When you don't have a certain stamp and you need to make something have you ever done
Sometimes I find myself thinking of ways to use other stamps I have to come up with an alternative for another idea.
In the gallery as I was browsing I seen some very creative ladies use carved and candlit the pumpkins used as a cactus, a snowman, a vase,.
After seeing the vase It came to me that the design of the pumpkin used end to end could possible be a watermelon also.
Anyway. This has been done with many other stamps. Like using baby hands or feet and making a wreath out of it by stamping and cutting the hands out and layering them ontop of one another. etc.
Some ladies have a special talent or what you can say a very creative mind or way of thinking when you don't always have certain stamp sets.
What I would like to see is what creations have you come up with to substitute a stamp set. or idea for, that wasn't normally used for that stamp set. Hope this makes sence.
I'm hoping that with samples shown here that others will get more inspiration out of stamp sets they might have but never thought to use it for and now they can use it for all kinds of ideas they never would of thought of using it for.
Please use any set you have. and lets see how many we can get.
Another example is a gumball machine can be used as a snowglobe or fish tank. I think you get the idea.

I know that I've seen the dress from Haute Couture turned over and (cut at the waist) can be used as a fancy vase. I have always thought that was very cool!

I've used the palm tree (as have many others) in Balmy Breezes as fireworks! Lots of small florals make great wreaths too. The best I ever saw though - the retired Sketch a Party - made into a snowman!
The graduation cap from Year after Year looks like a purse when it is turned upside down (my demo showed me this, but I believe she got the idea from a card she had seen here on SCS)

1/2 of the heart from 'sketch it' stamped on the edge of the paper looks like a ghost looking around the corner. then you can use the dots for the center of the flower to create the eyes and mouth.

as my first card and the card that got me into this hobby I saw object taking form in the circles of coldplay and because of it I Made This I admit it isn't awesome but I like the concept, especially for my first card, since then i have used some stamps a little odder than most ( a habit almost), but that was the nicest creation for outside the box I think I came up with

Thanks for the compliment ladies, I try to think outside the box as much as possible being as pretty and elegant aren't my forte I have to rely on doing interesting things with ordinary supplies, makes it fun for me!
Any flower stamp with five petals (petals that are round at the end work best, and a solid stamp is better than an outline one) can be made into a gingerbread man. Stamp in Close to Cocoa & use the white gel pen to put on buttons and wiggly icing lines on the arms & legs. Use a black marker & a red one to draw on the face.
I used Carved and Candlelit as a cupcake base--just stamp the bottom half of the pumpkin for your cupcake wrapper and fill in the frosting with LA or glue and glitter. that set is mantioned a few times--must be more versitile than I thought!
I use the DD Daisy, the large one not the solid and put 3 on a card in red, brillant blue and grey and put sparkles over them for a 4th of July fireworks card. I fill in with a small stamp that could pass for fireworks.
This is an old set...Fanciful Flowers...and the stamps are supposed to be the fill-in color for some of the flowers/leaves, but I turned them into carrots.
A few years ago, SU! had a set called Simply Spring (still in SCS gallery). Some clever soul made a wonderful dress out of this set: wedding dress or fancy dress. There are several in the gallery. The birdhouse upside down was the bodice part of the dress, the foo-foo flowers were the skirt and when I CASEd this, I used the tulips for the boob parts; others have used the butterfly as sleeves. Cute, cute, thinking outside of the box.
I turned the one stamp from Baroque Motif's into a lion's head.
This was my first attempt at it... But was so excited with the concept that i had to share... I'd definately not use confetti white next time.... The specks make it look like it has freckles...
