My regrets:
Buying multiple (3-4) pieces of each patterned paper that I liked because I was afraid to run out mid-project. The result? A huge stash of patterned paper. I have a stack in a box that I'm going to give to the elementary school in the fall.

Club Scrap. I have a huge stash of it and rarely, if ever use it. I doubt that I ever will at this point. It's beautiful and elegant, but my style is NOT elegant.

Club Scrap unmounted sheets. What was I thinking?

65,000 acrylic alphabets (Technique Tuesdays, Stampendous, My Sentiments Exactly). Yes, I know they're clear. I still can't get them straight for the life of me. I'm a Virgo, so this makes me insane(r).

Most embellishments that aren't ribbon, flowers, or gemstones. I have tons of acrylic, plastic, metal embellishments including fancy brads that I just had to have and never, ever use. Why did I buy all those button alphabets????

EK Success Circle thingy. I liked my CM one, why did I need another?

My melting pot and all the accoutrements. Still all in the original packaging.

I do have loads of uninked SU stamps, but I do plan on using them eventually.

I have loads of chipboard coasters, chipboard alphas, grungeboard, etc. But I do have plans for those as well.

I don't regret buying my punches, QK dies, Big Shot, CB Embossing folders, or Nestabilities. I love them.

And eventhough I have a motherlode of patterned paper, cardstock, ribbon, and gemstones, I continue to buy all of them. I think it's because they always fit and don't make my butt look big!
I know what you mean about being a VIRGO. I am one and I tend to be having it so perfect all the time.

I have to admit....I totally regret buying a cricut. It's very cool, but I never use it. Maybe if I scrapbooked more or something. It just sits on the floor as a reminder not to get carried away with impulse buying, but that hasn't worked either, I still impulse buy. I also regret my light box from SU...it too, just collects dust. I have 3 different craft sewing machines, and I've not used a single one. Oh, and dare I say it...a whole set of copic markers. Sigh

One of my biggest regrets though was finally buying the original Sissix machine and about 6 sets of the slzzlets alphabets right before they came out with the Cricut. I now have about 9 cartridges. What I really do is "collect" supplies.
So hear you on this one Although I do not have the machines.

Gosh, does this thread ever hit home, and what fun to read it.

I regret:

Perfect Layers set - I hate craft knives and always use my MM paper trimmer which I love.

Several SU flower stamp sets that I stalked the Buy/Sell forum obsessively until I got them. Used them once, and there they stay in their boxes. I was the last one to know I don't really like making floral cards.

Mega-stack of thousands of punch-out chipboard embellishments. I broke the speed limit one night dashing to Michaels before they closed because it was on sale and I just had to have it. I've used maybe 4 of the shapes on altered notebooks. (Bought 12 notebooks, altered 4, sigh.) I boxed it up today and took it to Goodwill, along with the thousands of stickers I also will never use.

I love having my Prisma pencils, but don't use them much because markers are so much quicker.

Just got the nesties, and I still love my Cuttlebug, so maybe I'm batting even.

hmm, Let me see. Well, i don't think I regret buying any tool except the Sizzex and only because I bought the Side Kick. The only regret I have is not setting up a stamping room when I first started so i would have a place to put all the tools I have so i could use them. the second thing would be all the paper and cardstock I bought before I discovered stampin up. I have tons of it, but I'm going to use it at school as soon as we run out of wallpaper books. The decorative scissors (i only use one pair), but my students love them. Any stickers that aren't 3 dimen. Lucky me, I have 2 Stampin up demo. that use other tools and emblishments along with Stampin up stuff so they really inspire me. They are all 3 hobby demo. so they don't mind sharing ideas. I'm still looking for some H20's , copric markers, and lots of eyelets at cheap prices. But that's part of the fun, don't you think?

SU embellishment caddy thingy (I have 2)
Some of the $1 ribbon (very stiff not my style)
Trendy brads
Some SU sets and polymer sets (not my taste, bought them before I knew what I was doing)

I'm getting wiser about my purchases - trying not to let this site influence me so much! LOL

I regret buying a spinning carousal full of scissors that cut different edges. What was I thinking I can not cut in a straight line that is what I have a trimmer for. Also the Fastenater. I have used it some but really it usually just sits there. I love my cricut!!!.. but I do a lot of scrapbooking so I use it for titles and such.

I love my ATG & Cuttlebug so much that they balance out some of the bad investments I’ve made. Such as:

*Cricut machine
*Clear t-shaped thingy supposedly like a stamp-a-ma-jig
*Embossing powders in too many colors
*Too many brass stencils
*Cheap colored pencils, markers and cardstock

scraparatus: qvc sucked me in, and it's never been out of the package

My Wishblade. BIG mistake. I just never have the patience mid-project to pull it out. In retrospect, I probably could have figured that one out!

Love that! If I could do it all over again I would not have bought a 12X12 scrapbook album before I decided what size of scrapbook pages I really want to do. Also I bought paper before I really new what I was going to do with it.

I dont have many regrets here...I guess mainly are my 'cheap stamps', thought I would save money by buying cheaper, lol. And all the designer paper I have bought and I rarely use it.

