Smile What cardmaker do you like to watch?

What cardmaker or crafter do you like to watch on Youtube? I've watched Lindsay, the Frugal Crafter, Jennifer McQuire, Jen Evers and Christina on CraftyPaws. I've seen the ones with Lawn Fawn and the other sellers, but I'd like to find more that are regular card makers that don't use lots of Copics or try to entice you with the new expensive stamps and dies. They just use the ones they have on hand. Going back on a spending freeze, and don't want to be tempted! I also like videos of people making cards and pages with the older Cricuts; the free standing cricuts machines.
What do you like to watch?

I like to watch Kelly Latevola (she often shares a story) and Jill Foster with Penny Black. Although they both “sell”, I often see ideas to incorporate or something to try and recreate with what I already have. Lately, I’ve started watching some of the recommended videos that pop up based on what I have already seen. Can’t remember more names, but there are some talented card makers out there!

I love to watch Jill Foster for Penny Black. She explains and shows everything so clearly and does beautiful work. I also enjoy Sandy Allnock, Jennifer McGuire and Loll Thompson.

Adriana, I have become a huge fan of Kelly Latevola.

Also a fan of Jill Foster; and if you've never seen "Stamp and Paint with Mimi" for Penny Black, you're missing out. Sometimes I watch her videos just to listen to the music, to the point that I obsessively looked for and found, and downloaded the file, just so I can listen to it anytime. No talking in her videos, but the things she can do with PB stamps - love her! This video is one of my favorites:

I also enjoy Sandy Allnock; I am taking some of her classes. Loll Thompson is another of my favorites. Also a fan of Dawn Woleslagle of WPlus9 - she is a master watercolorist IMHO.

Another favorite is The Mind of Watercolor - I wish I could remember his name, but he has some wonderful videos if you're into watercoloring.

Heather Telford, Lydia (Understand Blue), Julie Ebersole, Laura Bassen, and Art Impressions watercolor videos are also favorites.

Great question; I'm looking forward to discovering other talent out there!

I'm still watching most of Kristina Werner's videos, but I'm not watching Jennifer McGuire as much. Her videos are getting way too long and complicated for my liking. I like watching stampers and scrapbookers who show how to use what you already have. I still like Lawn Fawn, and I get a lot of ideas from their videos. Some of the above-mentioned stampers are very good, but not my style. I won't watch anyone who uses the phrase "over top," because the English teacher in me finds herself yelling at the screen, "That's not a phrase! It's 'on top of!'"

I get a lot of info and ideas from SU Demonstrator Connie Stewart. Everyday is different technique. One day is 2 minute tips, another is quick cards, etc.
Home - Simply Simple Stamping

I also watch Dawn Griffith. She uses the same stamps a lot of times and also shows several samples of a card using other stamp sets. Home - Dawn's Stamping Thoughts

I've been watching a lot of Jennifer McGuire, the folks from Tonic Studios (they sometimes post 2ce a day!), Connie Stewart has some great tips, Brandy Cox from Brandy's Cards is so laid back and easy to follow. I love Kristina Werner, but feel that many times, her techniques are too labor intensive for me...I like it simple. Oh, and I love Gina K. Her videos are great!

Gina K from stamp TV is my favourite cardmaker to watch, she makes beautiful cards. For art journaling, Vicky Papaioannou is marvellous to watch.

Thank you all for these great suggestions! I like to watch youtube videos when I'm having days I don't feel well. I just realized that I have two different youtube accounts; one for the computer and one for the SmartTV. I wondered why I didn't have that many subscribed to on the SmartTV. Thanks a bunch! I will look these up!!!

Great post. I especially like the reasons given that they like about different bloggers. I also would like to see more “non copic” colouring.

I think Cards and Coffee Time will be a channel you'll really enjoy: Cards and Coffee Time - YouTube
She has a recurring series called "using what's in our stash" where she will use things that are older or maybe even retired. I always walk away inspired to find something in my stash I could use. And she has a "10 cards, 1 kit" series that I appreciate because my spending is restricted to just one card kit per month (and it has to be a good kit).

I also like Kristie Marcotte's videos: Kristie Marcotte - YouTube
She makes a whole bunch of cards from one paper pad, and I just love watching her create. I tend to make one-of-a-kind cards, but I love watching Kristie create and I have used the sketches she features for inspiration. I admire that she uses up her paper and paper scraps in clever ways, because I'm working on using my stash right now.

I follow a lot of other talented crafters that I'd be happy to mention- some for the inspiration, others because they've just got a fantastic personality - but they do design for companies, so there's more of a push to use newer supplies. I do get tempted by new stamps, of course. But I'm also on a very major spending freeze and when that happens, I just go and watch older videos featuring stamps I already own.

