OH, I love my supplies, but I could get rid of:

- Fiskars circle cutter
- Light Box
- Very few brass embossing templates
- Making Memories tag maker

Other than that, I am very happy with my choices

Wink regrets?

Regrets? I've got 'em! My tearing edge - that thing is the pits! My Spica glitter pens. The colors are too vivid for my style and the glitter it puts on your design is negligible. I like the Stickles much better! Or use the Stardust pen for the glittery look over any color.

Glad to see someone else listed their Carl Cutter as a regret . . . mine sure is and now I'm trying to figure out which cutting system will work well and not join the list of regrets.

Some of the 3-D items I've purchased meaning to decorate them one day . . . I really haven't broken out of my 'cards only' mold and buying these items doesn't force my hand!

Some stamp sets bought on impulse that have never seen ink . . .

As far as WWC I use mine all the time. Ditto for my Copic markers although it took me a while to get use to the difference.

I use my WWC as another poster said, by touching the end of the aquapainter to them. Gives a nice, soft look to the image.

I'm going to think long and hard about unmounting my wheels. I love the idea of a long, skinny background stamp (for the edge of a card). Thanks, ladies, for the great idea!

Have you ever tried to use your Quikuts dies in your cuttlebug? Works great for me!

I have a few regrets:
Rollabind - anyone remember those?
Pasta machine for clay - never used it
Paper making kit/supplies - never used
unmounted/mounted stamps in my "artsy fartsy" collage phase

Then I have a ton of stuff I just never use anymore:
"cute" stamps
EP in every imaginable color
unmounted stamps - just prefer to grab my wood mounted stamps; aka SU sets
I recently gave away 80+ bottles of Radiant Pearls
way too much cs and DP

I'm sure I could go on, but then I'd feel all depressed!

I used to regret the tag maker until I found that running the tag through my Big Shot worked perfectly!

I'm learning so much from this thread and I've been at this for 10 years!!!
Aside from the "one man's junk is another man's treasure" theme running through all the posts, I will think long and hard about a lot of toys I had been considering!
And I LOVE the idea of unmounting my wheels. I have so many cute ones but they are a pain to use.

I love this thread...it's so true...funny but true. I think we all have to 'binge' buy before we learn.

I pretty much LOVE everything and use all my purchases and as I'm constantly reminding my scrapping/card friends: "If you can't see it you won't use it." Sometimes I go into my craft room and all I do is go through my stuff and it all seems new again esp. since I get stuck working with the same old favs.

My only regret is purchasing the Xyron Design runner and a handful of the cartridges. There's nothing wrong with it... I thought I would use it more - and now you can get a guide for it that wasn't around when I purchased mine. I guess I'm a hybrid scrapper/stamper and I tend to go to the computer for a font or a phrase I don't have in stamps. My only regret....(anyone want it? I even have the box it came in... pm me and we can work something out otherwise it will sadly sit and collect dust in the closet)

Oh, super regret cuz the design runner is just a wish I would use it......it was the wire-ma-jig and rolls of wire only real regret --- I sold it on ebay a couple of years back and bought stamps.

I love how some of us list things as must haves and the very next post will be someone saying that some of the very same items they regretted purchasing...How funny!!

Suz in AZ

Cuttlebug cutting dies...love the embossing feature tho
Cheap adhesives from Walmart and Michaels...so happy for the ATG
Prisma Colour markers

most of mine are scrapbooking things, because that is what i do more of. just getting into stamping a lot. i do have a few stamp sets that i bought and now think, what was i thinking. most of mine would be paper and embellishments. there are a few tools that i wasted money on. i've been a lot better lately and am thinking "how many times do i have to use this to make it pay for itself and will i really use it that many times?" today i bought a bunch of stamp sets, didn't pay much for a few of them, so if i only use them a few times i'm okay, but i think i will use them several times.

the best way to use your tag maker is to take it to Michael's and get store credit. JMO!

Wow. I can't believe I'm reading things like Xyron - I love it and have 3 of them in different sizes. There's lots of other things that people are mentioning that I'm thinking "what???" I've come to the conclusion that lots of us are having "buyers regret" with things that aren't our style rather than not useful or not good quality.

For example, Angelgirl said she has too many inkpads and tends to use black more with prisma pencils. I use lots of coloured inpads and most of the time only use black when I'm using Stazon to watercolour. Some people mentioned the Xyron whereas I love the Xyron because I can use it to stick down vellum without having to use eyelets, brads, etc., plus it's great for things that have been cut out and need to be glued down really flat, like for collage. Looks like we need to think "is that my style, is it going to solve a problem that I currently have? or am I just itching to get it because everyone else has it?".

