Default What size cards do you make most often?

So far, I've only made notecard-sized cards. I've yet to try making a larger size. It seems as though the majority of samples in the SU! catty are notecard size, but to me it's hard to tell. (I'm not a good judge of that sort of thing.)

So, which size do you prefer? Or does it just depend on the stamps you're using?

I also use the 'standard' size. I think it makes the best use of paper (and I just HATE to waste paper), and I like envelopes that fit.

Someone help me get outta that box! LOL

I mostly make notecard size, but sometimes I have a design in mind that requires a different size.
Here's a recent example. It measures 4 1/4" x 7". I'll probably have to make my own envelope for it.

I, too, use the standard A2 (4.25x5.5). I agree that its the most effecient on our paper!

I do mostly the notecard size. But I have made quite a few 5 x 7 cards for special occasions (ie. weddings, birthdays). Sometimes a larger canvas is nice.

When I started stamping I experimented with different size cards. Over the years I got lazy and stick to the standard size.

I still have a ton of 6x6 clear envies. Maybe I should make some of those.

Default 4 1/4 X 5 1/2

I usually make only the 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, although I have made 1 "large one". I don't remember the dimensions, but I thought it looked hideous! I stick to my tried and true methods now!

It depends on the envelopes I have...right now I have the A2 envelopes that fit a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 size card.

I also usually make the "standard" size, but I love playing with the extra large size - SU xtra lg envies fit a card that is half sheet finished size (standard being quarter sheet finished size). I did one at a stamp camp with "I Like Your Style" and everyone loved the bigger size. I don't have a photo of that to post, but there is one extra large card in my gallery...

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...cat=500&page=4

Maybe that should be the challenge one day?

Thanks Keri.

That card wasn't stamped, but stenciled with those new dimensional paints. I HAD to try 'em!

I have made a few large cards, some with extra pages, when they were meant for lots of people to sign... at work, when someone had a special occasion or lost a family member. I added the extra pages so that they would have lots of room to write their own sentiment. But mostly I just stick to quarter-size cards. More convenient.

Mostly notecard size, but I like using the legal envelopes because they're so different (and cheap).

Here's a sample...

I usually do the same as most of you - 5.5 X 4.25. But sometimes there are designs I want to try and the stamps get crowded, or I can't get enough mat around them, so then I go a little bigger.

I have always used the regular 1/4 size full sheet of card stock. I had to laugh because I coordinated a card swap with some of my 'regular,' and one card received was a entire 8-1/2 X 11 sheet folded in half. It was so large that it almost scared me when I opened her envelope <laughing>. I guess we get so used to our 'standards,' that anything outside of those standards are shocking.

Usually I use the notecard size. But, lately I've been trying to make long skinny ones that fit into business envelopes. It's been fun!!!!

Love the samples of the long or tall cards (depending how you use them)! Most of my cards are the standard size, but I use the long narrow ones for the "flapper girls" stamps from B Line Designs. Don't have one made right now. Sorry.

I also mostly make regular sized, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2", but have made a few 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" square ones. They take more postage tho.....
