Give it to a teacher! They'll love it -- or at least their students will for projects and such!

Biggest waste of money. Neither work at all. Cant even cut through tissue paper let alone cardstock or DP.
I have 2 as well. They're awful. I don't even want to give them away because they don't work, but I don't want to throw them out because they cost money, so there they sit, taking up room.

At this point, I'm regretting getting my Cricut.

I also regret getting the crackle paint because I forgot I had it and now it's drying up.

I regret all those Colorbox inks that I have. My distress inks work just fine and dandy for heat embossing. Those colorbox inks are just sitting there, staring at me every time I sit down but they can just stare. I'm using my distress inks and my mementos, tyvm.

I regret buying all the chipboard that I bought and stuffed into a drawer because I just forget about it. And all the alcohol ink although I do remember I have it and sometimes use it. Also all the brads. Tons and tons of brads.

I regret buying any tool that costs more to maintain than the tool itself is worth like the Xyron Design Runner. I am too frugal to buy ink. My Xyron sticker makers. I do love my 150.

If your crackle paints are Tim Holtz paints, you can revive them with water! I learned this from this video on his website. It really does work!

Limiting myself to just one category, premiere among my plethora of regrets are:
Tonic paper trimmers, the 12"ers (2)
Making Memories paper trimmers (4)

They were junk, and that's just in the trimmer category.

what DON'T i regret. i am an unorganized crafter and there is not a certain place for each thing. so i keep buying the same things because i can't remember buying them. right now i'm going thru my stuff and trying to ruthlessly clean stuff out. i'm getting rid of stuff really cheap (spellbinders, i never used them for 99 cents) and hope to have my space under control sometime before 2011. i am just amazed at the sheer volume of stuff. and also a little ashamed. the money i used to buy craft supplies could probably have fed a small third world nation for a couple of years. acually, i'm looking into the definition of hoarder. i think i might be one.

I regret buying a Justrite Monogram set, the big bite II, the movers & shapers dies and the list goes on. I am trying to be choosier about what I spend my money on. I usually think about my wishes for at least a week. By the end of that week, most of my wishes have changed to something else cool I have seen. It's cheaper to "window shop". I do allot of that.

Cleaning stuff out is very theraputic, and people love donations of craft stuff for anything you think you won't use! I am going through my stuff and making an inventory spreadsheet. I have a bad memory and forget I have something, so I buy it. I did this with my books and it cut way down on duplicated books. I just type in the title into my spreadsheet and it tells me if I have it or not. So I am going to do this with my crafting supplies. I'll have cells for designer, manufacture, and quantity. Then I know at a glance what I have and how much. I can easily change the quantity after each big project (I design in bulk most of the time. I rarely make just one card of each design). No more buying more reams of cardstock when I already have 5! It's exciting, but I'm an organizer, I LOVE to organize. Maybe a crafting buddy could come over and help you get it all sorted through.

Me too except I don't really regret it. The small Cricut travels to crops with me and the large one stays home.

I regret buying my Just Rite monogram stamper and stamps. I didn't realize I needed a certain size stamper for certain sets to fit in it. I bought 2 stampers, and the sets I bought to go with them are either too small or too big for both of my stampers. Drives me nuts. Also, I find it very time consuming to put it all together and to take it all apart, and cleaning is a nightmare. Ugh.. great idea, and I've seen some amazing things with that system, but it's just not for me.

Let me see.

Xyron
Fiskars Embossing system (you know the big one, with stencils and little pegs to keep them in place???)
Just Rite stamps
G studio clear stamps
Light Box
Brass stencils

There is probably a whole lot more, I'll let you know after the next purge.

Oh, I think I have had the BIA for 2 or 3 years and yesterday is the first time I used it to put anything together. Oh what a mess! It took a while for me to get the hang of it so every page is not quite even. Then had to close the thing evenly. Another mess.

Maybe if I had taken the time to find a BIA video I could have done a better job. Oh well, at least all my SU mini catalogs for the past 5 years or so are now bound together and only I will see it.

I think I regret buying this thing.....

After almost a year and a half of stamping I now have a small list, but have avoided the other pitfalls mentioned here!

-brightly colored brads-I prefer the neutral ones.
-chip board shapes-I'm not into mini albums and a lot of 3D things. Got a package of them from SU and never used them.
-patterned paper with glitter from Michaels-what a mess!

I don't want to end up with a room full of stuff I don't use, so I'm pretty ruthless about purging and sorting. If it doesn't get used within 6 months or for an intended holiday, it's out of here.