I think you are right, Angela. It really all depends on your style and your personality as to whether you like/use certain products.

I got a huge set of Prismacolor pencils, only to find out that coloring that way is kind of tedious for me, and that I like the quickness of using markers much better.

Since we are all so different, most people don't have a problem selling/passing along something they no longer want.

i had a xyron, the little x and while it was great for ribbon, i don't use ribbon that often and i always found myself reaching for my glue dots. listed it on craigslist and in no time it was gone. i have found myself saying, "that's cute, but not anything i would use" on a lot of things lately. when i do i get excited that i didn't think i had to have it just because person x was using it. i am so much happier sitting down at my table and creating knowing what my style is now. i think some of what i bought and now don't like/use helped me find my style though.

Pure color pencils that a demo talked me into. I hate them. I think they are poor quality. I have a lot of water color pencils that I bought in an art store to supplement my SU colors plus another whole set. I also have rarely used the watercolor crayons and spent $80 on them. I have too many funky shaped eyelets. Oh, I also bought packs and packs of those die cut tags , paper purses, paper pouches etc that SU was selling. They were $10 a package at least and are sitting in a drawer. I found a lot of them were too lightweight to really hold together to make a little box for a present.

I can't think of too many stamp sets I have regretted buying! Which ones did you regret buying? It always makes me sad when someone is selling tons of unmounted stamp sets on ebay!

I had a lot of unusual stamp sets like ancient art, Asian art, roughing it, fairyland , the wild animal sets, flower of the month, summer sunflower, wild rose, and many others. I sold them on ebay for as much as I paid for them, pretty much. I needed money. I had a huge collection of disney ones and petroglyph stamps. I had used them quite a bit but still kind of miss them!

I just went to a tools class at Archivers and I thought the xyron seemed pretty cool! It certainly would work well with die cut machines for small areas.

I just have a cheap light box but I love to do dry embossing. When I sit down with it, I do a lot of it.

Ummm, How about my Wedding License.... OOPS!!! Wrong thread. LOL

I regret buying the Zutter cutter thing that "goes with" the bind it all... NEVER use it..... of course maybe I should since it cuts straighter than my guilootine cutter now.... Note to self, have that blade sharpened......

I am on the painting with radiance yahoo group list. They were just talking about how you can make your own glimmer misters but using a small pump spray, and filling it with 2/3 alcohol and 1/3 water and then drops of inkers and some pearl ex and shake hard! I want to try it. Just thought I'd share that!

I never really regret buying something for my scrapbooking or stampin. But I had way to much stuff so I sold a lot in the beginning of the year. I just kept what I use, love or need. I guess half of my stuff had to leave! Now I just buy stuff that I think I´ll use, need or love. I think twice and so I don´t regrat anything.

CM circle and square punches. They don't cut through all types of papers and if you want to make a square or circle somewhere other than the edge of a paper you can't.

LOL! I made myself use mine enough to feel I justified buying them, and for three years now, they've sat in a drawer unused. Now, the several tag punches I bought are treasured possessions, but those templates...why bother?

I have learned to become a selective buyer now - but I have tons of eyelets that I really don't use anymore. What a waste. But what I did was at the start of the summer I decided to use what I have before getting more stuff to put on my shelves (to dust). I hate dusting!
So having the crop-a-dile handy I will reach for those unwanted eyelets and use them on cards. Would I rather use the brads I like better - certainly - but I want to use up the eyelets - that way I have more room for brads!!!!
I have decided that it is more important to use the supplies I am purchasing then to have them stored in a room collecting dust. What is important to me is getting the memories into scrapbooks for generations to come and to do that I need to use the supplies I purchased to do it!

I was to the bottom of page three and no one else listed too many totes! I too am a sucker for bags. I did force myself not to buy the new Stampin Up tote from EBay.

I have some paper I purchased when I first started scrapbooking. It does take some time to determine your style of crafting.

I am totally regretting the purchase of the original Cricut. Not only did I waste my $$$ on the unit, I HAD to have: 20 cartridges, the nice rolling case, Design Studio, extra mats and blades. I have not used in more than 4 times in the year I have had it. I have not used probably 17 of the cartridges that I HAD to have. I am sick about the $$$ that I have tied up in this machine. I guess I will eventually sell it on Craigs list or something.
Another regret is all the emellishments I have sitting around and stickers that I will probably never use...Paper from floor to ceiling that I can hardly bare to part with and other assorted things I thought I had to have...Yikes.
Blessings.
