What qualifies as a "sentiment?"

Can it be a single word? Does it have to convey an emotion? I mean, I know if I place a stamp of a beach ball I couldn't really use the word "ball" as a sentiment; however, I was thinking about words like "love," "spring" or "summer," "play," "joy," etc.

Any thoughts on what constitutes a sentiment?

I think anything that conveys a thought could be a sentiment. You could use "have a" and the ball or the ball and "FUN!" it all works.

I personally don't go for the real wordy sentiments because I do write notes inside my cards.

I think my definition is even broader - although my brain tells me a sentiment is a feeling or an expression of something, when it comes to cards I tend to consider any word stamp as being in the sentiment camp .

I agree with everyone above. I think any single word or group of words that brings a thought to my mind is a sentiment. I also feel like the word(s) can take on different meanings depending upon the images or cardstock/dp they're combined with.

Ditto. In terms of stamps, I use sentiment to describe any stamp that is text rather than an image.
