I have found I like them all in different situations... I love the feel and the image I get with wood mounted stamps. I use them the most for my focal point images. I love the unmounted cling rubber for word and alphabet sets so I can mix and match, as well as easily make titles for scrapbook pages with the letters lined up. And the clear stamps I use when I need to line up images so I can see where I am stamping. And of course, love the ease of storage of both unmounted options... but my favorite if I have to choose... still the good old wood mounted!
I love my wood mouted rubber stamps! The thought of mounting and unmounting my stamps each time I use them is not at all appealing, though I certainly understand how it can be helpful from the storage space perspective. But for me, I'd rather throw out shoes for more storage space than give up my wood blocks.
I gave up wood mounted stamps way back when due to lack of storage....I luv the rubber or clear stamps I can use on the acrylic blocks. They are so great to file in CD boxes.

I use rubber mounted...but I'm not used to using the others. Nice to hear others' input. I may have to try some of these clear stamps, especially if they take up less space!
My favorite is wood-mounted, but if it's cheaper to get the stamp unmounted, I always do that because I'm cheap! : ) With that said, I only use clear alphabet stamps, and unmount any SU 2-step stamps because I can never line them up right when they're on wood.
I love it all, but rubber does stamp so much crisper (for me). I can't wait to try CHF Kinkade images. However, I really love unmounted cling from Lizzie Anne. I love their style and how it's packaged!
I agree with jkstampin that I like them all in different occasions.
I like wood mounted because of the quick and easy use and clean up - I don't have to mount and unmount them to clean and store them.
The unmounted rubber are nice that they take up soooo little space - one cd can hold a large set.
The clear stamps are nice for the placement of the image but I prefer the impression of rubber to the material of clear since waterbased-dye inks don't show up as well.

I'm glad you said you agreed with jkstampin and not Cammie! (I saw her running though another naughty thread a few days ago! LOL!) I love that girl! She cracks me up!

I'm no help because I am fond of all of them I love SU for wood mounted, TAC for red rubber unmounted and of course Papertrey for clear stamps. They all have there place in my stamping world.
I know people who ONLY buy wood, or ONLY but clear and sometimes I'm jealous, must be eaiser on the budget and to choose ya know? Being the stamp ho that I am I am always torn, do I want some nice wood mounted SU stamps for my Christmas cards, or Papertrey's fine quality clear, or do I want to search around and get some cool unmounteds...
It's terribly difficult. ;)

I prefer wood mounted, but if given no options, I will purchase acrylic or clear stamps..I think rubber wood mounted stamps give a crisper , finer impression, last longer, and you don't have to be concerned - uh oh - I am using a solvent ink ( like stazon ) which is not so good for clear stamps... But - I'll buy anything if I really like it... but 90 % of my stamps are wood mounted. Plus - with the clear/ acrylic stamps - there is the bother of unpeeling them and then putting them back on their little holder.. call me lazy....
I prefer and am more comfortable with the wood mounted stamps but have tried and do use the unmounted and haven't had a problem with them. I do like the acrylic alphabets though. Much easier as I just can't get that Stampamajig down.
I prefer wood mounted, but lately have been buying a lot of naked rubber and mounting them on cling due to the space saving aspect. I can't get up to my stamping room because of knee problems and have been stamping on my dining room table. I can store dozens of unmounted stamps in just one small plastic box! I unmounted all my wheels, too!

I started stamping with SU almost 2 years ago and fell in love. I have like a gazillion SU sets and love everyone of them. I have almost all the Papertrey sets and love them. I have lots of Bellas and love them. I have TAC stamps and love them. I have Michael's $ stamps and love them. I have lots of brands and love them all!! I choose a stamp because of the design. However it comes is ok with me provided the stamp itself is of good quality.
That being said, I really prefer wood-mounted. Just grab it, stamp it, and clean it!
Unmounted rubber for me. Mainly because it's so much more cost effective. my second choice would be clear.. last but absolutely not least-wood mounted. When I buy wood mounted stamps, I immediately unmount them.
I like wood mounted stamps for the convenience of easy cleaning and not needing to swap around blocks all the time. I also find I get ink on my acrylic blocks and make a bit of a mess. I do like my unmounted rubber, and it's awesome that it's so easy to store, etc. I like clear stamps least of all, but I like certain features about them. I still haven't met a stamp I didn't like
I'm definitely a wood-mounted gal. I tried unmounted rubber but just couldn't get used to it. I haven't tried any acrylic/clear stamps yet...although, I probably won't. Interesting thread!
