Default What scissors do you recommend for trimming stamps?

What type of scissors do you recommend for cutting the stamps before mounting? I'm on a tight budget and would like to know if there are other recommended scissors before spending the $19.99 for SU scissors.

Thanks! Happy Holidays!

Dollar Tree carries a pair with a short stubby blade and big handles made by Allary. They will do for a bit, but for serious rubber cutting there is nothing like the Craft & Rubber Scissors. Really.

It's true, the craft and rubber scissors are the best. Save up and get them as soon as you can. For some time, I used a pair I got on ebay for $5.00. I though they were very good and had no intention of upgrading. But, they really don't compare. It was way easier to cut and mount once I had the C&R's.

You will never regret getting the SU ones. Other scissors I tried couldn't hold a candle to them.

Maisy Moo - Perhaps your demo will let you borrow hers or cut your stamps for you until you can spring for the C&R scissors... It really does make a difference, but I admit it is a lot to spend for scissors with only one purpose...

It is a bit expensive, but worth every penny! The craft and rubber scissors really are the best.

I am very happy with mine! I used a pair of scissors for quite awhile before I bought the ones from SU and I was totally amazed at the difference.
I would not hesitate to buy them now and am thinking about buying a second pair because they work so well. I have had mine for about 2 years and they still work great!

The Kai brand are the best (I THINK that's what SU! uses, just re-badged with their logo). Yes they cost a lot, but it will save you so much aggravation, and your stamps will be trimmed to perfection, which you will appreciate every time you stamp (which is probably daily if you are on this website) ;-)

Default I used Cutterbee's at first

which I think are awesome scissors but honestly they couldn't hold a candle to the SU one's. I saw them today at a Lss they are the Kai brand and they were still 19.95 but maybe if you find them locally you can find a coupon or something. Get them you will not be sorry. They cut like buttah!

Ok I am a SU hobby demo, and I thought why would I pay for their Craft/rubber scissors, they are expensive and I am sure no better than any others I have. Granted my hand kept cramping and I cussed and swore everytime that I cut my stamps, but still didn't think they were any better. Well I earned a free item from the reward program so I chose the scissors. Thought I should have them in case anyone asked about them.

Oh my word! I was in heaven with these scissors! I have never tried to actually sell anything, but these got advertised everywhere I went. I couldn't believe the difference. I look forward to cutting down my stamps.

Ok enough but I really love them.

The Craft & Rubber Scissors are by far the best scissors for cutting stamps. You wont regret the purchase.

i am a scissors junkie - probably have at least 20 different pairs of scissors in the house for different activities -- sewing, quilting, crafting --- i didn't think i needed the SU scissors --- i was so WRONG! -- they are absolutely the best scissors i have ever used for cutting stamps -- i lend mine out all the time for others to try and everytime they bring them back and order a pair for themselves --- they are well worth the $

I love the SU scissors. I think the expense is worth it. I have trouble with my hands and I am able to cut just fine with these. If you get them you will be so happy in the long run.

I use my craft and rubber scissors, but if they would not have came in my starter kit, I would have been exactly like you. One type that is a close second if not a tie for me, are the small detail scissors by RADA cutlery. Very sharp and precise and also easy to sharpen on your own! I bought a pair from my church and love them! I am going to buy 2 or 3 more pairs of them so I can have one for stamps, one for paper, and one for sewing! They are great!

I learned a valuable lesson years ago with my craft supplies. If it is a product I will use time and again I will always spring for the best product even if it is a little more expensive. It will save you money in the long run by not having to buy cheaper products that don't last or don't work. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the SU scissors, I love mine and don't know where I would be without them.
