Default Card Candy

I'm sure the answer to this is obvious, it just doesn't seem to be to me (at least not today). I want to make some Card Candy for a friend, but I can't figure out the packaging end of it. I want to stick it onto a window sheet or something similar, and put a topper on it, etc. The problem is that if I use pop dots or glue dots, they stick the card candy to the window sheet. What am I doing wrong? I need some way of putting adhesive on the back of the candy that will release from the packaging. Any suggestions?

Nikkii

What about the two way glue? It's blue and I think by Zig...if you let it dry first, it's repositionable versus glueing and sticking right away.

I think that some of the Tombow tape runners are also repositionable. So, you could put just a dab on it and then stick it to the window sheet.

Cute idea, by the way. Um, do you need my address?!?

Put it on wax paper and it can be easily removed.

Hey you,
I already got your address. (want to insert smiley waving face here, but can't find one). I was kind of thinking of something which would be permanent for the recipient (sp) so I don't have to explain the whole temp/permanent adhesive thing to her.

AKA:
I wanted it to look "store bought", I'm not sure I could pull that off with wax paper.

Bonnie:
sorry, it's been a super busy day. Card Candy is prestamped tags, or cuttlebug die cuts, or anything that you make that could be added to a card, sort of like stickers but better.

I use waxed paper, but I attach it to a piece of cardboard. People seem to like mine....but I'd be happy to hear how others do it too!

You can just use the Tombow Mono Adhesive, and if you don't like the idea of waxed paper, a window sheet is just as easy for removing the candy, and then the adhesive is ready to apply the candy to the project "permanently."

What about doing a 'pocket' card, with the candy inside, no sticking needed then.

Default what is card candy?

I keep seeing posts about card candy, and I know what it looks like, but what is it? What do you do with it when it's done? It looks like something I want to make - but I want to know what I'm making first!
Thanks

Oh, what a great idea! I have tons of little things like this kicking around waiting to be used, but I never thought of packaging them together and giving them away!

Default Card Candy?

I've seen samples of card candy in the gallery. Can someone please explain this to me? It looks like a pretty display of 'parts' that can be used on other cards?

That's exactly what they are. Stampin' Up! demos use them as hostess gifts or door prizes. They can take any shape like stamped items or bits and pieces of embellishments like ribbon and buttons.

I'm not entirely positive, but I think it may be against the terms of service here at SCS to advertise blog candy here on SCS to promote traffic to your blog. You can definitely put a link to your blog in your signature, but it has to be non-promotional. And you can definitely promote your blog candy at your blog.

You can increase traffic to your blog simply by commenting on other people's blog and putting your blog address in the field where your URL is called for when placing comments.

Best of luck with your new blog! It looks great so far!

I didn't know what it was either, until I started to see others post their candy here. I made some with the Pallete 'O Papers when they first came out. This may give you a better idea of what it's all about:

Goodies, embellishments, things you can add to your cards and scrapbooks that make them pop!

I use a sheet protector for trading cards. Each sheet has 9 slots of 2.5x3.5".
These are great for card candy. You can slip the card candy in each little pocket. I like to make my card candy the focal point for a card; therefore, these focal points are 2.5x3.5"and the beginning of cards for the recipient. I have a couple of sheets on my gallery. I'm attaching my Christmas card candy here:

I believe card candy is where you make items that could go on a card, kinda like home-made embellishments. I've seen it where people put together a bunch of coordinated "card candy", package it nicely, and then sell it. I would guess to toehr card makers.

I've never made any but I"m sure all the experts will add to or correct my thoughts!!

Happy stampin'

That is exactly what card candy is. They are embellishments only, packaged to be used when needed... I think that they may have gotten their name because you can package them by adhering them with a glue dot to some sort of wax paper, sort of like the way you might imagine the old candy dots that were stuck onto a strip of paper. I actually find that in a short time, the glue dots stay too well, even on the wax paper. I've used acetate with more success, we used to sell window sheets at SU, but no more . They do make great gifts to your crafting friends! Experienced or beginner crafters love the convenience and the great ideas.
