I've acquired quite a few cards over the past couple of swaps. They are pretty and I want to mail them but I don't want people to naturally assume that it is my artwork.
For RAK's should I just say this is a cardfront that I received from a swap?
I have so many cards just sitting in my stamp room collecting dust that I really want to send out a ton of RAK's but I want to make sure that I do so with the proper etiquette as to not hurt any feelings. I would send out to family and friends but I would run out of people before I run out of cards, ha ha! I feel like I don't need to be stamping any more cards until I get some of these sent out.
I seem to just collect them. I only give away the ones I don't like or the ones I would never use like for certain holidays or what not. I also share them with other demos or you can make them into cards and send them to Kari for the overseas project. Since the soldier won't know you from Eve, it's okay to just cover the back and send it on with no credit at all. I have Christmas cards I need to start doing this with ASAP ~ just need to place a CS order.
Re-using card fronts that you don't need for samplers is fine - you just need to mount them onto a card body and on the back where you would usually put your own info - just put the creator's info - I usually write something like :
card created by ____________ and given with love by (my name)
that way true credit is being given for the art work!
Hope this helps!

If you want to leave an impression - send a card.
If you want to leave a great impression - stamp the card yourself!
I guess if it were me I'd paste the cardfront onto a regular folded card, and write on the back "Hand Stamped by ______". It would at least give credit to the person who made the card.
Are you a demo? I give some of my extras to my regular customers. If I have a card that corresponds with a stamp set they order, I will often just include that cardfront in their bag as a "thank you" for ordering from me and an example of what to do with their stamps.
If you are looking to get rid of some of your cards, you could paste them on a card, giving credit on the back to who created it, and donate those to the troops (ask Sereikastamper), or package them up to give to teachers, or give them to people in nursing homes to use. There are so many people who would love to have these to send to their loved ones.
I'm glad that I saw this thread as I'm in the process of remounting the card fronts and making them into cards, with the intention of packaging them up and donating them to a local Senior Home near my house.
I hadn't even thought that I should probably put the actual creators name (where known) on the back....I guess I was thinking that the Seniors would never wonder where they came from, but I suppose in this small world we live in, there's always a possibility that one of them would make it's way back to it's original creator and wouldn't it be neat for that creator to see that I remembered to include her/his name on the back of the card.
I'll definately begin doing that now. Thanks everyone for your awesome ideas.

Thanks for the great idea!!! I have been accumulating cardfronts myself but I didn't part with any since I wasn't sure how to give proper credit to both of us....
Stamperkim,
I don't think I'd bother putting anything on the back of the cards you're sending to a Seniors' Home. I would think it would only be neccesary if you were sending them on to other stampers.
I'm not a demonstrator, and this thread brings up a question I've had for a while...why even do swaps? I can see why they might be useful if you're new at the business, but if you've been at it awhile, why would you need so many samples? :?
From what I've read in this forum, swaps are often very stressful. The whole concept seems alien to me, I guess. I'm not a card hoarder. I don't even keep any of my own cards... I either sell them or send them to friends and relatives.

Happy heart, as for the swapping thing, I know for me, I have done a few to get some samples done so that I have a referral system just in case I can't get online for some inspiration...but I have to agree with you, it could get to be too much if you just keep swapping I think. I have only been in three swaps and realized this...but don't get me wrong! I loved doing it! And for the cards that I know I will not use, I just send along to the troops!
