Wheel Ink Mess...what to do?

I have purchased a Rollograph handle, wheel, and ink cartridges. My problem is that the ink makes a mess of the wheel when I use it. This happens with all three of the cartridges and the excess ink makes a mess of the paper as well. Is there something I can do to the ink cartridges to get rid of the excess ink?

I know I should have bought the SU cartridge but I wasn't sure if it would fit this wheel and I got all three for a steal. Unfortunately I can't return the ink because the store is going out of business.

If there is too much ink in the cartridge, try soaking some of it up with a paper towel. I've had to do this in the past.

FYI...the SU cartridges and wheels will fit the Rollergraph handles...they are made by the same company.
