and decided when I saw the catalogue that I wanted lotsss so before I bought anything I signed up as a demo. I have one family member that might order and a few work friends that might be interested but I have a full and part-time job so I'm probably not like other demos on this forum. I just love to craft and I need to buy everything on the planet before I retire in 10 years - haha.

I'm not a demo either. Have been a very loyal customer since first trying SU products in 1996. I have lots and lots of the sets and love being a part of SCS to get great ideas and share some of my designs too! SU does have really wonderful products. From time to time I've thought about demo'ing as I do love stampimg and sharing it with others; but I have a very full time job (60+ hours a week) and not sure I have time. Also, those I've seen demo often don't have time to stamp for fun and stress relief!!!

I'm not a demo either. Just an addicted scrapbooker and now stamper. My nephew's wife has just been introduced to SU also (not by me!) and is hooked. She just borrowed a few of my stamp sets to get herself going.

Default Who here is not a demo?

I'm not a demo either - just love the 'therapy' of stampin' & a lot of other crafts. With a 12-14 hr work day & a fixer-up house (still) I'd be afraid I wouldn't do it justice. Sooo I'll just keep on stampin' & having fun & appreciating my demo - she's great!

Default Not a demo

Hi, I'm not a demo either. I have been stamping for over 10 years now and have gone through 3 demos! I think about becoming one every couple of years, but haven't yet. I just love playing with stamps and stuff!

Not a demo either - toyed with the idea of supporting my own "addiction"

but the more I thought about it the more I realized - I like the FUN of stmaping and really don't want to "work" at it!

So I just give me Demo NICE monthly orders and she just rolls her eyes at me and thinks I should one.

But honestly - as mucha s I thiink I could be "good" at it - I don't have the drive to "want" to be good at it!

Smiles

I am not a demo, but have considered it for years! I just don't want to have a sales quota to be responsible for. If I did join, it would only be so that i could attend the convention!

Not a demo -- just a demo's dream customer who loves and buys lots and lots of SU goodies!

I salute all the wonderful demos but do not want to be one. What if everyone who loves SU became a demo -- to whom would they sell???

I'm not a demo -- the only thing stopping me before I went back to school was the fact that I had a full-time office job and didn't think I'd have time to do workshops and practice my craft. I'm reconsidering, though, and thinking about becoming a hobby demo after I finish grad school. I don't graduate till May 2006, though!

I'd love to be able to get the discount, which for a lot of the things I buy would make the difference between SU! and my local craft store. I'd also love to have access to all the demo resources!

I started because I am so far behind on my scrapbook. My monthly stamp shows help me get caught up.

YES What they said!! I would love to have the benifits of being a demo but I do NOT have the time it takes or the patients to build a client base (then move and have to build another one). I also love attending stamp camps and making all those great cards and scrapbook pages.....I would have to be the one designing and preparing.....just does not sound like as much fun that way!!!!

Just a great customer!

Not a demo here! Have bumped it around and around. Not sure if I want to work on getting a client base. I used to sell PC and had to start over twice when we moved. Not sure if I want to put the effort into it to get it up and running. I have thought of doing it for the discounts though. But my DH would kill me if he KNEW that I was spending $200 every three months just on SU stuff. What he doesn't know won't hurt him . I have two close friends who demo and they both love me as a customer but they both live in different states (we used to all live in the same state at one time....) They both tell me that I should demo....Maybe once I get to know more people....
See, there I go, batting it around again....ARGHHHH!!!!

To those considering becoming a demonstrator, here's some food for thought!

I'm usually pretty blunt about what I think it takes to be a "career" demonstrator. No matter what your occupation is, I think, as a general rule--particularly in direct sales-- if you want to make money, you need to be prepared to work hard.

BUT, not everyone signs up to be a career demo'r and that is totally OK!!!! SU! is interested in demo'rs of all kinds; HOWEVER, to make it worth the investment of training resources, access to demo'r only priveleges, etc., to hobby demo'rs, they do require a very low minimum sales of $300 quarterly. I think that's reasonable enough.

My cousin signed up with me with NO intention whatsoever of making it career; she already has one working full-time in the office of her chiropractor husband.

However, she knows that she averages around $100 in sales each month (so, she can make the $300 quarterly quota herself). In addition, she sells to some close friends who are also into stamping. Every once in a while, when the mood strikes her, she has a small class at her house.

She easily makes the quarterly sales and is happy strictly as a hobby demo'r. She NEVER does workshops, will not travel, etc. Usually, she just invites the girls over to stamp and they're welcome to CASE any of the cards she has on display and she'll guide them. That's it! No sweat, fret!

Any one of you "sitting on the fence" could do what she's doing so I encourage you to figure out what track you wanna take to start--if later on you decide to make a career of it, you have the option of pursuing that.

May the rubber be with you!
