Default What are your favourite NON SU stamps?

Okay, I am a keen stamper, but in NZ we don't have Stampin Up, so have to rely on other brands of stamps. I love the cute Penny Black, that is right in over here at the moment, with the hedgehogs and cats. Also Hero arts are also very good quality, and there's a couple of NZ companies I love too (Rubbadubbadoo).

I am asking this because I see a lot of SU threads on here, but it doesn't help me much because we can't really get them here, and they are very expensive when you do.

Some of my favorites have come from the $1 or $.50 bins at Michael's or another local craft store. Right now I'm thinking of a snowflake stamp and a couple of others I've obtained that way.

As far as big-name companies, I think SU is the only big name I own. I'd never even heard of many of the other companies before I joined SCS.

I'm a big Gina K fan, and Impression Obsession. One nice thing about Gina's is that they come in a really nice tin -- easy to store, and the sayings are quirky and go well with the images.

IO is cool in that there is a wide variety of both rubber and clear and some of the images are just so beautifully detailed. More traditional.

Dang, you are making me want to break my resolutions and start placing orders!!!

My favorites are Inkadikadoo, Stampendous, House mouse, stampingbella, Papertrey, and purple onion designs. I hate to think how much I would spend on shipping charges if I lived in NZ!! (And PS - I was an exchange student in NZ when I was in high school and one of my hosts sisters lives in Hamilton!!)

I too live in New Zealand and have heaps of SU stamps going back about 6 years, when I would get them thru a friend in the US who was a demo, but SU became available in NZ about 6-7 months ago and although I am not a SU demo myself, I have a good friend who is, so if you want a contact for her, please let me know. I'm sure if you checked the NZ SU website (link given above on another post) you will be able to find a SU demo in your area.
Hope this helps.

Okay, I see there are a lot more stamps out there than I realise. I have never even heard of Papertrey, but looking at their website, it looks great.

I hadn't even heard of Stampin up until about 3 months ago and I don't know of anyone who is a Demo near me, might have to check that out.

The only brands I can get in my local stamping stores and craft shows are: Penny Black, Hero Arts, Inkadinkado, Montarga, Autumn Leaves, Anitas Art Stamps, Stampendous, and various NZ suppliers, eg Rubbadubbadoo, Hastings Rubber Stamps.

You guys have so much more variation, I am jealous.

oooooh, I love so many. The smaller companies I have tried and love are Ginak, PaperTrey, StampingBella, and Amuse/Elzybells. Love them all!!! Have a few TAC stamps too and they are great too.

The big guys that I LOVEY SO MUCH and are readily available at your local LSS are Hero Arts and Stampendous. Their clear stamps are TOP Notch and stamp so well. I love their rubber ones too though, very deeply etched.

I have also tried EXCELLENT QUALITY clear stamps from other companies like Paper Salon, Doodlebug, MSE, Junkitz, Autumn Leaves and Creative Cafe. I bet their are more but that is all I can think of off hand.

I will say that Martha Stewart Rubber stamps look to be made kind of cheaply, but they do give an excellent impression for a good price.

I am now off to check oout some of the other great companies listed on this thread. Watch out wallet.

If you're happy to buy online then the world's your oyster - loads of places are happy to offer international shipping and if they don't say what the rates are on their web pages you can always just ask.

I'm in the UK and I've had great service from Cornish Heritage Farms, the stamp quality is excellent too.

I recently bought a grab-bag of UMs from Alluring Impressions via their eBay shop and am having great fun working my way through it, I got lots of fun sentiments and single words in there.

Stampin' Up! has only just arrived in the UK too (in early December) and there's no way we're going to get anything like the variety offered in the US catties for quite some time, I reckon.
