Do you prefer the lunch pail/index card type of system, or the spiral notebook w/pockets style?
And do you have a favorite in the gallery?
I have the folder w/pockets kind, but I NEVER use it. I think I'd use the lunch pail kind more...but I'm not sure.
And, how do you have your cards divided? I've seen them divided by month, or by type of card (birthday, anniversary, etc.)
What is your preference?
I have two black & white boxes I bought at Home Depot and I file them by occassion...I don't like to crush them together too much and I want lids on my boxes...

I have mine in boxes, stored chronologically except that holidays are in a separate box, sorted by holidays. I'm not too happy with my system so will be watching this thread. . .
I have some retangular wooden boxes that I found a target a while ago. I put each A2 card in a clear sleeve so the embellies don't get damaged (I found the sleeves on Ebay in packs of 50). The sleeves are similar to what you see with a purchased card...no closure. When I give my cards as gifts I think the sleeve makes them look a little more professional, and I also provide that insert card to place in front to prevent damage to the envelope by brads, etc. That also makes it go through the postage machines with no problem. I have them divided alphabetically by occasion in the boxes.

I like to use the photo storage boxes you find at all craft stores . . .the ones that come in solid colors or patterns and have lids. They're inexpensive and sturdy. I make A2 sized cards exclusively so they're perfect for me. And I sort by subject of the card.

I have two card boxes that I bought years ago from Current, one I use for holidays and such and the other is divided by theme, bithday (male, female, child) TOY, Get Well, etc. Works for me.
When I use up a box of envelopes I reuse the box to store my cards. It is the perfect size. I have about 4 different boxes right now... one for birthday, thank you, holiday and blank (they don't have a thought stamped on them). I get my envelopes from actionenvelope.com. This has worked great for me.
I am totally addicted to making cards. I like to make more than 1 of the card while I am making them. Needless to say, my mother in law and mom ended up with way too many cards. I find the easiest way to store the cards is by using clear shoe boxes. I have 6 shoe boxes and then I divide them by category. Care/Concern (Sympathy), Baby, Love/Wedding, Thank You, Hello/Blank, General Birthday and Girly Birthday.
I found an old greeting card display case from an old store...has 3 drawers on the bottom and 4 rows of various height shelves to showcase my cards while waiting for that special person to be delivered to...it's an actual greeting card display case from an old drugstore...i Luv it...
i bought an accordian-type system but it bent/curved my cards slightly, so i now have 4 or 5 shoeboxes. one is rotating for seasonal cards (right now it's full of valentines) but other than that i have boxes for thankyou, congrats, birthday, and other or sentiment-less cards...

I use the photo storage boxes for my cards. I sort them by occasion. I made divider tabs for each occasion (birthday, get well, new baby, etc.). Works well for me.
I have to say that I got really lucky finding my storage unit. It was at Swiss Colony outlet store in Monroe WI. It resembles a blanket chest in size and has a seat on the top but instead of opening from the top, it has 4 drawers. I have the entire top drawer for card storage and it holds the standard size card. Then have them sorted in rows with index tabs. Keep them nice and so easy to find them. Next drawer is the yarn and ribbons. Third drawer is miscel tags and my fun paper-washi or delicate and embellishments. Last drawer has all of my punches. The whole chest was about $50 solid wood painted in a mellow moss color. I love, love, love it!!

Ditto this! I have about 8 of them, stuffed with cards that I've made. One box is for swaps, one is for RAKs I've received, one is birthdays, thank yous, friendship...you get the idea. They're usually on sale for $1 each/ at AC Moore, so I get a few when they are.
I store mine in boxes and baskets. When I'm stamping cards, and need them to dry before storing, I hang them on these wire cooling trays that I have fixed to the door of an old cupboard (also used for storage). Pic here http://michellemadethis.blogspot.com...thrifting.html
I have my cards in the Creative Memories Power Sort box. They are separated into the individual boxes that come with the system and with the white, write-on dividers. I separate first by "Cards I Made" then the rest are sorted by occasion - Birthday, Sympathy, Get Well, Thinking of You, Season, Holiday (except Christmas which are all in one of the Mini Power Sort Boxes), Not a Card, Miscellaneous and No Sentiment. I store ALL my cards in the clear plastic envies (www.clearbags.com) to protect them. I'm VERY happy with this system - which is more than I can say about some of my other storage "non" solutions!

I have over 200 cards in my system now with room for more. The system comes with 12 boxex/holders and each will hold 20 well-embellished cards - probably 25 if your cards were pretty flat. That's about 240 cards. I find it very convenient. Hope this is helpful to you.

Wow, that certainly holds a lot of cards! Lots more than I thought it would. What are the overall dimensions of the box (whole system)? Thanks for your help!

The box is roughly 15X15X5.5 and is very heavy duty. You can go here: http://www.creativememories.com/Main...84%a2-Sort-Box to see it for yourself. NOTE: I do NOT work for Creative Memories - I've used their scrapbooking supplies for almost 10 years though and have never been disappointed.
I hope this was helpful to you!
