Default Wheel Guide?

Can anyone tell me how the wheel guide is different from a ruler?

Is this more useful than it appears?

It has non-slip "feet" so it won't slide around on you. It's transparent, so you can see to line it up. And it's nice and long, so you can even wheel diagonally across 12x12 cs. I love mine, and use it almost every time I wheel. Which, by the way, isn't as often as I should.

I would be the dissenter. I wish I hadn't bought it. I rarely use it...a ruler or eyeballing it works just as well for me. However, I don't scrap so most of my wheeling is done on card front size pieces. I really think it depends on what you do--if you scrap 12x12, I can see it being useful. For card fronts, not so much.

I just got one and havent used it yet ... maybe I'll try it today, as hubby and son are away until tomorrow (yay to some alone time!!!!). I'm not too good at rolling in a straight line, so I'm hoping that this tool helps!

Okay I just tried my wheel guide for the first time and WOW I love it! I got it straight on my first try!!! I also used my embossing buddy for the first time and that is a definite must have! I cant believe I didnt invest in that earlier either! Anyway, I do recommend the wheel guide if you are a person who can wheel straight (like me). The rubber feet make all the difference in the world, so it doesnt move ... maybe if you had a thick ruler and stuck some rubber on the bottom it would work just as good, but I dont think as skinny ruler would help, imho.
