Default What ARE we spending $$$ on?

I have read the threads about not spending with interest. I have a very well-stocked craft room. I really don't need much, but there does always seem to be something I *need* down there. Mainly adhesive and plain cardstock. While I don't see myself buying a lot of stamps, designer paper, embelishments and such in the near future, there will be some things that will have to be purchased.

What are you still going to spend on?

- Adhesive (can't really help htis one as I use it whenever I craft)
- Plain cardstock - but I bought the SU color families and will only refill the ones that I actually use.
- Reinkers - many of my stamp pads are getting older, and starting to need ink.

Probably will happen
- Embossing folders. My guilty pleasure.
- Nesties

I'm trying not to buy anything until I use much of my designer paper, but I will be getting more cardstock (always necessary) and I think I will be getting a new ATG. I have a small one that is quite expensive to refill, so I am going to get another ATG with cheaper refills. So other than pop dots, ink, adhesive and card stock for card bases I really won't be getting much (maybe a couple new stamps-I'm not super woman)!

Adhesive and photo processing supplies are constants.

I'm part of a SU! stamp club and have a $30 min/month through July. Mostly this is being used for cardstock, ink, envelopes, with an occasional embellishment or stamp set. I was hostess this month and used all my free stuff for various adhesives. There aren't that many stamp sets I really want. There are a couple of things of interest in the new Mini.

I can't seem to help buying pretty designer paper. It's my weakness.

I will definitely be watching my spending along with many others (at least for the first part of the year ). Like others I will of course spend money on cardstock and adhesives, but I am part of a SU club with a $15/month minimum so most of this will go towards said supplies. I am going to try to get all caught up with my scrapbooking and them maybe try to do more digital layouts, so I won't have printing costs of pictures, but will have to print the pages at some point.

Good luck to everyone and their budgets this year!

My new rule for spending until July (my birthday) will be to only spend what I earn through stamping so if I want to buy something it means I better get something published or sold on Etsy So far I have $80 that I've earned and I'm hanging on to it.

I'm stocked up on paper, adhesive and just about everything else. Truth be told I'm sure I could "survive" with what I have on hand for about two years plus!

I've finally broken down and started to purchase Copic Markers. I'm also buying SU cardstock and some of their products.

I've cut way back on paper and embellishments.

After paying our printing business' estimated taxes, sales taxes, and end of the year closing this month, reality was a huge slap in the face with the poor economy finally catching up to our business this year. Since I have too much of everything that won't even fit into Craftyland, for quite a while I'll TRY to buy ONLY adhesives and white or cream cardstock for card bases. I REALLY do want to go snorkeling in the Caribbean in 2011 because it fills my soul so I need to save up for that.

Since I DO NOT NEED any paper of any kind, embellishments, adhesives (have enough to last a year) , Nesties, I will probably spend my money on a few embossing folders (if I see any new ones that I like) and add a few Copic's to my collections to round out a couple of the color groups. Other than that I will TRY not to buy anything, well maybe a few designer papers for scraping.

I'm trying to follow a similar plan, adding in a tiny monthly budget to make sure I always have my favorite adhesives and cardstocks on hand. It's an incentive to get more stuff up on Etsy, post things on the FSoT board, and to keep creating for publication calls. The easiest way for me to stay on track is to keep out of the big box craft stores that lure me away from my wish list with the promise of immediate gratification.

I've been scrapping for years, so I'm way overstocked on paper. No need. Over the past 3 years I've "collected stamps" in a TAC stamp club....plus just bought wood block stamps as I saw them drastically reduced. They just sat in my room. Now, I'm into Copics and ready to USE my stamps. So no stamp buying....BUT, I want/need in 2011:

Larger Ott lite
Stampa-ma-jig
Basic Circles and Basic Scalloped Circle Nesties
Embossing folders

I keep a list of "never outs" in my purse, so when I have a 50% off coupon, I pick up my Xyron or whatever is on my list I'm running low on.

I will begin Copic classes in Jan. $25 for the class that includes 5 sketch markers.

I attend 3 retreats a year.

I keep our Grandson and my DIL pays me a minimal amount that I use for Scrappin/Stampin. I stay within budget and totally get TONS of joy everyday with our little one.

