If you have the design studio you can make the coolest cards by welding the square from George to another shape (like the heart). I also make cards with New Arrival & a few other carts that have cards programed into them. Paper Dolls has a TON of stuff on it that you would use, I promise!!! I agree that I would never spend $89 on a cart but they are on sale at Mike's his week for $40 (I think). When you have time just play around with it, hopefully you will learn to love it.

Default Big Shot

I don't have the Big shot but have the Big Kick which basically does the same thing. I love this tool, I use it on most of my cards with Cuttlebug folders or nesties, I wouldn't do without it.

My only regret is that I bought all the Su punches, now I own a cricut and a cuttlebug so I don't need them. Nor did I ever use them. I just tried one last night and it was soo hard to push down. Maybe I am weak! LOL

I prefer Maury and Martha Stewart punches over Su. sorry i know this is a su board.

Maybe I can sell them to someone? they are just sitting on my bookcase collecting dust.

Pretty much the only thing I regret buying is some stamp sets. Otherwise everything I have gets used, even if not often. I like having lots of options at hand from embellishments to tools.

I must say, I also just remembered that I regret buying the ribbon cards from Cropper Hopper. The drawers are awesome, but I don't like the creases the cards leave on my ribbons. I'm much happier with my Ribbon Rings.

This might be dumb, but really, for me, I've realized lately that my biggest regret is just having a little too much of a lot of stuff I don't use. Maybe too much of a good thing? Too much patterned paper, too many Primas, too much ribbon, etc. The thing about it is it clutters up my space and keeps me from using the things I'd really like to use! To hard to get to half my stuff!

I have way too much ribbon and DSP! Most of it I bought before I started using SU, but matching is a challenge. I also have too many stamp sets...but my penpal group has started doing challenges so maybe I'll start using more of them.

Regrets:
Crimper, wire, Fiskars circle cutter and templates, all of the clear acrylic stamps from all companies (sorry I prefer rubber) Stamp-a-majig- sold it last week. Stickers, cheap cs and non SU! inks.
Love:
All of my SU! punches and stamps (over 300 sets), Cricut, Cuttlebug, Crop-a-dile.

I just read all 9 pages. It was a good read and it is always nice to know your not alone in the over spending group.

I thank whoever started the conversation about unmounting their wheels. The idea never crossed my mind and I love wheels but would use them so much more after unmounting. I love it. Also thank you to whoever posted about making bows. My mom has a habit of buying cheap decorative paper and that will be wonderful for her.

I started making cards about 14 years ago and scrapbooking 9 years ago. There are many things I see listed I could never regret or ever have too much of like eyelets, brads, ribbon, glitter, decorative paper and card stock. I go through my scrapbooking supplies so fast I always need more of those things. My biggest loves would be my ATG, SU punches, crop o dile & big bite, and cm circle cutter.

Regrets:
fiskers shape cutter and templates
cm oval cutter
silent setter
click it
two mm tool kits
cheap letter punch set
all gel pens except white
cheap tape runners
dotto
cuttlebug and all dies
xyron 900
cheap punches
DOTS ink pads
embossing gun holder
cheap embossing pad
brass stencils
plastic letter stencils
2 lazy suzans of decorative siccors
cheap markers
wheel guide
ink cart. for wheels
all DOTS stamps
many SU sets (because I really only wanted one stamp from set)
SU full size ink pads (personally hate the new pads, miss the old ones)
sticker organizers
micro beads
shriky dink stuff
project kits
wire

I would say my Wishblade. I never use that thing. Plus, I have 5 other die cut machines, including a Cricut!

It's funny though when you love something and see it on this list! I cannot imagine my crafting without my CB embossing folders. They are super cheap and just make cards POP, and are so easy to use. I have a ton of them and always get so many compliments from non crafters when I use them.

Those and my Copics..... I would not even want to craft without them!

I'd have to say stamp sets.... some are just "what was I thinking?" Well, now I'm thinking it's time to post some of them on BST! And 12 x 12 DP. And the only ribbon I'm buying now is SU or PTI because as much as I loved others, they just didn't "go" with anything and always looked out of place.

I'm not a scrapbooker and I've now learned to get the paper pads. I wish SU would sell 8 x 8 or 6 x 6 paper pads. But I have also decided to put the too much DP that I've bought in an easily accessible place instead of out of sight so I don't feel guilty! I think I'll use it more now that it's easier to pull out and think about using.

There was a lot of stuff I regretted having about a year ago ... but I gifted or traded what I didn't want and now I have pretty much what I will use. I can't afford to use valuable stamp space for things I won't use. I purge on a regular basis.

Ditto - love the cb folders!! I only have 1 copic marker - still dangling my toes in that pool to decide if i want to jump in, but there are so many other things that I want. I do like it, though.

I would say my wheel guide from SU!. I use my wheels, but I've never had to use the guide to keep the lines straight. Maybe if I were rolling on 12x12 pages, it would be different, but that guide just sits around collecting dust!!

I have some regrets, but not too many.
Cornercopia = bought it years ago & never took it out of the box
all those large ribbons with the wire on each side
xyron 200
so many paper cutters looking for the perfect one (love my tonic)
SU ink pads (I find them to be the most miserable, horrible things to use) Love the colors, hate the design!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a stamping injury thread awhile back and several people mentioned actually cutting themselves on the SU ink pads!! I was stunned. I still haven't figured out how that would happen - anyone know?

And I'd love a perfect paper cutter... time to go Google Tonic!