Well, the biggest mistake was actually my DH's. He bought me a goliath stamp pad, marker and refill bottle holder. It's just waaay too big. But gotta love his thought process though.

*crimper
*stamp a ma jig (NEVER use it, too much work)
*pearl ex powders
*STudio G sets (only inked 1)
*certain ribbons (what was I thinking....)
*many alterables that I just haven't gotten to YET

I'm sure there' so much more but I'm afraid to open the cabinets...

PM me if anyone regretting watercolor crayons, wants to sell cheap!

Regrets:
I have the rack of decorative edge scissors, collecting dust. THe MM tag maker thing. Fastenator-small. Fiskars Shape Boss. Sizzlets alphas, a couple sets. Cheap paper. Light box. Stickers, stickers and more stickers....

I love my Big Shot, BIA, and crop-a-dile! My stama ma jig use to be on my regret list, until I saw a video on how to use it!

I have a few:

1. To many Embossing Powders in to many colors.
2. All the SU ink pads. I probably only have used 10
3. All the scissors with "fancy" edges that I threw away.
4. Hodgepodge Hadware. Cute but I don't know how to use them.
5. Way to many "seasonal" brads and eyelets
6. To much DP
7. Lots of SU sets I had to have and don't and won't use.
(the one reason I don't like being a demo...you have to hang on to them)
8. Twill tape from SU
9. Pretties Kit...I have only used it a couple of times and hate the flowers
10. Glitter...I hate it!
11. The Cricut and tons of carts.

WOW...I have way to much stuff if I regret all these.

So true! I demo'd for awhile, and I purchased many sets with the sole purpose of showing them to others. Bad idea I also regret purchasing many, MANY embellishments, packages of paper, and even stamps simply because "they were a good deal." I'm a sucker for a sale, but now I'm weeding through my immense heap. I could be using that time to stamp!!

As a stamper of 3 months, I regret all the stamps I purchased at local craft stores and on ebay. I probably won't use half of them. This thread has been so helpful in regards to future purchases. Thanks.

We need to all get together and have a SWAP MEET.

I have been scrapbooking/card marking for years.

I have way toooooo many stickers! I bought the original Sizzix, the tag along and the big shot.

I have the Quickutz and many dies. I have the Cuttlebug - love it - I just can't find were I put the cutting pads to use it

I only have a few marvy punches - would love to have more - hello

I want the nesttties. I have way too many SU sets I don't use. I have tons of paper - but never really enough pattern when I want to use it.

Letter brads/buttons - what was I thinking?

Sometimes I wish I had the colozzle (sp) stuff.

Mine would be the colluzzle stuff, manual eyelet setter and springloaded eyelet setter, a few SU sets, some fiskar texture plates,

and I rarely use the Cricut, watercolor crayons, H2Os & Radiant Pearls, light box, etc...but I figured sometime I might be in the "mood" to use them again.

Ladies--
If you have a silhouette other cutter YOU can be your child's teacher's BEST FRIEND! Most teachers STILL cut out bulletin board letters by hand. Some schools have die cuts but usually have only 1 or 2 fonts. We don't even have numbers.

Put that sucker out and ask Mrs.WaaWaa what letters and sizes she needs for her board.

Teachers will love you and praise your name!

When I first started to read this, I thought I must have a ton of regrets too, but after reading more, I have to say I feel pretty good that I haven't done too much impulse buying. I only have a few tools and use them all.

As a scrapper I probably have more pp and stickers from the beginning, but I try to use them on envelopes and for other things.

Mirokey, I will buy your PTI, I'm just getting into them and love them!!

I regret buying a ton of SU! sets when I first got started. I have sold most of them and now know my style so I make better choices. Lots of single stamps from craft stores. Hodgepodge Hardware I regret too because I hardly ever use it. I love my Cuttlebug for embossing but regret buying dies for it. Luckily I only bought a few packs of dies. DP!!!! I have so much and would rather use a Cuttlebug background most of the time then DP!

The fiskars texture plates work great with the Spellbinder Wizard. That's what I have. It is a lightweight metal and and will handle anything. I think it has been my best purchase, ofcourse the cricut cartridges won't work in it.

I really like my fastenator. I got it for free though, but I really do use it. I like to make distressed and alterable projects, and i use it quite frequently on those. Just use it anywhere you want a fancy staple. It works just like a stapler would. I might have some projects in my gallery to inspire you, ill go check and post a link for you girls.

AND, come on, i know someone wants to give me a deal on some cricut carts........

I regret a lot of SU sets, luckily they are easy and quick to sell.

Also Prisma pencils, I never got into coloring with them. But I sold those too, lol.

I've had a few purchasing mistakes and they usually involve anything that isn't Stampin' Up! Yes, I have some stamps that have never seen ink, but I will use them--eventually--really--I will!

To the person who wanted a brayer: I just saw a brayer at Michael's in the art supplies aisle. And Stampin' Up! sells a brayer and it's less than $13.00.

Scrapbooking tote bags - I don't even scrapbook, for heaven's sake! I'm a sucker for bags - poor things just sit there. Also, the Xyron 510 - bought it and all the cartridges and used maybe six inches of the laminating one.
