I'm not a scrapbooker, I make cards mostly, but I picked up a Canadian Scrapbookers magazine at my local SCS and loved it too! I got a lot of ideas/layouts that could be used for cardmaking and some different techniques too. I was impressed!

Default Favourite magazines

I get papercrafts and buy a couple of UK magazines. I recently crossed over to Cards when Memory Makers closed down. I am having trouble with them though. My magazine hasn't arrived yet and they don't answer my emails.

Has anyone else had any issues with the publishers of Cards?

Thanks Janette P

Cardmaker is my favorite, and I love the fact that they started printing ideas for the insides of cards, too. I receive so many good ideas from SCS that I decided the yearly fee would be justified, as I know all the work this site entails can't be done for nothing, so I dropped another magazine I subscribe to this site.
I used to delight in Take Ten, but it is costly and so many of the cards look the same to me. I love the variety and creativity expressed by so many of the designers on this site.
I feel that cardmaking allows me to be creative, too, and then I can pass the card along, make someone else happy, and not have the creation hanging around my house!
Today is Thanksgiving, so Happy Thanksgiving to anyone reading this, and remember to
thank God for your abilities, as well as the supplies you can afford!

I really enjoy Take Ten, but the last couple of issues seem to be going the way of The Rubber Stamper their last 2 years: downhill. Another fave is Card Creations by Papercrafts, along with their special stamping/card issues.

Can we just have a moment of silence to honor the memory of Rubber Stamper Magazine?

Oh how I miss that magazine! I have a few issues in a magazine rack near a reading chair and whenever I look through them I wonder how that one ever got away. It was AWESOME!

Borders/Barnes &Noble sometimes lets you use their coupons on Magazines, so you can get the Take Ten/Somerset mags there.

how can Barnes and Noble, let you use the coupon "sometimes"
you think it would be a set policy. I will have to try it sometime. the worst they can say is they don't accept it.

I think sometimes the coupons exclude magazines but sometimes that exclusion is omitted (it even happens, although rarely, with craft store coupons).

Hobby Lobby has let me use the generic 40% off coupons on magazines and books. However, I don't think that they are always consistent about coupons and sale prices. I've had cashiers give me discounts on things that probably weren't on sale just because the items were in the scrapbooking area. Even when I've protested (call me crazy!) they have insisted on giving the discount. Maybe Barnes and Noble and other stores leave it up to the cashiers to decide on coupon use or the cashiers are not always informed about what is and isn't allowed.

I miss it too. The magazine it was absorbed into is fine, and I have bought it sometimes, but it is not The Rubber Stamper.

I get CardMaker on-line. But let my Creating Keepsakes subscription run out, 'cause I'm more into making cards than scrapbooking. I also like 'Take Ten' but it is so expensive. I had a subscription when I was working, but let it go too when I retired. I also like PaperCrafts.

Though it's already been mentioned once, I love Stampin' Success - for SU demos only. I've paged through others in stores and too much advertising for me.

Default Favorite Craft Magazine

I miss magazines that were dedicated strictly to stamping. My favorite used to be The Rubber Stamper and Stamp It! They did an excellent job with technique information and had samples that were appealing and begged duplication!!!

I've canceled my subscription to Paper Crafts magazine; it just doesn't deliver like it once did; way too much advertising. Many of the Somerset publications are too "funky" for my taste so I guess that leaves Take Ten, Just Cards and the Catch Up issue of Stampers Sampler.

I like Take Ten also, and subscribe to Cards on line. We live in 2 states and 3 homes, so an online mag helps. I've dropped scrapbook subscriptions and do 2 Peas.

My subscriptions have all been cancelled. I feel there's way too much talent that participate in this site, that I was wasting my time and money looking at cards that many times arent as great as the ones I see right here.

My faves were Rubber Stamper and especially Stamp It! However, since they are no longer, the only one I still get is Stamp and Crafts. I keep threatening to discontinue that since I only get a few ideas each time and don't feel that's worth the price. I just love Technique Junkie Newsletter as I am a confessed technique junkie. In addition to that, I would rather spend my money on SCS as there are such good ideas, so perhaps TJN and SCS will be it for me and I'm never going to use all the ideas that those two give me!! Happy Stamping!

I can't recall the name of the one with the CD either but I loved it! It was around for about two years. I'm going to do some research and get that name from my dusty brain!

I remembered the name of the nice magazine with a CD -- Scrapbook Answers. Editor was Leslie Ayers who still does on-line stuff. The magazine was published for 14 months only. Thanks for the info about Stamp It -- always a great source of ideas and inspiration.

Thanks for the info on Stamp It. I just ordered the present issue. Is there a way to subscribe? How often does it come out now? Couldn't find this info when I ordered. Love this mag.

Tanya Fox, the editor of this magazine, really knows how to put together a magazine with huge, gorgeous photos, step-by-step instructions for every card, great ideas for the inside of your card and matching envelopes too!

I love this magazine because just about every card, whether it's detailed or clean and simple, is stamped. And the size of each photo allows you to see lots of detail. Tanya is really great about bringing in new designers each issue along with many experienced designers so every card doesn't look the same.

Of course, one of my Christmas presents to myself is a renewal!

I really this magazine. It's clean and has a lot of good information. I'm thinking about getting this one this coming year.

I use to get Paper Crafts but I let it run out this past month.