Good Question!

I dont watch a lot...just dont have time.

In addition to JM and Kristina Werner, I watch Sandy Allnock-while she does copic work, she also does other stuff. I have been following her for years, since Operation Write home. She does beautiful bible art too.

Sandy Allnock ? Fearfully, wonderfully made! ?Ps 139:14

I watch our resident artist Dina's on her blog (Dini)

I watch Lydia's on her blog (understandblue) I think Lydia is very funny.

And I watch Kathy on daily marker for coloring tips. Even though she works in copics-she also does pencil and the marker tips I can use with mine.
http://www.thedailymarker.com/

I dont always want to actually see a vid-sometimes I just want to see cards....

If you want to use existing stamps and stuff...this is a challenge specifically for that:

For Masculine ones:
The Male Room

I will have to look into the ones up there I dont know!

I hope I dont offend anyone but I can’t stand the You Tubers that spend half the video laughing and acting silly. I know crafting is fun but I’m watching because I want to learn.
Please don’t spend a lot of time talking about the weather, personal things. Don’t
Sing your theme song. Talk to your kids, pets, or mailman. I like the You Tubers that
Make their tutorial instructional and to the point. I don’t mind a long video as long as half of it isn’t a waste of my time.

I watch Frenchie (France Martin), Connie Stewart, Dawn Griffith, Pootles, Crafty Caroline, Kelly Acheson, Linda Parker, Paperly rose, scrimping mommy, Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire regularly. I must admit I skip any of the Facebook live videos because they are too long and the person doing them spends way too much time saying hi to everyone as they log in. Love that Connie edits her live facebooks so I usually watch her live videos on the replay.

I don't mind that too much. I know how things can be right in front of you one minute and gone the next. Pootles couldn't find something the other day so she improvised quite well.

So many sources have been mentioned that I have never seen before - have lots of previewing to do.

I don't think this one was mentioned: CRaFTi PoTeNTiAl . It has lots of mixed media and makes things look easy to do. After a while you might want to mute the theme music though.

Nichol Spohr, Yana Smakula, Kelly Latevola, Vickie Papaioannou, Carissa Wiley, Prairie Paper and Ink, Chicnscratch, and also the YouTube channels for the stamp companies that I like, because most of them post videos with guest designers from time to time.

I click on CC or closed captions when I watch videos sometimes. I can still see what they're saying but without all the background things going on.

Actually, my laptop's sound is awful, my own hearing is bad and I have to use headphones to hear things well so that also makes things simpler all around.

I really like Sandy Parker of Crafting for Almost Everyone. Sandy is funny and and down-to-earth. She has issues with her hands, and she makes a great effort to talk about which tools and techniques might work better for crafters with different special needs. She does mention brands, but most of her videos are not sponsored.

I also like Christine from Scraptime Videos, but she hasn’t been posting a lot lately. I think most of her videos these days are product specific, but her heart is in the techniques.

Mr. Otter’s Studio is delightful. I think she is an art teacher. She does lots of very nice tutorials on watercolor techiques. Her videos on different washes are outstanding and very useful for card making. They’re worth bookmarking.

Maccocino is an art student, who does some very nice, simple watercolor technique videos. She’s geared toward young people, but many of her videos are valuable for any age.

Sandy McIver is a stampin-up demonstrator, who is upbeat and fun. She has done some outstanding videos on double and triple time stamping. She keeps very focused, and she keeps up the pace.

Other favorites that have been mentioned by others: Gina K, Lindsay the Frugal Crafter,

Thanks for the suggestions. I've added a few to my list. I like to watch YT while I have my coffee or lunch and at the moment I keep running out of things to watch. There are so many less than entertaining 'live' replays, hauls and destashes. There is also so much repetition. Are we losing the excitement in our craft?

Vickie Papaioannou, Jill Foster, Heather Telford, Loll Thompson are my favourites. I agree with bdeyes9 about videos with too much other irrelevant stuff going in - I watch videos to learn and I don't have time for all that extra chitchat, disorganization, etc.

Since I seldom watch videos, I had no idea there were so many out there. I would rather have a step by step picture tutorial, so I could go at my own pace without pausing, running it back, starting it over, etc. I also find it annoying to listen to stories, kidding, have pet/children interruptions, missing items and two people gabbing with inside jokes and other things that frazzle my nerves and distract my attention.

Most of the stamper videos mentioned also have the video available via their blog, and I prefer to manage my subscriptions that way. It's easier to tell if the video is something I want to view or if it's enough just to see the finished products.
