Default Well, it's not stamping but...

Hi! I know this is not a stamping project, please forgive me if it is inappropriate for me to post but I thought this came out so cute that I had to share! (And, you can always stamp a matching tag and card...)
I made this easy, no sew, reversible fleece blanket in about 1 hour this am. Talk about simple, my friend taught me how last night and I am now hooked...Take two same-sized pieces of coordinating fleece, place on top of eachother with good sides out and cut along edges 1.5inches deep, 1 inch apart and tie tags together. Simple as that! I have seen blankets like this before, in fact, my friend Beth (Bethspumpkins) made each of my boys adorable Spongebob blankets but I had never seen the reversible ones before last night. Here it is...now I am off to STAMP the matching card and tags...

Default Fleece

I love it --- and thanks for the instructions ---- just as I was looking at it, I said to myself, "now, I have to ask how it was done" and then I went back to finish reading the rest of it and there it was, the instructions. Thanks, again. You do make the ties all around, right?? Has anyone ever tried stamping on polar fleece. Would it work and if anyone has, how did you do it?? Thanks again.

Very cute! I saw a reference to this a long time ago and couldn't remember exactly how to do it. Thanks! My DD and DS will be finding these under the tree this year!

A friend of my daughter made blankets like this for my grandson and granddaughter. They love them and want to take them everywhere. These wash like a charm, too!

OMG WOW this is a keeper Definitely using this in one of my stamp anything classes Thanks for sharing and it fits into the stamping catagory quite nicely along with all the other non-card things we do.

I was just downloading the image and DD saw it and said "cooooooel". So it's not just us adults who like it.

These are very popular at our County fair. I think everyone does these. Now Wal mart (at least ours) has these in little squares you tie together and make a "patchwork" quilt that way. They are pretty awesome

Thanks, melda, I had never seen these before. And I thought it was just the tsamping bandwagon I was so late jumping onto. Looks like I am out of all the craft loops

Love the idea, I will definately be casing this! Thanks.

Yes, these blankets are awesome, I made one each for my daughters and they love them. I hate to sew so this was perfect!!! My DD always loves all those character prints and wants something made out of them...

You can cover a pillow by making a smaller version. Just be sure to add the pillow form before tying the last side.

Default Pillows, too

You can also make any size and several shape pillows using the same technique. My daughters and I made several for bithday gifts -- their friends loved them. We made heart shapes, rectangles, circles and squares.

To make a pillow cut the two pieces of fleece a good 6 inches larger than what you want the finished pillow (the part without fringe) size to be; then with the two sides held together, follow the blanket idea of cutting the fringe all around, about 3" long (it's longer than the blanket, because I found you need to double knot to keep the stuffing inside). (Note: on the odd shapes like hearts and circles, each piece of fringe will be wider at the outer end than at the pillow end -- to accommodate the curved shape.)

Then you double knot all the way around the pillow, stopping while there is still a small opening into which you stuff the fiberfill -- then finish knotting and "voila" (as we say in Canada) -- a soft pillow!

Default Cute...

I just got the directions for these. One of the things I'm giving my kids for christmas... except... I'm going to do all the cutting and let THEM tie them! Aren't I mean!!!

I have six kids... just don't have that much time. I've gotta stamp!!!

Love it!

Okay people all of this is fantastic - but did I miss any reply that would make this stamping - can we not stamp on fleece with the craft pads???
Does anyone know this - I think solid colored fleece and our stamps - oh
so fun, but I would hate to do this and then go to wash and have it all gone or muddy. So if anyone knows the answer please - please share.

I have not tryed to stamp on fabric w/craft but 2 things I do know that might help anyone that wants to try are
1] wash and dry the fabric first to remove any sizing
2] craft ink needs to be heat set and I don't know if you could use the heat gun or iron but be very carefull fleece does melt if you get it to hot. If anyone trys this and has good results please let the rest of us know. TIA Dawn

DD and I were in Joanne's the other day and she bought 2 different kinds of Pink Ribbon fleece to make these for us! Yay! She loves to make them. Oh, and Hancock's fabrics is handing out a free pattern magazine for these oh-so-easy fleece items at their checkout counters.

I never thought about the pillow version! Thanks!! BTW, I have made two more since, I am addicted (but please know that this has in no way surpassed my love for stamping, in fact, I am now making them only so I have an excuse to make a cute matching tag and card....lol)

I made my first one for a child at an orphanage in the Ukraine that our church supports and was so much fun that I'm making them for my two nieces and my step-daughter for Christmas. There are some fun prints out there! My DD is getting a black w/orange, red flames backed with bright yellow blanket. The nieces are getting the little girl type of fleece. You know flowers, ladybugs, that type of thing. I'm going to show my friend how to do it so she can make a blanket for each of her nieces as well! Fun, fun, fun! Everyone have a great time!
