I don't like cameo coral--just doesn't do anything for me. On the other hand, I couldn't live without my Going Grey pad--I use it anytime I am making a feminine floral card--it looks so much softer than black, but not earthy like brown. I also use it with my French Script background for a really soft effect. I like the CS as well--it makes a great soft layer, without making a real statement (does that actually make sense, or do I need to get off this dumb computer?)

I can't believe anyone doesn't like Taken with Teal. I just did a card and paired with with black. I used the medalion made with the wrought iron punch, that I cased here by someone so very creative. It came out beautiful. Then I did a 12 by 12 scrapbook page using these colors with cool cat. Great combination.

Poor mint melody! Really, it's one of my favorites for making baby cards and I love it for springtime. Just don't get me started on marvelous magenta -- yuck!!! The only time I've ever used magenta was for a stamp camp just so I could get rid of some of it LOL!

Hi girls,
having read all of the dislikes of colors, brings me to a huge conclusion! Believe it or not---we do NOT all have the same likes!! Wow! Isn't it amazing??!! All kidding aside, I try to use all of my colors, some colors just go great with others, you just have to play around.
I think we can all agree that we are all glad that SU! has 48 colors, because then there is something for ALL of us!! Smiles!

I seem to get little use out of mint melody and pale plum pads and paper which is weird 'cause I like using ss colours. I guess I am going to have to get creative and step out of my "comfort colours"

Hey Everybody!!

Chef2die4 (Dayton, OH) I'm in Middletown, OH

Love the idea about the going grey stamp pad especially for floral designs that makes sense to me. That is one of the two pads I don't own, will be ordering next time.

Have to say I like cameo coral - the one I have trouble with is mint melody.
I use way more SS than any other color family. Rich regals is very hard for me, not sure why it's just not colors I am drawn to. I guess my next personal challenge will be to use RR is a couple cards.

Have a great day - it is beautiful here!! Janice

Default Oh my goodness, new colors

what does this mean??? the families will be more than 12 colors? they are getting rid of some current colors? oh no... what will we do if we need them? like refills, cardstock, oh god

I've only been stamping for 4 mo and just completed my acquisition of all 48 classic pads, now I'll have to buy the new ones individually

does SU do this often? I didn't realize.

yikes

Wow, this is awesome news!! Love that they're making changes to their colour line. Can't wait to see the celery green...
Looks like a lot of the comments from this thread were reflected in the changes: adding a great pumpking orange, changing Mint Melody and Marvelous Magenta, having the neutral shades in a separate category...

Now, I'm even more eager to see the new catty, if that's even possible! Make me wish I could be a demo (please let Québec be in next July, please let Québec be in...)

Thanks for sharing the scoop!

WOW! That is very exciting BUT what about chumps like me who have bought all of the others?!?? Change is good but I wish that SU could be a little more forthcoming with their demos!

The names have changed on the white and vanilla....but the colors are the same as before.

DEMOS can pre-order pads and cs....these items will not be for sale to customers until the new IBC comes out around 7/1.

SU is letting us (demos) know 2½ months before the catty comes out about the changes.....realistically letting us know earlier would only cause more problems. Look how fast this exciting new info was out - imagine if this was 3 or 4 months ago!

As far as being a chump - if you love stamping, you can still use the old colors....and buy the new ones, too, if you want! The new colors are gorgeous and it's nice to see SU stay with the latest trends in the induatry and update their colors a bit. The burgundy is supposed to be less red, forest less blue and more natural, eggplant a richer violet, and the blue a paler shade.....all things that my customers have been asking for! And the additional colors like Certainly Celery and Pmpkin Pie - I can't wait to get them!

Tammy, I see your point. The new colors are beautiful and I can't say any of the ones going were my favorites. I guess I am just bummed b/c it has only been 2 weeks since I ordered the rest of the pads I didn't have and the markers. I was hoping to make myself a color chart. It took me forever to decide to buy those markers! I guess I should be happy - now I will eventually end up with a total of 60 markers. Oh well...

I am excited to see the new colors, but apprehensive as well! I really LOVE some of the colors that they are taking away, especially BLISS BLUE! Change is never easy for me to take - I was seriously freaked out about the new board format for all of about 45 minutes until I discovered the new *wonderful* features!!! Still........I understand why Pink Fish is upset - I did the same thing and dropped $200 to get all of the pads in December! It's not easy for me to feed my ravenous addiction to stamps. I think I would buy most everything in the catalog if I didn't have that little voice in my head (that sounds much like my husband I might add....) telling me that I don't need to get another stamp set!

But, alas, the only constant is change....so I guess I better start saving up the money for the new stamp pads!

Just out of curiousity - when was the last change that SU! made to its colors??

Thumbs up SU NEW colors!

You asked this at the right time and it appears everyone's requests are being granted! The new May Stampin' Success has a new color family and many new colors! WOW! (Oooops, I didn't read all the replies!)
My least favorites are Mint Melody, Bordering Blue and Forest Foliage! I didn't used to like the browns until I saw them with pinks and blues!
Have a colorful day!

Pink-fish, isn't there a 30-day window for returns and exchanges?
