What was DH thinking!?!?!
We had my DH's family over tonight for dinner. So, last night I was busy cleaning my dining room of my stamping things. I had surgery a week and half ago and am not supposed to lift heavy things. SO, I asked DH to help me. I had him carry my ink pads in the color caddy down to my stampin' area in the basement. He said "what is this? I should just take it to the trash.". WHAT!?!?!! I told him ever so nicely - not on my life! Do you know how much $$ is in your hands??? He responded that he didn't want to know.
So, today after dinner, my DH and BIL go down in the basement for something. They come up and they both ask how SU! would sell at a yard sale. I politely (more sarcastically) said they better not touch any of it!!!!!!!!! I said it will sell very well, however, it won't be going anywhere!!!!
What in the world were they thinking?!?! Now I may have to consider putting up a door with a lock that only I have a key to for my SU! items!!! Hmmm.....I wonder how he would feel if I did/said that about all his sports items?!?!

Karen, I'd say it's time to get tough! Every time you see a piece of sports equipment, you should definitely pick it up and look at it like you've never seen it before, and say, "Hmm, wonder what THIS will bring at a yard sale."
Ha ha ha ha
After all, what good is marriage if you can't give and take????

My dh treats my stuff like it were gold. (Sarcastically of course). He knows how much of 'his' money is invested in all my stuff. LOL However, he will joke that my collection of stamps and paper would make a great bonfire.

DH tells me I need to put a sticker on each of my crafting things with the value so if something should happen to me he can sell everything on E-bay...I told him if I was going to do that he needs to do the same with his hunting stuff...How much would a mounted turkey butt go for anyway???

Hey- I have a snarky come back for them.....
Ask them sweetly how much their "Craftsman tools, golf clubs, or other well loved sports equipment would sell for at a yard sale."
See if that doesn't shut them up and reconsider! LOL

For what it's worth...
A mounted turkey would cost at LEAST 150 to get mounted in most places... And depending on the size and where exactly you are it could be more that that!
That's at LEAST a hostess order!!!

Will trade....
Will trade: (please see earlier post for description of tradable value DH....)
Will Accept: 1 Turkey Butt....
Value to Value: Believed to be equal. However, TB takes more dusting and DH requires more food. TB definitely more quiet and will watch chick flicks without complaint or eye rolling. Also TB will not scratch in front of relatives or criticize size of wife hiney. Possibly not an equal trade after all.
Will offer more stamps for Turkey Butt....

SPEW ALERT on that last one.
Well ladies, gotta brag on my DH. He keeps the heathern children out of my crop room most of the time and loves my stuff because it always makes me happy even when he is being a schmuck. If I am in a bad mood he says "maybe you better go to your crapbooking and stomping room. That will cheer you up" Then he cleans the whole house. YEAH HUBBY.

My DH knows what eyelets are and can tell when I use Twinkling H2Os...He even knows the names of lots of sets and will help make recommendations when I'm struggling with a card. I always tell him "Do you know what kind of money I could get for you on the black market???"

DH
Oh my gosh, :P I LOL on the turkey butt, but when I got to the DH for sale ad I was out of control, and the mother-in-law w/o remote was the last straw. Thanks for the laugh, I needed it. And as for my DH, he has no idea what is in my craft room (crap room as he refers to it), nor what the value of the items are. He would probably raise the insurance if he knew........and then make me go back to work to recoup the cost!

How much do they eat?
My 16 yo does dishes, but he's a human eating machine. I swear, for a tall, skinny, boney boy he eats his weight in food 2x per day!

Neither eat much. The younger one is 5'3" and weighs 98 lbs. and thinks she is fat. I could so slap her. Sorry for the hijack but these kids that think they are fat because of the social norms make me sad. Make me want to cry when my baby things she is overweight and is as thin as she is. I think we should start a trend, chunky moneys should be tre chic!

Wow Kristen, I though MY DH was to brag for... Nothing like yours though. All of my stamping stuff was purchased by me so he has NO say! Besides, he buys expensive camera equipment for himself.
But, he does say that he likes to see me so happy since I LOVE my creative hobby. Probably so that he can but more stuff for himself!!

I was PIMP reading all of these posts. I even read them to my DH. I've been pretty busy for two days stamping for all of the challenges, a couple of swaps, MIL b-day, Sis b-day....etc...
I showed him this card when he came home today and he told me I was nuts. He said, what kind of crazy person would sew these all with a needle and thread? I said...what kind of crazy person would think I sewed it with a needle and thread when the sewing machine is sitting right in front of you??
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...cat=500&page=1
Then he wandered into my craft room later on and saw my pliers from my Crafter's tool kit. He was admiring the spring-loaded hinge and the ultra-tiny needle nose. I said, I'd better not find those in your tool box or I'll order another kit, and it's $40! He put them back, but if they wander off.....I'm serious! Then he started examining the rest of the tool kit. I explained what everything was for in great detail until he left.
At least he encourages me, and only complains if I'm in an addictive spurt. He even handles the kids one evening a week, cleans up after dinner alone and lets me have a stamping/scrapping night with the chicks!

I am laughing so hard that I am about to PIMP so I'm sitting here with my legs crossed and a wet monitor from laughing and drinking coffee!
Boy, were you *nice*!!! My response would have been similar, but probably would have included expletives and/or derogatory remarks in at least three languages!!
I'm still laughing!!!.................
Okay...new idea for a reality show....*MAN TEST* - And each week, the woman whose husband is *most* likely to be traded for a turkey butt gets stamps! We could make it quiz-show style:
Name three things non-booze related that a blender can be used for.
What is Bounce? (*not* what happens in the NBA before the ball goes out-of-bounds and forces a turnover...)
What is the average response time from the [insert your town here] Fire Department?
If you have three coupons for the same item, what do always check?
What is your [insert child's name here] birthdate? What is [insert *your* name here] birth date? (But I bet he can name five models of Mustang, including the engine size, production dates, body style, concept designer, CEO, and tire pressure...)
Oooooopppppsss....was that my out-loud voice again? ~ K
