I put microbeads in mine. You could also put puched items or confetti in them.

I put really small beads in mine. I also bought some sand at Hobby Lobby and made shaker cards using the Fishy Friends set. Those came out very cute. You can put confetti in them. Or if you have those hand held punches that are really small you can put the punches in them. I'm not sure what else. I'd be interested in finding out what others put in them too!

You can put all sorts of things in your shakers! Microbeads, sand, confetti, anything that will fit in that tiny space!

I haven't tried this yet, but what about that chunky craft glitter?
I have tons of it in my craft stuff.

I have used anything that is small - my lastest was i had some of this snowflake embossing powder that looked horrible when used to emboss - it looks white with silver and holigram glitter in it...instead of throwing it out I decided to use it as shaker filler.

Anything will work as long as it is not bigger than your shaker space - I have seen confetti, sand, microbeads, regular beads, small rhinestones, coffee grounds, glitter, etc, etc....

I love the "shaved ice" from magic scraps. Its hard to explain, but perfect for the birthday shakers. My other favorites are beads, micro beads, sand, confetti and candy sprinkles.

Noelle - Beate did a great tutorial. You should be able to find it in the forums or resources section of this website! Enjoy!

I made a shaker card once that was a picture of a wedding cake - I used rice for the shaker part. It turned out really cute!

I saw a beautiful Easter card that used the green grass stuff in the shaker. It was so cute with the Bunny in the background.

Well, I found the instructions from Beate on the shaker card. I am concerned about being able to hide the side view of the tape, make sense? If you are just using 2 pieces of card with acetate in the middle and tape, how do you hide the side view of the tape?

Kalebyra

That was my shaker - it is in my gallery if anyone wants to see it - that was done with a lot of imput from a bunch of gals here at SCS...if you look closely I had some really tiny balloon punches I just trimed off the "stem" and used those as little Easter Eggs in the grass... I love that card

I don't really hide the sides of my tape it really isn't all the noticeable when you are looking straight at the card.

You could use a couple of layers of fun foam in a coorid. color if you are worried. You would have to make sure it is stuck good all the way around. Then you wouldn't see the white tape.

I have used instant coffee before but it was July and it kind of melted. I have seen people use bird seed, spices. I save the little pieces when using my corner punches, especially when using metalic c/s. I have seen polyshrinked items too.

I just received a Christmas tag swap with a snowman shaker and she used salt for the shaker. Really cute. One of those moments where you say to yourself...now why didn't I think of that!!

I like to put candy sprinkles, microbeads, and confetti in mine. Not all at once though.

I saw one with some kind of gel in it, but haven't figured out what it was. Liquid soap, maybe? Has anyone used in type of liquid in it?? :?
