I am looking for ideas, stamps, paper, etc. I have been asked to do wedding invitations for one of my son's friends. I am excited about doing these but yet a little nervous. I would appreciate any ideas!!!!!
Check out this great link to the "Occasions" section of the SCS gallery -- 63 pages and counting! Folks use all different brands and types of stamps and paper, too, so it's a one-stop shop for inspiration!
New ideas are always being posted, so you can re-run the search in a single click just be going to the Occasions link at the top of the gallery home page and scrolling down to Wedding.

One of the newest crazes is the gate/double fold or the tag / label in an envie. My daughter's friends are all getting married and the last one was a 6 x 12 cards stock double (score at the 4' mark I think) fold with a pocket on one end to hold the rsvp and the other end was the map. It closed with an attached satin ribbon tied in a bow. and, it was mailed with no damage! The envelopes were custom and a heavier paper but not 120# cardstock.
Location: Wishing I was not at work but I have to pay for my hobbies some how! LOL!

I personally have not made any but I have been addicted to JustRite Stamps lately. Here are some pictures from their gallery for wedding invitations. If you would like more details on any project, just Google the creator to find their blog.

Thanks for posting that....I didn't know SCS even HAD an Occasions Gallery.....how did I miss that?!?!?
I just recently put some wedding invitations up on my blog: www.stampingnurse.blogspot.com If you click on the wedding tab over on the right side of my blog you should be able to see them all.

It's relatively new -- couple of months, maybe? The print is kinda small and easy to overlook up there at the top of the page. I absolutely LOVE it, and it makes finding themed card ideas SOOOO much easier!

I just helped my niece with hers. Simple but elegant and no stamping required! Her colors were purple and gold (yuck!) She had photos that were 4x6. So we layered the photo onto a slightly larger piece of white cardstock and layered that to piece of purple. Then we printed the details on vellum (that was larger than the white but not as large as the purple) and did a simple no tie bow at the top to hold it all together. They came out really nice. I didn't take a picture...but hopefully the description gives you an idea. If you are making many of these (she wanted 200 of them!) then you'll want to keep it as simple as possible while still looking classy.
I have done several weddings. One of the first was from time of proposal to actual day of wedding 6 weeks. It was a natical theme the invites and RSVP were rolled, tied and placed in a small bottle and mailed out. The place favors were large anchor cookies with a topper and thank you. I am currently designing my neices invites I have a habit of dreaming about my designs and she adores the one I dreamed about. a tri fold in cream with a brown backer page the initial is stamped and scalloped punched then tied with a ribbon.
