Where's all the love?
Theres been a huge drop in card comments it seems! is it because I haven't poseted any in a long time? LOL. ok ok, but really, lets get out there and oooh and ahhh on everyone's hard work!!
I'm new to this, and when I post a card I anxiously await the comments. I was lamenting the other day to my SU demo and she said she's noticed the comment drop-off too. Her advise was to look at the number of people who took a closer look at my cards - they wouldn't have taken a closer look useless they liked what they saw.
I noticed a comment drop, too, it makes me sad! I try to make as many as I can, sometimes I only get a couple, sometimes I go through with the intent to comment on as many as I can that really catch my eye. I agree with Jeanne...if everyone made 10 a day, we could do so much! I know that my whole day has been made by a comment on my card, and sometimes when I was feeling pretty untalented, a comment has turned it all around. I just believe so strongly that if you really like a card, you should comment, you never know the impact your encouragement can have on someone!
OK - I'm off to make my comments ... I admit - I haven't been making as many lately either ... I haven't even been looking at the gallery. I'm in a bit of a funk but perhaps checking out the awesome gallery here is just the perk I need!
What helps me to remember to make comments is to subscribe to a gallery. When I get a new set I go to that gallery and click on "subscribe". Everytime a new card is uploaded to that gallery I get an email. I can then go directly to that card and leave a comment. It is great to get some awesome inspiration, as well as make your dent in the commenting world.

also another tip I read here was when you are leaving comments . . . . and it seems to take forever after you have hit submit . . . . if you hit the refresh button 9 times out of 10 you post will be there. . . . . .that may help speed up your process a bit

I try to keep up on new additions each day - quite a challenge when there are 600 or 700 of them. Sometimes I go back a couple of days and find some cards I like that are underappreciated, and make comments there.
Even better than that is to switch from Internet Explorer to Firefox so you can load many cards and make many comments at once, without having to wait for each card or comment to load in sequence.

Awsome Ideas ladies! I agree that trying to make a minimum of comments each day would help. I know most of us really appreciate them. Heck, I've even strived while making a card asking myself, how can I make this better to get more comments. LOL, I'm a junkie what can I say
Lets all try to remember how good they make US feel, and share the wealth of love!
i try very hard to comment in at least the galleries of the people who commented in mine. they took the time and so i reciprocate! sometimes it's time consumming, but i have found some amazing creations by venturing into the galleries of the people that gave comments to me.
{venture into the galleries ladies, amazing work is out there!}

Can you explain what firefox is? I have heard this before and never asked. Thanks!

I try hard to make comments on cards that catch my eye but it's impossible to see them all. And it's hard to just leave comments on some of them...all of the cards are so good!!

Ditto! For today's additions, I see that there are over 800 cards at this time. It is 9:00 p.m., and I will be lucky if I can even view all of them without even making comments. Plus it seems that the gallery is having some problems tonight (or maybe it's my computer!) because I can't seem to open images. By the time I get home from work tomorrow, I will have missed today's posts!
I'd like to make a "blanket" statement that all the cards are awesome! I just can't open them to make any comments tonight!
Boy have I been sending love for the past year. I joined last October and have over 4000 posts!!

I try to make at least several comments on the gallery each time I log on to SCS. But I agree.... with so many uploads, it's hard to keep up. I probably miss sooo many awesome cards. Just know that all you ladies inspire me. I know my cards have improved just by looking at all of yours.
I try to make comments every day, if the site is working I can get a lot done. I think if you do a challenge you get comments but then you don't have computer time, if your slow like me. It takes me forever to make one if i am busy haveing to do other things. I like that idea of doing a least 10 a day if everyone did this it would make others feel good about thur work, I would think everyone could do at least 10.
For me, it is the quantity of cards uploaded each day as well. It used to be (and not long ago, either) that I'd have 6 or 7 new pages (of 4 each day to look at. The past few weeks, that number has gone to 16 or 17. I do try to leave comments on at least a half dozen (and look for the underappreciated cards, especially), due to the urging of my SCS sisters :-), but it has gotten harder. The "hit submit, wait two seconds, hit refresh" suggestion I got a while ago has helped a LOT with the process.