I think when I first got back into card making/scrapping I made the mistake of watch YouTube videos (haul videos)...so whatever I saw...I sought out and bought...so here I am months later with a HUGE stash with things that I know that I will NEVER use...stickers....rub ons...not so much....my melting pot...I bought it to dip flowers but haven't used it yet...cheap stamps (purchased just to increase my stash)...acrylic stamps (for the most part...not all)..cheap inks....paper stacks but I can't help myself...I am addicted to stacks but have learned to buy smaller sizes (8x for my mini scrap books...I won't use 12x12 and have TONS.....I guess I have refined my style and choices and am happy with what I do buy...I only started buying SU recently and LOVE their punches to the point that they have turned me off other company punches (like acrylic stamps...not all of them)...so some punches could be added to the regret pile....that's it for now...

We all have sooo much in common!!! We are collectors; we are addicts!

I have lots of everything. Although, I have gotten a lot free (SU parties, and cellabration, etc.), and a lot from sales, and coupons, and garage sales, there are still some things I regret purchasing. For example, I have three or four paper cutters, because they keep coming up with a better one. I have three different eyelet setter tools. Don't use them much because it is too hard to set eyelets, no matter what tool!

Brass templates, and light table. Never use them. Some have never been opened!
Pearl-x, 3 drawers plus of ribbon, and I never have the right color!

Lots of 12x12 one side print, for scrapbooking, for whenever I start that again.

Someone tell me what a BIA is? Maybe I regret that too, but don't know what it is!

Maybe the vendors could come out with the best first, so we wouldn't buy several of each thing before they come out with the best one!!! That would help.

Ok, I'll play.

I'm in Montreal, Canada and we have only one big box craft store and it kinda bites for stamping and card making. I buy tons and tons of stuff online and have it shipped to a friend in the States.

Man did I make just about every mistake in the book when I first started.

So here, in no particular order,my regrets:

One million DCWV 12x12 paper stacks
One million brads in different shapes, colours and patterns
One million eyelets - every colour of the rainbow
One million spools of ribbon. I'm not so good with tying bows, but I do like ribbon
Some really, really ugly stickers.
A bunch of stuff that looked wayyyyyyyy different online than in person.
I'm sorry I bought the little Cricut - I love it, but wish I had waited a bit and got the Expression.
Eyelet setting set
Cricut tool set - you really don't need them.

I think that's a big enough list.

Thankfully, I discovered this place and have learned so much from the people here.

I so understand this! I remember buying tons of seed beads when I was a teenager. I know I didn' use them up, but I got rid of them at some point. Then I was into needlepoint, then counted cross stitch, then just about any needlecraft. I used to say that I had enough projects to last me until I'm 80. I still do have that much, but now I collect the scrapbooking and card making supplies. I use them, but have enough to last me until I'm 90. Within this current card-making era, I went through a beading thing.
I've gotten rid of a lot of the needlework, but should probably purge more. I've gotten rid of some of the early card making purchases, but not many.

BTW, what is a Raspberry Wizard?

I gave a TON of stack paper and cardstock to a friend who is a new scrapper/stamper. She was delighted but not nearly as delighted as I was to get all that out of my studio.

I saved a few of the sheets that were the reason I bought the stack in the first place and passed the rest on to her. Now I have more space and no guilt that I bypass all that paper for other stuff I like better.

Great thread! My list of regrets include:

Letter stickers
Sticko stickers - how many of these does one person need? I will pawn them off on DD when she gets older!
Paper doll / paper piecing kits
Brass stencils
Mini sewing machine (I wish I knew how to sew, but it has never been out of the box)
SU roller stamps
Several SU stamp sets that have never been used
Wizard machine (my sweet DH bought this for me, but I could never figure out how to use it and eventually sold it on eBay). I now have a Cricut Expression and I *love* it!

My Scor-pal.

It's a great tool but it was pricey and I always forget to use it.

I totally regret buying that stupid Xyron Design Runner! I spent like $300 on it when it first came out! I've used it a couple of times and I can never get a good print image. So, now it just sits on a shelf collecting dust. Maybe I should try selling it? I almost feel guilty about that....selling it to some other poor sucker!

How can you forget to use it? Are you a card maker?

I bought one of those once too...can't even remember what it is called. I thought...that looks cool...luckily it was cheap ($5 or less) because I tried it, hated it, and never looked at it again. It is sitting in my "get rid of" pile as we speak!

LOL. Mine sits to - cause I forget about it. I make cards, but don't need to use the score pal for them.

One of these days, I'm gonna get it out and use it on a template.

I absolutely HATE my Cricut Design Studio. I'm not that technologically impaired normally, but I can never accomplish what I set out to do with that thing! I have not used it in over a year...and can't sell it because you can only add it to 1 computer, 1 time! Akkk!!