I am staying out of Michael's, Joanns and Hobby Lobby for a while. I have plenty of everything right now. I have plenty of embossing folders.

I will go to my SU Demo's Sale-a-bration open house . I plan to buy the SU Lattice die. I have wanted it for quite a while . I know that alone will not qualify for a free stamp, but none of the stamps excite me so that is OK.

Last Mother's Day my kids went together and bought me a Canon PowerShot camera.
It is still in the box , but I have taken the manual out of the box a few times and my eyes glazed over reading all the features . Learning to use it is my goal this year. Using technology is not one of my finer skill .

It is sort of card related as I want to learn to take pictures of my cards so I can put them in the gallery.

My daughter and Son-in-law gave me a wonderful tripod for Christmas and I spent my Christmas money from my Son on a Selphy photo printer.

I am going to Home Depot to buy trouble lights and daylight bulbs to use as photo lights for taking pictures. I saw some blogs where they used trouble lights instead of high end photo lights and their pictures were very nice.
So this year I plan to use what I have and learn to take pictures of the cards

I always tell myself that I have enough crap, er stuff, to get me to the next millennium and I don't NEED to buy anymore. But it never fails that something comes along that I just have to have. I think I'm going to try to sell enough to make my mins. with SU! so I don't have to buy anything but white cs and adhesives and use my profits to finish out my Copic collection. Of course, I say I'm going to lose 50 lbs. every year too. We'll see how well I do on both fronts.

One of the local craft stores had a sale on Big Shots, the deal was so good I had to buy one, so although I have some Fiskars embossing plates, I'd like some more from other companies (mostly Tim Holtz - lol) and some dies.

I have sworn to use my stash of papers without buying more (yeah this is me we're talking about - lol).

Adhesives - you can never have enough glue! It is a consumable that is needed for the craft. You need it for just about everything - and also I guess brads.

I want to do a few Wedding albums for family this year (well past due), so I will need lots of flowers and maybe some new stamps. As I make the albums myself, this will mean more chipboard for the covers too. Probably more Zutter spines as well.

I have a mountain of 12" x 12" card stock, but very little A4 that I use for cards; might even just buy cards and decorate them myself - seems cheaper that way.

Oh I wish I hadn't clicked that! I may have to have the Nellie Snellien Star Wreath die.

Well, Amber dear, you are a baaaad girl for posting this. I just ordered 3 sets of those dies, too. Happy New Year to us!

PS So much cheaper than Nesties, and they have very reasonable flat rate USPS shipping, too.

Just want to have others spending too! I have the dies already and they are used exactly like nesties with the same sandwich in the CB. They are really stunning in person and emboss also just like the nesties. I love the cards I have made. I will try to post a pic or two tonight if I still have the cards...they might be sold already.
blessings.

I will buy a few things...saved for my SAB order and will use gift cards for Nesties and paper...

HINT: Do you have a credit card that has reward points? I do and use it every month for my basic household supplies from WM and Target and then for everything I buy from the grocery store...That is paid in full every month with one check...I earn rewards points for every dollar I spend...Then at the end of the year (I save them for the after Christmas sales) I redeem the points for gift cards to places I can buy or order my scrappy needs! I have $200 a Overstock.com $50 at the Container Store and $200 for Amazon...

I'm overly stocked up like everyone else. I'll probably continue to indulge in new embossing folders and new Unity stamps. I put the Sew Easy and PTI dies on my Christmas list but didn't get them so I'll probably order those soon too.
I really need to find a new scrapbook album that I really like and purchase lots of refills for that. I used Creative Memories for a while but would prefer to have page protectors that I slide pages into from the top. I like ones that allow the pages to lay flat and next to each other at the seam. Any suggestions?

It's very exciting, but I really need adhesives. My Kokuyo supply ran out, so I started using 3M's dot roller, but now I can't find those refills. I tried another brand, but it smells like mildew. (ick).

I tried and liked Helmar's adhesive runner, but I don't have a Hobby Lobby.

Nellie's dies are GORGEOUS but Oh MY! Some of them (lacey squares and the ovals with the doohickeys on them) are IDENTICAL to Spellbinders! How can that be?

