Watery craft ink?

Several craft pads I bought this year were very liquidy and watery - especially vanilla craft - and they never ink up well on the stamps. Others have been fine, like the darker colors. What should I do? Is it just a question of breaking the pads in and maybe getting the ink "flowing" better?

I've never had this problem, but other people have said that they take the back of a spoon and smoosh it around the pad in order to mix it up. HTH.
