I also have many wonderful stamps that are beautifully organized in their little pockets and stored by manufacturer, but I end up mostly using sets that are close by because they've not been put away. Obviously, I want to use my new sets, but I also want to spread the love around.

I didn't get the TH mat because I've worked on a large piece of glass over a black gridded mat for years (ahead of my time, eh). I like to think I'm organized in my craft area, but then I look at my stamp table and have to laugh because I still end up with about a 2-foot square of clear area to work on.

Oh my word, Lydia, I get the same feeling every time I open my spice drawer!!! It's a weird story why I love it so much, though.

For years, I'd been going to our local YMCA's exercise classes mid-morning (9 or 10am), but I was getting testy about it taking up my whole morning because we all loved to talk! So, I switched to the 5:30am classes and the first thing I did with my free morning was to create labels for my spice jars. Now every time I pull open that drawer, it reminds me of the freedom and energy I felt at not only having the whole day before me, but also having gotten a fantastic workout in already!

Loving this thread!!! I'm OCD for sure... well, my son says I would have called it CDO, putting the letters in alphabetical order! Everything in my house has a place and an order. My husband of 25 years and our 18 year old son don't always understand what that order is though. Spices in order of how frequently I use them. Shirts in rainbow order. Books in alphabetical order by author. Music alphabetical by band. Like items grouped with like. That said, I have 2 or 3 inches of paperwork that needs to be filed, though there is an appropriate file for all of it. And the craft room is slightly cluttered from recent projects, but when I get fed up of it it will all go Where It Belongs.

I am fortunate that my husband is not typically messy, unless he is deep in thought, then he stuffs things close to where they belong. He works from home in IT for the day job but is also a woodworker and has a side business. His shop is probably more organized than my craft room but he frequently loses something he had in his hand not 5 minutes before. He now owns 6 or 7 tape measures for just that reason! I'm fortunate that he isn't a hot mess but geesh, he can NOT load a dishwasher properly. I was just thinking the other day that I need to inventory the rest of the house in Evernote!!! My husband is another Evernote "power user" so I should get him to document all the tools in his shop

I like a neat and tidy house but my sock 🧦 drawer is messy, my pantry is a little cluttered, my closets aren’t a disaster but aren’t perfect

My stamp room is tidy but not perfect. My stamp desk has been a mess forever !!!

I don’t care because I found if I keep it clean I don’t want to mess it up and it kept me from stamping!! So a messy desk it is!!

I think it saves me money not to be in rainbow order with my clothes. I might want to run out and get the missing colors!

The problem with organizing for me in crafting is that it is very often a rabbit hole. I start to put away one thing and then decide I dont like how something is, so now I stop and pull all that out and re-do it. ie: I go to stamp in my index and decide this subject is a mess and I have to stop and re-do it. This means I could be up late at night-the other night I was up till 5am with some dies. I don't always stop in the moment but I do enough that it does affect my overall time.

Part of that no doubt is my own evolution about how I use things.

The rest of the house is ok with that. I am ok with how I have things. Whew! I would never get any sleep!
