Here is the video from Crop-Stop.com for using Nestibilities and a Sizzix machine. She is using a converter, but I'll but they sell it.

I use my Big Shot for nestabilities by using the full platform with all tabs, add the two cutting plates, and the nestability in between.

Works great.

Chautona,
How do you "sandwich" your nestability for the embossing part?

I just watched the video thank you it was helpful. I went to spellbinders website to browse, and I think I might have to get one of their machines so I could use everything and not be limited to only some. So I will be asking my parents for this for Christmas lol. Thanks again

The biggest thing I regret buying has to be all of the 12 x 12 patterns I have brought!

I love them so much but hate cutting into them! And as I dont scrapbook that much it tends to sit there

Nestabilties, Cuttlebug folders and all the other dies and folders work in a Bigshot/ Bigkick ( they have same inside system, just look different on the outside) , a Cuttlebug, a Wizard and a few other machine .

If you look at the top of the tools thread you will find a permanent thread for each machine and the sandwiches to use all of the dies and folders. The Cuttlebug is more portable and the Bigshot/Bigkick are more sturdy
I would suggest reading the features of each machine and see which will work best for your needs
You can usually use a 40-50% off coupon at Michael's or Joanns for the Cuttlebug or the BigKick. You can get the Bigshot or the Wizard at Amazon
at a discount . A few other places also have discounts.

When you have decided which machine you want people here can tell you where to get the best price.
Good luck!!

OT: If I am cutting and embossing I often do it in one pass. You need a "Premium Crease Pad". The different colors are different thicknesses. The blue is the best for Nesties but harder to find - red and black work fine too, you just need a paper shim.

Multi Purpose Platform (MPPP) tab 2
clear cutting plate
Nestie blade UP
Paper face DOWN
(shim, if using red or black crease pad)
Crease Pad

Roll through big shot/kick - this gives you the cut out AND a nice deep emboss at the same time.

A few sets of my nesties, it doesn't cut all the way through with the crease pad, so I do two passes.

1st Pass (for cutting)
MPP Tab 2
Clear cutting plate
Nestie blade up
paper face down
Clear cutting plate
Roll through machine.

Take of the top clear cutting plate, replace with crease pad (and shim) and roll back through.

Using the crease pad, instead of the tan mats, means you don't have to switch tabs on your sandwich, which makes it a LOT easier.

My biggest regret was getting SU "A Rose Is A Rose". After I got it, I looked at it, and thought, "Yuck!" My "Roses In Winter" is soooo much prettier. It served me right for being greedy. LOL I got to pick any set in the catalog for free when I signed up to be a demo, and tried to pick an expensive one, rather than one I LIKED. I've since traded it for a cheaper set, but one I really LIKe.

You know, you can always TRADE those "regrets" on one of the PIF threads. They're tons of fun! (Addicting though, so be warned. LOL)

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...95938-113.html

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...504360-53.html

The rules for playing are on the first page of the threads. It seems confusing, but you get the hang of them real quick.

I totally agree. I very seldom use mine anymore, except to "copy" some files and cut them in SCAL (shhhhh). I will be getting a new computer soon and the thought that I paid almost $100 for that program and now can't be put on my new computer is very annoying!

Anyone who reads this and has, or is thinking about getting, Design Studio......don't waste your money. Get Sure Cuts A Lot. You definitely won't regret it AND you can put it on two computers AND if your computer craps out they will let you put it on the new computer - NO CHARGE! They have the best customer service.

ROFL - couldn't agree more!

Hmmm, regrets are really for things that are 'so 5 minutes ago' as my kids would say (which kinda dates them too but hey).

Absolute wastes of money would be:
Cricut (again just didn't use it enough)
Cuttlebug (but only because I almost immediately became an SU demo and felt I should really trade it in for the BigShot)
Light box (used a couple of times but I just don't have the patience)
Cheap $ store papers, ribbons, embellishments
Hoards of eyelets and brads when I hardly use either

...

But what the heck, it's cheaper than therapy as they say!

I think my only regret is purchasing the Cathy Allen Positioner.
It looked like it would have so many uses especially for doing borders .

However, I have limited space on my dining room table. After I set up my Tonic paper cutter, my CB and a few other essentials there is no space for it . So I use my Stamp-A Ma-jig nearly all the time.

If I had a long craft table or counter to work on I may use it more.

I regret buying most of the unmounteds in my collection. I like a couple of sets that are nice to take when I travel, but never use the others.

Cropadile Big Bite (it's still in the package, but I love my regular Cropadile)
Bind it All (never used, but I still might some day)
Fiskars texture plates
Non SU (cheap) cardstock - gave it all to my DD
those templates that you use with an exacto blade to make pretty lattice cuts/folds - now that have dies to do it

Yes they are easy to unmount and I really enjoy them much more now.
I haven't um all I have, I need to decide which ones I will really use and pass the others on to a new home.

Yes, I use them on my long acrylic block. I put double sided tape on the block, and a pad of cushy foam to stamp on. When the tape loses it's stickiness I just replace it. Lot's easier & cheaper than EZ mount and it works fine for me.

Oh brother. I am cleaning my craft room (AKA BASEMENT! LOL) and am kicking myself for some of the stuff I am finding. I am donating a lot of it to Goodwill.... they take it all!

Probably cheap CS is the worst, that and some of the UGLY paper. What was I thinking???

This is a great thread. The one thing I remember buying and selling very quickly because I hated it was the hand-held Quick Kutz. Of course I have many other items that I'm not sure what I was thinking when I purchased

I don't say regrets wanted all of it when I bought it just have learned a few things. Such as my space is not large enough for all of it!
Original Sizzix machine and numerous dies, that sit unused.
Xyron machine
Coluzzle yuck...
Fiskars texture plates (can you say carpel tunnel? LOL)
Those terrible scissors with different edges, they never cut right.
Tons of Eyelets, brads, stickers.
I could probably say a few more, I have a cricut expression and didn't use it until
recently, so some things can be redeemed.

I have the Position It and use it all the time - but, I usually just use the "L" shaped piece and the acrylic sheet. I keep all the pieces in a two gallon zipper bag and have it hanging on a hook and only pull out the pieces I need. I even had the hardware store cut an extra piece of acrylic to use with the "L" Hope this helps

I have friends who complain about the decorative scissors. They commented that my cuts always look so much better and wanted me to show them how I did it. That is when we discovered the scissors only work for left-handed people! I always line the paper up with the inside edge of the blade and that can only be done when holding them in your left hand. I regret buying Spellbinders - Shapeabilities & Impressabilities.....really fiddly. I think I could catch a real butterfly and mummify quicker than I could cut one out and emboss it. I tried giving them away to fellow crafters.......trouble is they kept returning them.LOL.

I love my decorative scissors. I have serious scissor skills. Now, I know why! I am left handed. !
