Default What is your opinion on SU's new website look?

I have to admit that I'm not liking the new look. I'm struggling to make sense of it, not sure what all to do with it. Not that it isn't attractive, it just seems disorganized.

What are all your thoughts? Maybe I need to give it more time and wander around a bit more.

You can control it somewhat so that you don't get Twitter posts, for instance.
Every time I go to it (which is often, since I'm a demo and go there to get to the log in page) it's slightly different, with new ideas, and new links.
At first it seemed a bit overwhelming ... but the longer I look at it ... and follow links ... the more I like it.

Try following some of the links. I think that's "what you are supposed to do with it" ... look at the ideas, read the blog posts ... see where it takes you. (yeah ... it took me a while to figure that out too!)

I'd love to hear what others think.

I can't even figure out any of the buttons. I get buttons, no words, have no idea how to see the catalogue or do anything on there. So far, I would say it is a dud and I hope they change it to be more user friendly.

I think that it has to do with what browser you use. I heard it wasn't working on maybe IE.

Personally, I like it. I think it's fun and fresh looking although I know it's a bit confusing. But I think it just takes time to get used to. It's all part of their new marketing strategy and it was time for a change IMHO. Try to give it time....I know I don't adjust to change well so I always try to give stuff time:-) I love the colors!

The link to the catalogue is at the bottom. If you hover over the photos, there's buttons for view and share.

I didn't even know they did this, it must just have happened because I placed an order with them only the week before last.

I see why they did it. It's completely on trend (a phrase I am sick of hearing but fits the bill here) with what's going on now - the collage-y look, the large pics that turn into links, the emphasis on social media. A lot of the more trendy sites I visit to shop for things other than stamps look like this now.

Besides, as long as I can find the SHOP button, I'm happy. And it's easy to find.

Yeah they changed it last week. We had seen previews of it. Been in the works for a long time!

It looks like a blog to me. As someone else said, I can find the shop button, so I'm good.

I usually go through my demo's site anyway.

I actually liked it at first glance. I don't know about on a regular computer screen, but on the iPad you have to scroll down to see what else is there, so that might mean you miss stuff. But, I think while they modernized it, it still has a nice feel to it.

You have to scroll down on a regular computer screen. But as I said, more and more of the most trendy sites are going for this look. I agree with the poster who called it modern and fresh.

Companies that don't reinvent and rebrand themselves to keep pace with what's happening in promotion and design start to look out of date and people begin to think of them (and their products) that way.

If you click on the SHOP link, that old site design pops up and while it's familiar, it looks pretty staid and static by comparison. No complaints - it's easy to navigate for shopping - but I'm sure a new look must be in the works for that part of the site as well.

Like everyone else has said; I find it confusing, but I also understand why they did it, and that this new look is more modern, fresh and "on trend" ( a phrase I am also sick of ).
I have it bookmarked and look at it at least once a week out of habit from when I was a demo. This new design gives me more to look at and read about as merely a consumer and not a demo. I tend to shop in person with my demo so for me it's just something new and interesting to poke around when I have the time.

Just visited the new site, and I like it. It looks like it'll be a lot easier for SU to keep the site fresh with updates, promos, and posts. I'm more likely to visit frequently if the site is constantly being updated (like a blog).

I had to laugh when I saw the inkpad promo. That's the reason I became a demo back in 2000...I had to get my hands on those inkpads!

Thank you all for your input. I agree that it is a modern look, I will adjust! I know companies have to keep things fresh, that makes sense to me. I will spend some time looking around a bit more.

I spent a bit of time perusing what is on there right now. I like the look. Hovering over the pictures makes it really clear what the options are.

I do have one frustration. Alongside the pictures are part of the graphics. But if what is said in those graphics intrigues you...nope, no more info. For example, here's one on there today:
Got four minutes? We'll show you how to turn our Fancy Friends Kit into a card...or six.
It's not a link so it goes nowhere. How do I find that how-to? It seems to be a video, but...

Other than that, right now I'm liking it.

Please contact Stampin' Up! at [email protected] and let them know your feelings, and that some of the links don't work.
They are 'tweaking' the site, and feedback for any company is good!

When I look at the new site and also at the spring seasonal catty, it seems to me that SU is really trying to push more on the crafting/project side of things. Still good stuff for card makers, but seems like lots more on boxes and packaging and general craftiness. I noticed that our demo also seems to be adding in little projects at our monthly club instead of just cards.

That might just be my perception though....