Firefox is an internet system like explorer. THe difference is that Firefox allows you to open tabs. I love using it to look at websites. When I'm in the gallery I can right click on each thumbnail that I'm interested in and they set up as tabs then when I get to the last page I go back and go through each tab and look at the close ups.

I love to look at todays additions and try to comment on all that I really like...and as I am playing games or reading in threads , if I see somewone with their gallery in their signature line I click on a couple of those aday...some days I have to break todays addition up into two or even three times...
I know how disapointing it is to take the time to upload a card and get NO comments... I am still not at the level I want to be with my stmping, but I do try and some of what I turn out is ok... but I think because of all of the new ideas out there most of mine go unseen as they are more of a siomple line or design...but I still leave way over ten comments a day on others...
yes we need to share more love...:-D
I tried to comment on a bunch of cards yesterday, but for some reason it was taking forever so I hit refresh. I don't remember what it said, but it didn't work so I gave up. Maybe I should switch to that Firefox, I've heard good things about it here before...
I am another Firefox user. Get it now and it will speed up your time in the gallery. It allows you to easily open new "pages" instead of waiting to refresh. So, if I am on gallery page and I see a card I want to comment on, I can click on the wheel of my mouse (or right click and select "new tab) and a new page with that card will open up. When I am done looking at that card I just close the page. My original gallery page is still there. It is hard to explain, but it is wonderful. It is free to download. I am not sure I would ever look in the gallery if it were not for Firefox.
And back to the OP, it is true there seem to be fewer comments in the gallery lately. I think it is because the gallery has gotten so big, it really is hard to see it all.

It is hard to find the time to even look at the gallery! I tend to spend more time checking out blogs. However, I am trolling for underappreciated cards and artists in the galleris and have started a feature on my blog to highlight these stampers. I just posted my first "stamper of the week"!

After reading this thread I've vowed to make 10 comments a day. (I'm guilty of looking and not "spreading the love") I figured 5 in the morning and 5 at night when I'm usually on.
Although, I do get frustrated when, after I make a comment, it takes forever to get back to the gallery. I keep hitting "back" and have now tried "refresh" - is there an easier way?

Get Firefox!!! See info I posted above. PM me if you want more info or help using it. It is the greatest for looking in the gallery.

I agree with Leticia. Plus, being new to this and not having hardly any time to stamp with all the mom/house things that need to be done, not to mention add babysitting during the day and a night time job a few nights a week until 1:00a.m.. Then when I actually get the time to stamp and then taken the time to upload a card, it kinds of gets disappointing when you watch for those email notices and they never come! Oh well, I just figured that I obviously need to take the time to actually sit down to practice and stamp, stamp, stamp.....one can dream I guess.
Anyway, I do try to comment on at least 8 - 10 cards a day. Sitting down and looking thru a page of cards when the kids are eating lunch or late at night is doable.......sitting down to stamp....another story.

I didn't know you could do that. Very cool. I usually do mine at lunch and pick an amount of time and however many I can do, I will. There are a really lot of cards to view and usually if it is an eye catcher or a set I have, I take a closer look. I try to comment on all I view.
It is disappointing to not receive a bunch of comments but my work isn't like a lot of girls on here by any stretch of the imagination - so i just think "if it makes me happy" that's is all that matters.
I love leaving comments in the gallery as well as getting some comments on my gallery....hint, hint..;)
I try to go to the gallery before I go anywhere else on the board.
What I do is look through the gallery for New uploaded cards. and right click and open a new window, and then close it and refresh the page.
this way I can leave a comment without having to hit the back button.
I haven't gotten Firefox yet! I have to tell dh about it. and see what he thinks first...after all it's his computer.
Mine doesn't have any virus protection on it.
