Watercolor Wings stamp set query
I am tempted to get this set but the stamps in the catalogue seem to have a kind of fine-dot texture. I guess this is to provide shading but I am wondering if is shows up when stamped? I don't want my butterflies to look like they have been stamped on fabric! Any comments?
Many thanks from Stephanie

Yes - they have that halftone screen on them - so you can see that pattern in them.

Thanks, Lydia. I think I will give that stamp set a miss.

You can see the design of the stamps better online than you can in the catalog. Click the image to see it larger, then the right arrow to see a card made with it.

(note this is not a demo link, and wouldn't work for you to order in New Zealand anyway!)

I think it is a great set! I don't normally order sets like this but it went on my first order! I predict this one will be first set on the backorder list!

I wonder if you could mist it with water and then that would give it a softer effect? ( this set is on my list)

I don't think the dots will be so obvious. It's meant to look shaded. There was a similar set years ago. Here's a card I made with it. Keep in mind it's stamped on a sanded background. Easy Elegance Again! by indyemmert - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks for all your comments and for sharing your card, Jana. I think I would have to see the set in action - maybe I can persuade a friend to buy it first!

Ooh, that is the only stamp set I really, really covet in the new catalog. Now, before anyone thinks I'm dissing SU, there are a bunch of other things I really like in this catalog. But, I know I won't be getting it because it's way, way too much money for me. I can drool though.

The leaves of the Sheltering Tree stamp are pixilated for lack of a better description, and I don't really like that now that I have the set. To me, it does not look natural, which is why I passed on the Painted Petals.

I love this set. First thing I'll be ordering!
You are right, Sheltering tee does look pixelated! I still like it. I don't have as I have Branch Out, which is a lot the same ( but it doesn't have a bike)!
