Welcome Renee! You'll find an amazing wealth of knowledge here - I am blown away by the beautiful things the folks here make.
My favorite SU item? Oh boy that's tough. I am absolutely in love with their accessories lately (punches especially) so that has been my main purchase. But my catalogue is dog-earred and filled with notes and stickies too. And my Wish List is a mile long!

Wow, that is like asking me my favorite kind of chocolate! ...I never met a chocolate I didn't like... except white!
I love the quality of the cardstock and that I can match perfectly with ink.

Welcome, Renee!
For me, the can't-live-without from SU is the coordinating paper and ink. I'm totally sold on the fact they match...coordinating is not my strong suit, LOL!

Not sure what you already have but I love the Stampin' Scrub and the mist cleaner. So easy to keep the stamps clean. I also love that the card stock, designer paper, ribbons and inks match so easily.
The Tombow green and white glue is a great adhesive. I love that the stamps are in sets. The galleries here have so many ideas.
Favorite new sets right now are Fifth Avenue Floral and Thoughts & Prayers.

I second the votes for the matching/coordinated paper/inks/markers. Makes it easier for those of us who are colour challenged...
Love my Top Note die - but you have to have a Big Shot or Cuttlebug (or access to one) for it to be of any use to you; I'm a self-admitted punchaholic so I have almost all of their punches - find it hard to make a card without punching something on it - and there's a new scalloped oval punch that will be available in April; current favorite set is Thoughts and Prayers (except for the fact that it's double-mounted - and I'm avoiding all future double-mounted sets...) So many things to choose from when first nurturing your addiction...
Have fun at your workshop - hope you are able to get lots of goodies!

Wow..I remember when I got hooked..I spent about 15,000 that year on "stuff" including all beautiful furniture for my stamp room. I have slowed down a lot from that year but still spend my share. Welcome to the wonderful world of stamping. It is amazing.
Blessings.

Welcome Renee to the wonderful world of stamping and Stampin' Up! I too remember the first time I tried stamping and was hooked immediately. I decided I needed to become a demo for the discount because my orders were always large Now 6 years later I find that each new catalog is always marked with sticky notes and my wish list just keeps getting filled up!
I agree with the other ladies, the coordination of inks, cardstock, and markers help make this non-crafty lady look like she is! This last year I have really been into punches, designer paper, and ribbon. But out of the stamps sets I guess my favorite would be Baroque Motifs, or maybe A Rose is A Rose, or Flight of the Butterfly, oh I almost forgot about Inspired by Nature Okay, kinda hard to pick a favorite.
Enjoy your new found hobby!

I love it all, which is why I signed up to be a demo. I figured if I was going to buy it, I might as well get the discount. But I also love the fact that I have made some great new friends from it as well. You can never have enough stamping buddies! Welcome to the hobby/obsession.

I love everything. That having been said, something I never got till about a year ago was the simply scrappin' kits. They are wonderful, and you really can't tell that from the catalog. They come with solid and patterned cardstock as well as the sticky embellishments -- not just shapes and stuff, but also strips you can use as borders or in place of ribbon.
You can make a LOT of cards with one kit. I even did a class where we made a 6 x 6 scrapbook and a bunch of cards, with a lot left over!
I don't know if these are my favorite, but I sure wish I had discovered them sooner.

I don't know how much SU stuff you have, but it's nice to start with a color family you like and buy an assorted pack of colored CS from that color family. and a pack of whisper white CS. The basic black stamp pad and snail adhesive is something I use over and over again. Look in the gallery for the specific stamp sets you stickied in your catalog to see if still like them after perusing the gallery. If I see a color combo I really like in the gallery I add it to my favorites. Buy what you love that is your taste or style. Have fun!

My favorite SU thing is, that everything matches. I love things that match. I think I have about all SU brads, buttons, eyelets (but I believe they retired lots of those). I am close to having all of their grosgrain ribbon colors.

I love everything, but if I had to pick one thing, it would be their punches.
I also like the Pretties Kit and Felt Flowers.