I have read through all the pages and just wanted to chime in too.
My regrets are
cheap CS, though I am trying to use it for layers and in scrapbooks.
the two trimmers I got before I bought my Making Memories paper trimmer (never have to buy replacement blades ever again)
some DP, but I am trying to use it and trying to convince myself that the paper doesn't have to match exactly, it just has to compliment
decorative scissors, they were a gift so it wasn't my money but I feel guilty for not using it
cheap thin satin ribbon, it never stays in place.

I think its funny alot of people said wire and I was into the wire craze too but I bought a pack at the dollar store (not very much wire but enough of a sample) so I only used it a couple of times and only spent $1. I don't feel so guilty about it cause it was cheap.

What a great thread.... I cleaned out today and I am NOT buying stickers or any ol' cutesy little embellishment I come across!! No chipboard for me! LOL ~ probably great for scrapping but I'm not there yet. And no more DP (except SU's Autumn whatever and Ski Slope) until some of it gets used up!! Gosh... I really have made some mistakes.

I like the comment above: It doesn't have to *match* but it should *complement*. If you have ever watched TLC's What Not To Wear, when you read that you heard in your head Clinton Kelly saying the exact same thing when people won't mix patterns or colors... now that I think of it, a lot of what they say can apply to cardmaking LOL!!

Hi, I was surprised to see the cuttlebug on your list (although, I have seen others list it as a regret as well). I love the cards Susie B submits to the gallery, many of which are done with the cb. I thought if you wanted to look at her cards you may get inspired to love your bug. I'm trying to love my biggest regret- the cricut- but it's not going too well.
Best wishes, Pam

I see that glitterdovefairy has "cuttlebug and all dies" on her list. Did you ever try the embossing folders? I use my Cuttlebug with Nestabilities and embossing folders and it's lots of fun. I'm sending you a PM, glitterdovefairy!

I had a customer cut themselves on one before. It was because she was trying to close it for me and the lid came off. When trying to reattach the lid she was cut on the edge.

Anyone that regrets their cropodile and is interested in being rid of it? It would be so much easier when doing parties to have more than one.

A wooden ribbon holder. It is very impractical. You have to remove the dowel rod and all of the surrounding rolls of ribbon each time you want to remove one roll of ribbon. I'm thinking the gutter is a better idea!

cheapo lightweight cardstock in basic colors and several SU sets that still sit on the shelf (many still unmounted after 2+ years)...

My my....this post is fun to read! Actually it's cathartic as I thought I was the only one to impulse buy crafting items--and then have them sitting on the shelf--unused.
Ok my regrets:
quickcutz--rarely use it and all the cutting dies/alphabets
non SU stamps and paper
Most of my Acrylic stamps

I feel better knowing I'm not alone

I regret buying several SU! stamp sets that are retiring. They are impulse buys and I end up not using them.

Also have regrests about some Cricut cartridges - bought them when I first got my Cricut (about 9 months ago) and still haven't opened them. I like the newer ones much better.

Always fun to read to see what some people love and others never use.

I don't regret my Cuttlebug but I honestly prefer my punches when cutting just for ease. I don't have a place to have my Bug out and ready to go and I don't use it as often as I could.

Stampamjig - Never used it, don't know why I got it.

Glitter - Never use that either

A few stamps sets that make me wonder what I was thinking.

I really just need to use up what I have. I have a ton of DSP and since I don't scrapbook, I can only use so much on a card. I need to have a marathon stamping day, soon!

I've been cleaning my stamp room...and I've found so much that I've wasted money on. Makes me sick. The SU sculty clay kit (didn't try using it until yesterday, and the clay is dried out.) Dry embossing templates and the light table...because I NEVER use them. I have a lot of ink pads that I've never even opened....I use all the colors...but sometimes just use the marker to color the stamp, or the ink refill to water color...don't use the pad. I've bought tons of ribbons, embellishments, stickers, etc that I'll never use.

This is such an amazing post-like therapy!! I'm so glad of this though as although it is depressing thinking of this utter madness, mainly panic buying or a belief that our crafting will be de Vinci standard if we buy a thing a me jig or wots his name! I think panic-retiring sets, sales etc and lack of confidence account for most regrets!

On a more positive note, seeing how many people regret something others long for, made me get myself in gear and go into battle with ebay!! I HATE it, it takes me hours doing photos, umming about prices, I couldn't bear to rip people off so I'll never make my fortune as very unruthless, but i've been amazed how well it's going in terms of sales-stuff is going really well!! I'm so please as like to think I buy nice things, I just have to buy 10 of everything I like..ludicrous. Even inkpads and i've never used a full inkpad yet!!

I'm so please things going to homes they'll be appreciated more and used and I'm even getting rid of a load of packaging material, jiffy bags etc that all my stuff I buy comes in, i'm recyling them..good feeling, less clutter and cheaper P+P for people. We're all happy!

It is a bore doing ebay..such hard work, i have no idea how people live off it, they must be exhausted, or better at doing it than me..I ponder over everything!! I have boxes of excess stuff..sat in cupboard for years, every so often a new box is added. The boxes are out, slowly being added to ebay and I feel alot better..it's funding my helping some local strays..winter kennels, flea stuff, food, bedding, vets checks etc and I must be honest the odd SU set that I will die without (just how i felt about all the stuff i'm selling! Oh dear..!). most of it going on cats though I promise..thanks to you all for posting..you've really helped me.

Sell those darn cartridges!! You can sell them in the Buy/Sell forum here at SCS or the Cricut.com message boards. If you are a member of the Cricut Lovers Yahoo Group, you post them for sale there too!! Getting $45 or something like that for those cartridges is better than them sitting unused. (And then you can order the NEW cartridges with the money you get.)
