Default Who does this?

I always use the edged sides of my SU Dimensionals. I just can't let them go to waste! I sometimes cut them up into little adhesive mounts for smaller areas. What quirkey little thing do you do? LOL

And if I run out I make my own with left over rubber I have from cutting out the stamps. I am a dimensional addict!

I'm going to embarrass myself with this one...but here goes....

If I'm stamping with a small stamp, like little pieces or snow flurries, I won't bother with my stamp and scrub, I'll just lick it really quick and stamp off on my grid paper.

I'm actually cringing and regretting telling you this as I'm typing! My friends are horrified when they've seen me do it!

I will say that I'm only a hobby demo, nobody else is touching my stamps, and I wouldn't do it with staz-on, craft-ink, or a glue pad! Does that make it any better? No?

I always use ALL of my dimensional sheet! I cut apart whatever size I need from the "leftover" parts of my dimensionals (SU and other brands) It would be such a waste to not use those extra pieces!

I read somewhere that Shelli Gardner actually did the same thing at a regional event. When the audience gasped, she said something like "Oh, c'mon! We all do it!" I'd never heard of anything so absurd before, but since finding out that it worked, I do occassionally do it too with small stamps! It's just laziness on my part (or the fact that my tongue is probably cleaner than my stamp 'n scrub sometimes!)

I too use up every piece of my dimensionals. But I only lick stamps that come from the post office! I do save every piece of the white "chipboard" that comes with the SU! DSP packaging. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I can't throw it away. I also reuse the grid paper that is left over from my classes. I use it 'til you can't see it!

speaking of diemsionals, I try to be as cost effective as possible, so I actually cut my dimensionals in half, and I use every edge piece.

I use my edges also. They are great with the middle of the butterfly, bird neck, stems, etc. I also use copy paper (that has printed out something that I have finished with) as my stamp off sheet, glue stick residue from small items, etc. This justifies my spending!!

Count me in the crowd who use up all of the dimensional scraps, too. I go through tons of dimensionals - have to get my money's worth!

As for the cardboard from the DSP packages, I save it also. One thing I use it for is to make dividers for my card sample boxes. Just cut down to the desired size, then use the round tab punch to make a label.

I use my edges of the dimensionals all of the time. I just snip around the edges with my paper snips. I also save all of the white cardboard from the 12 X 12 paper. I use it a lot. In fact I save packaging from a lot of things in hope of someday altering it.

I put tabs on the top and use the white chipboard as dividers for my pattern paper in my 12x12 holder. I would never dream of throwing it away. I would cut it into 4 and use it for making mini scrapbooks or something. Never throw it away.

In addition to licking my stamps....

You know how little paper plugs will get stuck in your crop-o-dile punch holes? I used to use a piecer to get them out, but now I just suck 'em out. Much faster!

If I'm doing a torn edge, I'll tear the paper then give it a quick lick. The moisture makes the paper more pliable and I can get a nice curl on the tear.

I guess recipients get a little extra *love* with my cards. RAK, anyone?

Default using allll the dimensionals?

On kwernerdesign videos, she shows that she snips the edges of hers and uses them as well. my question is, why don't they design the way they are cut so that it produces no waste? Ah yes, but we all have questions that will remain unanswered, like why do rest room doors swing in instead of out?

Yep - I use ALL of my dimensionals! I love those little suckers!

But in all my years of stamping i have never licked a stamp ... that kinda skeeves me out. I have neglected to clean them before do and just kinda stamped as much ink off as I could on scratch paper... that's lazy, huh?

To each her own though ... I don't care if ya'll lick your stamps, just please don't lick mine! hahaha!

I am another who uses all the dimensionals pieces.

I haven't gone as far though to licking my stamps. Does it taste yummy?...LOL!

I save all the chipboard too from the DP but thanks for the idea of what to do with it.

OMG that's so funny!! I hate those holes!! I don't think I'll try the sucking though. My luck I'd choke on the pieces!!!

I use all my dimensional pieces too!!

*snicker* Is this the stamping confessional thread?

I'm a dimensional scrap user too. Kudos to SU's honeycomb design of the sheet to minimize the "waste" part. I look at some of the other dimensional companies and can't believe how much extra there is around their product.

Haven't licked/spit on my stamps or paper yet, but I have "huffed" and stamped off a few extra times instead of pulling out the Stampin Scrub for the little images.

I'm phobic about salvaging every scrap of paper. If its too small to use for an image I try to find a punch I can punch a shape with so I don't throw away even the smallest of pieces. This leads to every few months having to completely overhaul my scraps and get rid of some, but in the initial moment of "trash or save" I salvage every square inch of paper.

I also have been known to go in Goodwill or other charity stores and looked at clothes strictly for embellishment purposes. If I find a blouse that has cool buttons or embellishments and it's .50 or $1 it's all mine. I'm sure they've seen me shopping in the petite section and thought "Dream on, lady" but hey, it's a very cheap way to buy embellishments!

lol you are hilarious... I shouldn't have read this thread while I was at work.

I have never used my mouth for anything while I was stamping!

But I do save my scraps from when I mount my stamps and use them to pop up images!

If I'm stamping with a small stamp, like little pieces or snow flurries, I won't bother with my stamp and scrub, I'll just lick it really quick and stamp off on my grid paper.

My first thought when reading this was, ''yechh" and ''ewwww, gross!''. I am SO regretting reading this, because I know ME... I KNOW the next time I'm using a small stamp this is going to pop in my head, and I'm going to have this uncontrollable urge to try doing it!!! I think I'm just going to have to avoid using tiny stamps for awhile!

You can't taste the ink in such small quantities. It's not like I ink up a background stamp with eggplant and then change my mind and lick it all off, lol! I only do it with tiny stamps, and I stamp off as much as I can, then lick, then stamp off again.

If you try the crop-o-dile suck trick, you have to position your tongue to the roof of your mouth so the paper plug doesn't get huffed down your throat. It's an art, really. Doesn't hurt to have the phone nearby ready to call 911.

Default Crop-o-dile

You know how little paper plugs will get stuck in your crop-o-dile punch holes? I used to use a piecer to get them out, but now I just suck 'em out. Much faster!

If I'm doing a torn edge, I'll tear the paper then give it a quick lick. The moisture makes the paper more pliable and I can get a nice curl on the tear.

I guess recipients get a little extra *love* with my cards. RAK, anyone?
I confess, I thought of sucking them out, too. Didn't work. My problem was I ALSO thought I might suck too hard and the paper plug would go down my throat! So, I didn't suck hard enough to get them out. Oh well...

I have GOT to stop reading this thread! You ladies are just giving me too many dangerous ideas!! Licking stamps, sucking paper pieces, buying clothes just to cut them up... My husband is going to think I've finally lost it! He's thought I'm ''mental'', but after this he might ban me from SCS!

i too use the edges and i also use the rubber from the stamps as dimensionals! you know the stuff that you throw away when you trim your stamps. It works great!

If you try the crop-o-dile suck trick, you have to position your tongue to the roof of your mouth so the paper plug doesn't get huffed down your throat. It's an art, really. Doesn't hurt to have the phone nearby ready to call 911.
Regarding the cropodile thing - why don't you just squeeze the punch after you're done punching? The prongs push the small circle right out with no problem - I've done chipboard, cardstock, etc - they all pop right out.

Mine won't pop out, they stick in there. I have friends who have no problem with it, like you, and some friends who have the same issue as mine. Believe me, making out with my crop-o-dile was my last resort, not my first! lol!