I literally live down the street from four craft stores. Spending budget is not happening, lol. Since I live near all the stores it's the same-o, same-o every week. I am usually not tempted. My crafting budget has gone way down since I am very picky and have built my studio. My DH crafts too and we both love our new treasures.

I will probably buy Cricut cartridges, and small ephemera items. I give myself a budget of $20 a week and I usually don't spend it and that is for all four stores in my vicinity.

Well, I had planned to get a SU Holiday Mini stamp set and a few other things before Jan 3rd, but we're stuck in southern Oregon with a broken down car that will cost over $1600 to repair!! We were heading to California to visit my BIL. Luckily we were near a good repair shop and a Best Western motel. At least I have the internet, free breakfast and a decent teevee! Hope to continue on Thursday if the weather gets better.

So I'm not buying a thing until February!!

Other than the paper and adhesives that have been mentioned repeatedly, I continue to buy stamps (like from the new HA release). But I'm hoping to get a BS Pro in the near future; time will tell. Oh, and it also depends on what PTI releases...

I've been on a craft diet for a while, so I'm picky with what I purchase now. I don't buy from the big box stores, and tend to make planned purchases from my fave online companies. I will probably continue to purchase:

*Pure Luxury card stock in white and ivory from Gina K. I'm almost out of my fave Kraft, too!

*charms from Mark's Finest Paper. Great selection and price.

*Paper Packs from companies like Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, and October Afternoon. They're usually just a little over five bucks, and that's a cheap craft fix in my book.

*Items from the new SU occasions mini. I haven't purchased anything from SU since the last color change. I definitely want some new seam bindings, papers, and a few stamp sets and punches, too. Might as well wait until SAB at this point.

*A few more texture/embossing folders. I don't have a die cut machine, so I've managed to avoid the Nestie craze, but I would like to add a few more A2 folders to my small stash.

*I confess, I just bought a bunch of new Pure Innocence stamp sets with the twenty percent off special. I don't care what the naysayers may post, I love those big-headed kids!

I need to stay out of Michael's, Hobby Lobby and A.C. Moore. I see things I truly LOVE much more online at places like GinaK or PapertreyInk.

Nevertheless, I will be on a hunt for the perfect adhesive solution for me. I'm done with the mono-adhesive SU sells because my card layers fall apart. I do love using the Scor-tape for anything at all heavy but can't see using that for ALL my adhesive needs. I've read the "Pink ATG" threads with interest and might cave and buy one of these in the coming year.

I'm pretty well set for card stock; but would really love a few more embossing folders. They are my big weakness too! I might allow myself one or two more this year just because I like them.

There are a few stamp sets I'd love to get but I'm holding off since I don't really have money for those ( need to sell some stuff on Ebay or craft creations on Etsy ).

I have a Scor-Mat on the way to go with my new Scor-Buddy, and one set of Nesties Ovals in small to work with my large set. Would LOVE some more Nesties but have to be a very careful shopper as far as that goes.

I bought a Cricut Expression recently so have been having a good time buying cartridges for it!
Oh, and you can never have too many stamps or too much paper!

I do the same thing. I've been saving rewards points for 5 years now. I'm going to fund our trip to Disney and OBX using my points! YEAH!

I went to a stamp store today, they were selling christmas & winter themed stamps for 20% off. Lets say I spent quite a bit of money, found the cutest snowmen and chickadees.
No freezes on my spending>)-

I am with the rest of you - cutting down, but always need adhesive and dimensionals of some sort.
I also will have to buy PTI White - my favorite for bases as it is nice and heavy.
I would like to keep adding to my Copic collection, but do that one at a time (2 a month) with Hobby Lobby's 40% off coupon.

I have enough paper, stamps, embellishments, and ribbon to last two lifetimes.
So - nothing new except adhesive, white CS (which I won't need until probably March or April) and maybe a Copic or two.

I even have enough colored cardstock to last forever!

I have been on a hiatus from stamping since last fall. I had such bad, severe pregnancy sickness through my whole pregnancy (ending Feb 26)that my stamps actually made me nauseous! However, I have SO many stamps I bought right before that I have never used! A ton of cs and pp too! I am going to actually try and use these. I did buy an ATG gun with my Michaels 50% off coupon though.
