Just wanted to say how sad I am for the people of HI and Guatemala.

Do we have any peeps out there in the danger zones?

I think Hawaiian is ok bc she has been posting to the gallery.....

Mahalo - much appreciated. I pray for Guatemala and for local friends here, too. Thanks so much.

Sadly there are some folks here who are near the volcanic activity. I sincerely wish that everyone is safe from toxic gases, shooting rocks, ash, and of course lava.

Stay safe!!!

Thank you so much. Maybe someday. For the last 11 yrs I've been mostly bedridden. I've been trying to walk to the mailbox maybe 2-3 times per week though and hope someday to meet stampers ♥

I'm less than 10 miles from the fissures, but not in a danger zone. I'm totally safe. The only thing I need to worry about is the vog now and then when the wind is blowing in a certain direction. Luckily, that's not often. I'm in Hawaiian Paradise Park, in Keaau.

Rosy, if you're in Kona, you folks have had worse vog than we have even though you're on the other side of the island! Hope it hasn't bothered you.

That picture was taken when I stood in the road at the end of my driveway a few weeks ago. It's the glow from fissure #8. Our eruption is nothing compared to the one in Guatemala. Here the only way people are going to get hurt is if they ignore the warnings to evacuate that they've been given for days on end. Only one person has been injured, and that's because he was up on a roof and got hit by a lava bomb. (Chunk of lava that nearly took his leg off.) There had been a mandatory evacuation, and he refused to leave.

PS: I only posted because of Rosy's post about wanting to hook up with stampers on this side of the island.

Aloha, I am glad your home and all of you are safe. Air extremely bad over here. Captain Cook area traps vog in even way worse than Kona town. Our daughter and her hubby told us yesterday for her health they are moving to mainland.Vog is breaking up families. I understand why ones need to move. But we couldn't sell our house in these conditions so well take it one hour at a time. N95 mask helps but too hot and humid to wear long. The room and air purifier helps some. Lots of symptoms continue despite these health devices. Much aloha to you and to yours. Take good care.

Hi Rosy, First, I would like to say hi and I'm glad you are safe! I took a peek at your blog and WOW is your coloring amazing!! I especially love your furry monsters and the way you did the forest on your ninja card. Amazing! Also, in reading your blog I learned about the loss of your daughter. My heart goes out to you. I hope you do find a group of stampers nearby! Stamping is such a great way to heal the mind and spirit. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Hugs to you all who are suffering. Know that you are thought of. I hope he/she starts calming down soon.

Special love for our stampers in Guatemala.
